2. Intended purpose
This is an entertainment electronics device. The Bluetooth headphones are provided for the audio reproduction of audio devices via Bluetooth or the
3.5 mm jack socket. The device has a hands-free function for phone calls. The device is designed for private home use and must not be used for com­mercial purposes. The device must only be used indoors.
3. Safety information

DANGER for children and people with disabilities
~ Packing materials are not children's toys. Children must not play with
the packing material. There is a risk of suffocation.
~ This device is not designed to be used by people (including children)
with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or people without adequate experience and/or understanding, unless they ar e super­vised by someone responsible for their safety or ar e instructed by them on how to use the device.
~ Children must not play with the device. ~ Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children
without supervision.

DANGER to and from pets and livestock
~ Electrical devices can represent a danger to pets and livestock. In addi-
tion, animals can also cause damage to the device. For this r eason you should keep animals away fr om electrical devices at all times.
DANGER of accidents due to impaired perception
~ Surrounding noises may sound different than usual. Never use the
headphones during activities when you must be attentively aware of your surroundings, particularly when operating machinery or vehicles in traffic. (This also applies to bicycles.) You must also comply with the legal provisions and regulations of the country in which you are using the device.
DANGER of affecting cardiac pacemakers

The magnetic fields generated by the headphones may impair the func­tioning of heart pacemakers and implanted defibrillators. You must there­fore maintain a minimum distance of 10 cm between the headphones and the heart pacemaker / defibrillator.

WARNING! Risk of hearing damage
~
Set a low volume on the audio device before you connect the headphones to the sound source.
~ Avoid excessive volumes, particularly over extended periods or in the
case of frequent use. Excessive volume can r esult in permanent hearing damage.
DANGER from the battery
~ The devic e is provided with a lithium polymer battery.
- The battery cannot be removed.
- This device must not be opened.
- Completely dispose of the device.
~ Because of the high power consumption, do not charge the head-
phones through a laptop / PC. Only char ge the headphone s via a USB power unit (min. 750 mA, not included in the items supplied).
~ When using a USB power unit, the wall socket used must always be
easily accessible so that, in a dangerous situation, the USB power unit can be disconnected quickly from the wall socket. Observe also the user instructions of the USB power unit.
~ Do not use the device if there is visible damage to the housing or the
USB charger cable.
~ This device must not be thrown into fire. DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
The device must not be cover ed while the battery is charged.
~
~ The device must only be charged in a dry environment. ~ Foreign bodies must not be inserted into any of the components of the
headphones.
~ Do not expose the device to direct sunshine or heat. The ambient tem-
perature should not be lower than 10 °C or higher than 40 °C. Please remember that in a car the storage temperature may significantly ex­ceed 40 °C.
~ The battery may only be charged with the original accessory (USB
charger cable).

WARNING! Risk of material damage
~ If you notice any irregularities (e.g. unusual noises, strange smells or
smoke developing) turn the device off immediately and remove all ca­bles. Do not use the device any longer.
~ If the device is moved from a cold location to a warm location, conden-
sate may form in the device. Leave the device switched off for a few hours to become acclimatised.
~ Protect the device against damage, e.g. from:
- Drips and splashes of water
- Heat, direct sun radiation and open flames (e.g. candles)
- Knocks and similar violent effects
~ Protect the cable against damage, e.g. from:
- Sharp edges
-Hot places
- Clamping or crushing
~ Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
In order to avoid any hazar ds, do not make modifications to the device.

Repairs must be carried out by a spec ialist workshop or the Service Centre.
Notes on Bluetooth
~ Radio waves are potentially able to affect or even interfere with the op-
eration of heart pacemakers, (sensitive) electronic devices and other ra­dio waves (e.g. WLAN). Therefore, please observe the following notes.
- P eople wearing heart pacemakers should maintain a distance of 20 cm between heart pacemaker / defibrillator and the device.
- Radio waves may cause interferences, e.g. in mobile phones or hearing aids.
- Do not use the device in areas subject to explosion hazards.
- Do not use the device in the vicinity of microwave ovens or devices generating magnetic fields.

Remove all packing materials.
Check that the device is undamaged. A damaged devic e must never be used.
If the delivery is incomplete or defective, please contact the responsible service centre of the manufacturer (see “Warranty of HOYER Handel GmbH” on page 20).
5. Before using for the first time
WARNING!
~ Because of the high power consumption, do not charge the head-
phones through a laptop / PC. Only char ge the headphone s via a USB power unit (min. 750 mA, not included in the items supplied).
~ The device must not be covered while the battery is charged. ~ The device must only be charged in a dry environment.
NOTES:
When using a USB power unit (not included in items supplied), comply with its user instructions.
Charge the battery fully before using the device.
The maximum battery capacity is reached after approx. 4-5 charging cycles.
The charging time of an empty battery is approx. 2.5 hours.
It is not possible to playback whilst charging.

5.1 Charging the battery
1. Connect the Micro USB plug of the USB charger cable| port|

2. Connect the USB A plug of the USB charg er cable|14 with a USB pow- er unit (min. 750 mA, not included in the items supplied). All of the LEDs|16 are lit steadily, if the battery is fully charged.

