Safety
This section contains important safety instructions for handling the appliance.
This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may result in
personal injury and property damage.
Basic safety instructions
To ensure safe operation of the appliance, follow the safety guidelines set out below:

use. Do not operate an appliance that has been damaged or dropped. There is a risk of injury!
■ If the mains power cable of this appliance is (or becomes)
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the
manufacturer's customer service department or a qualified technician in order to avoid risks.

and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have
been told how to use the appliance safely and are
aware of the potential risks. Do not allow children to

■ Ensure that the appliance is set up at least 1 metre from
any walls or cabinets on a surface that is not sensitive to
water. The falling steam will condense on walls and
floors and may cause damage to items such as furniture
or floor coverings.
■ The surfaces of some furniture items may contain com-
ponents that can corrode and soften the rubber feet of
the appliance. If necessary, place a mat beneath the
rubber feet of the appliance.
■ The tray for the aroma pouch may only be filled with
essential oils. Only essential oils which are compliant
with the national health requirements may be used.
The use of other substances may result in poisoning or
the risk of fire.
■ The appliance should only be repaired by authorised
specialist personnel or the customer service department.
Improper repairs can result in hazards for the user, and
will also invalidate any warranty claim.
■ Defective components must always be replaced with
original replacement parts. Compliance with the safety
requirements can only be guaranteed if these replacement parts are used.

■ Never open the housing of the appliance. There are no
parts inside the appliance which require user maintenance. The warranty will also be invalidated.
■ Do not make any unauthorised modifications or altera-
tions to the appliance.
■ Never touch the plug or the appliance with wet hands.
■ The mains plug must only be connected to a properly
installed, easily accessible plug socket whose voltage
corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate.
The mains socket must also remain easily accessible
after connection has taken place.

■ Always pull the mains plug out of the socket before car-
rying out any cleaning or maintenance work and during
periods when the appliance is not being used. Simply
switching off is not sufficient, since the appliance is subject to mains voltage for as long as the plug is connected
to the mains power socket.
■ Protect the appliance from moisture, water spray and
dripping water, and also penetration by liquids.
Risk of electric shock!
■ Never immerse the appliance, the mains power cable or
the mains plug in water, and do not use the appliance
outdoors. Risk of electric shock!
■ Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight or high
temperatures. Otherwise, it may become overheated
and irreparably damaged.
■ Do not insert any objects into the appliance.
■ Water must only be poured into the water tank, and
never into other parts of the appliance.
■ Do not put any cleaning agents, chemicals or metals
into the water tank.

■ Avoid moving the appliance too much is there is a lot of
water in the water tank. Water could get into other parts
of the appliance and cause damage.
■ If you notice any unusual noises, a burning smell or
smoke coming from the appliance, turn the appliance
off immediately and disconnect the power plug from the
mains socket. Have the appliance checked by a qualified specialist before using it again.

Electrical connection
To ensure safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance after making the electrical
connection, please pay attention to the following instructions:

CAUTION
► Before connecting the appliance, compare the connection data (voltage and
frequency) on the rating plate with that of your mains power supply.
The appliance may be damaged if these values do not match.
► Ensure that the mains power cable is not damaged and is not laid over any hot
surfaces and/or sharp edges.
► Ensure that the mains power cable is not taut or kinked.
► Always remove the power plug from the mains socket after each use.

Handling and operation
This section provides you with important information on handling and using the
appliance.
Filling the appliance with water
DANGER
Risk of electrocution!
If the appliance tips over when the water tank is full, the escaping water may
cause an electric shock with other appliances.
► Always place the appliance on a stable and level surface.
► Empty the water tank if you are not going to use the appliance for a long
period.
CAUTION
Damage to the appliance!
► Never operate the appliance without water in the water tank .
NOTE
► Ideally, you should fill the appliance with cooled-down, boiled water or distilled
water.
► Replace the water in the appliance at regular intervals to keep the appliance
clean.

♦ Remove the power plug from the mains socket.
♦ Take hold of the edge of the lid and pull it upwards off the water tank .
♦ Remove the tray 6 with the aroma pouch 1.
♦ Remove the water tank from the base unit using the handle +.
♦ Turn the water tank upside down.
