Furniture is now coated with a variety of paints and plastics, and is treated with the most diverse of cleaners. It is therefore impossible to preclude some of these substances may contain components which would affect and soften the rubber feet of the housing
.
If necessary, place a non-slip, heat resistant pad
under the glass kettle.
Please the base station 4 on a suitable surface. Connect the device to the protective ground
socket.
Please boil water 2–3 times prior to first use. To do so, fill the water reservoir to the MAX mark. Pour out the water after each use and rinse the
water reservoir with clean water.
Always allow the water reservoir to cool to room
temperature between cycles.
Start-up
Filling the glass kettle
Remove the water reservoir 5 from the base
station
4
to fill.
Open the safety lid 8 by pressing the lid release
push button
1
.
Add water to the water reservoir 5. Be sure
not to fill below “MIN“ or above the “MAX“ level of the level indicator

water. There otherwise is a risk of damage to the health!
RISK OF BURNS! Adding
too much water to the device poses a
risk of boiling over. This can result in burns!
Close the safety lid 8.
Note: The automatic shut-off will not work if the safety lid
8
is not closed correctly.
Placing the glass kettle on
the centre contact station
Your glass kettle features a practical centre contact station. This means you may align the water reservoir
5
in any direction without observing the accu-
racy of fit.
Place the water reservoir 5 on the base
station
4
.
Now connect the base station 4 to the mains.
Boiling water
Note: The ON / OFF switch 3 can only be used if the device is on the base station.
Press the ON / OFF switch 3 down in the po-
sition “|“. The device is switched on. It will now start heating. Once the water is boiling the auto shut-off will switch the device off. The shut-off time depends on the amount of water added. Note: Based on the function of the device, a few drops of condensation may escape from the discharge openings at the bottom of the device at the end of the boiling cycle. This is not a sign the device is leaking but is due to the auto shut-off and does not affect safety.
Safety ON / OFF switch Note: Your device features a special safety ON /
OFF switch
3
(“lift-off switch-off”). Removing the
water reservoir
5
from the base station 4 will trip
the ON / OFF switch
3
up and the device will
automatically switch off.
To use again, return the water reservoir 5 to
the base station
4
and push the ON / OFF
switch
3
down into the “|“ position.
Note: If you do not push the ON / OFF switch
3
down again, the device will remain off, even with the water reservoir
5
on the base station 4.
Overheating protection
Your glass kettle features an overheating protection which will automatically switch the device off when
Before use / Start-up

automatically used empty or with an insufficient amount of water.
If the overheat protection is triggered, proceed as follows:
Unplug from the protective ground socket and
allow the device to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, it can be used again.
Manually interrupting
the boiling cycle
Slide the ON / OFF switch 3 upward to the
“0“ position.
Pouring water
Remove the water reservoir 5 from the base
station
4
to pour.
Opening the safety lid
8
is not required.
Pour the hot water through the pouring spout 7
into the designated vessel. Before boiling again, allow the device to first cool to room temperature.
Cleaning and Care
Always unplug from the mains before
cleaning and allow the device to cool completely before cleaning and storing!
Never immerse the base station and
water reservoir in water. This poses a risk of burns or electric shock!
Do not use caustic cleaners and abra-
sives or scouring pads, as this may cause damage the device beyond repair.
Cleaning the water kettle
Clean all exterior surfaces and the mains cable
with a slightly dampened dishcloth. Always dry the device well before using it again. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.
Ensure there is no washing-up liquid residue on and inside the device before using it again.
Rinse the inside of the water reservoir 5 with
clean water.
Remove deposits inside the water reservoir 5
by wiping the inside surface with a damp cloth, or use a washing-up or bottle brush. Then rinse the water reservoir
5
with clean water again.
Cleaning the filter cartridge
The filter cartridge is removable for enhanced cleaning.
Remove the filter cartridge upward at the re-
lease tab.
Clean the filter cartridge with some citric acid or
lime dissolver suitable for food containers from
a homeware shop (e.g. coffee maker cleaner).
Rinse the filter cartridge well with water. Please carefully slide the filter cartridge down-
ward along the designated guide groove.
Descaling the glass kettle
Note: Severely scaled devices can result in the device automatically switching off early and energy loss. Therefore regularly descale the glass kettle (varies by lime content in the water and frequency of use). Only use citric acid or lime dissolver suitable for food containers from a houseware shop (e.g. coffee maker cleaner), do not use acetic acid or other acids.
Fill the water reservoir 5 with water and heat
to a simmer. Add some citric acid or lime dissolver suitable
for food containers from a housewares shop
(e.g. coffee maker cleaner).
Unplug from the protective ground socket. Lime-
scale will dissolve as the water cools.
Occasionally swivel the water reservoir 5. Repeat the process for thick layers of limescale.
Note: Descaling may be interrupted, even if
some limescale remains. Descaling down to the
bare metal surface is not required.
After descaling, simmer 2–3 fillings of fresh water
and discard the water.