5.2 Functions of the buttons
NOTES:
Reaching the maximum settable volume is signalled by the headphones via a double beep.
It is possible, that not all of the functions will be supported by all mobile phones.

5.3 Establishing a Bluetooth connection
NOTES:
The identification of the device is “SKBT|4|B2”.
After turning it on, the device automatically tries to rec onnect to the last paired device.
Please note that establishing the connection may vary slightly depend­ing on the device and the software us ed.
The device switches off if no Bluetooth connection can be established within 10 minutes.
If you pass the device on to someone else, in order to protect your data and your privacy, you should disconnect the Bluetooth connection to the device and delete it from the connection list on your smartphone.
1. Pr ess the button|6 to switch on the devic e. An audio signal sounds and the LED on the button|6 lights up. The charging indicator|16 shows briefly the charging state of the battery.
2. Switch on the audio device (e.g. smartphone) and start the Bluetooth connection.
3. The audio device will now receive the device identification “SKBT|4|B2”. If nothing happens, press button |5 until the LED on the button|6 flashes.
4. Establish a connection to the headphones on the audio device. If you are asked for a password, enter “0000”. Both devices are now inter­connected. The LED on the button|6 lights up and an audio signal is heard.
NOTE: usually, audio devices r emember the identification of the device. In this case, it may not be necessary to establish the connection manually again if the Bluetooth function is activated.
5. Now, start the playback of a music track at the audio device. The sound is played by the headphones.
6. Use the |19, |21 and |18 buttons to select and control the mu­sic track.

5.4 Calls via Bluetooth
If the device is connected to a smartphone it is possible for you to accept phone calls. The ring tone is repr oduced via the headphones and the music playback is interrupted.
NOTES:
For some mobile phones you have to choose Bluetooth as audio sour c e when accepting a call.
It is possible, that not all of the functions will be supported by all mobile phones.
1. Press the button |18 briefly to accept the call.
2. Adjust the volume during the phone call using the buttons |19 and
|21.
3. Press the button |18 briefly during the phone call to end the call. If you have accepted the call while the music was playing, the song will continue to be played after ending the phone call.
5.5 Interruption of the connection
The connection is interrupted if …
… one of the devices is switched off; … the Bluetooth function is switched off; … the range (approx. 10 metres) is exceeded;
… You press the button |5, until the LED on the button|6 flashes. In
this case, a new connection to another device can be established im­mediately.

5.6 Playing music back using the cable

1. The 3.5 mm jack cable|10 has 2 different jacks. Insert the 4-pole jack|13 into the headphone socket of the sound source (e.g. smart­phone, MP3 player) and the 3-pole jack|8 into the jack socket|7 on the device.
2. Switch on the audio device.
3. Start playback on the audio device. The sound is reproduced via the headphones.
4. Use the button|12 at the 3.5 mm jack cable|10 to select and control the music track. The volume is controlled via the audio device.
5.7 Calls via cable
1. Briefly press the button|12 at the 3.5|mm jack cable|10 to pick up the call.
2. Adjust the volume during the phone call via the smartphone.
3. Press the button|12 briefly during the phone call to end the call. If you have accepted the call while the music was playing, the song will con­tinue to be played after ending the phone call.

5.8 Put on the headphones
1. Put on the headphones in such a way that the marking R is on the right and L is on the left.
2. Figure B: adjust the size of the headphones to your head size using the two adjustable headphone earcups|4 and|9 by pulling out or push­ing in both handles|2.
3. Set the volume at the sound source or the headphones. Mak e absolutely sure that you ar e still able to hear the ambient noise.
6. Transport
The headphones can be folded to save space and transported with the sup­plied transport bag.
1. Figures B+C: place the headphone earcups|4 and|9 in the position shown in|Figure C by pushing them in.
2. Figure D: fold the headphone earcups|4 and |9 inwards into the head­set|1.
7. Cleaning
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
~ Protect the device from water drops and water splashes. ~ Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
If necessary, clean the device with a soft, damp cloth.
8. Storage
When no longer using the device, store it in a place where neither high temperatures nor moisture can affect it.
Charge the battery before storing the device away for a prolonged pe­riod. Please note that if the device is stored for too long, this may re­duce the battery capacity. Avoid a deep discharge of the battery.

9. Disposal
The battery integrated into this device must not be disposed of in household waste. The device must be disposed of properly with the battery installed.
This product is subject to the pr ovisions of Eur opean Directive 2012/19/EC. The symbol showing a wheelie bin crossed through indicates that the product requir es separate refus e col­lection in the European Union. This applies to the pr oduct and all accessories marked with this symbol. Products identified with this symbol may not be discarded with normal household waste, but must be taken to a collection point for r ecycling electric and electronic appli­ances. Recycling helps to r educ e the c onsumption of r aw materials and pr o­tect the environment.
Packaging
When disposing of the packaging, make sure you comply with the environ­mental regulations applicable in your country.
