Intended use
This appliance is intended only for the heating of indoor living spaces and only for domestic use. This appliance is not intended for use in areas where special conditions may apply, such as corrosive or potentially explosive atmospheres (dust, vapour or gas). Do not use the appliance outdoors. It is not intended for any other use.

There is a risk of electrocution if live connections are touched and the
electrical and mechanical structure is changed.

Basic safety guidelines
To ensure safe handling of the appliance, follow the safety guidelines set out below
Prior to use, check the appliance for visible, external damage.
Do not operate an appliance that has been damaged or dropped.
If the appliance's mains power cable is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's customer service department or by a qualifi ed technician so that risks can be avoided.
This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years
or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are being supervised or have been instructed with regard to the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks. Children must not use the appliance as a plaything. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are under supervision.

All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist com-
panies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose signifi cant risks to the user. Warranty entitle­ment will also lapse.
Defective components must always be replaced with original
replacement parts. Only by using original replacement parts can it be assured that the safety requirements are being com­plied with.
Protect the appliance from moisture and from the ingress of
fl uids.
Always disconnect the power cable from the mains power
socket with the plug, never pull on the cable.
Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of open fl ames.
The appliance must not be placed immediately under or over
a mains power socket.
Disconnect the plug from the mains power socket if the appli-
ance malfunctions and also during thunderstorms.
The appliance must not be used in the immediate vicinity of
a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
The appliance is to be installed so that a person in the bath
or shower is unable to touch the switch and other controls.
Do not expose the appliance to spray and/or dripping water
and do not place any objects fi lled with liquid, such as vases or open drink containers, on or near the appliance.

Risk of injury if batteries are improperly handled
WARNING
Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children
can put batteries into their mouth and swallow them. If
a battery has been swallowed, seek medical assistance
immediately.
Do not throw batteries into a fi re. Never subject batteries
to high temperatures.
Risk of explosion! Do not charge batteries unless they
are explicitly labelled as "rechargeable".
Do not open the batteries or short-circuit them.Do not mix diff erent types of batteries. Due to increased
risk of leakage, empty batteries should be removed.
The batteries should also be removed from the remote
control if it is not being used for long periods.
Battery acid leaking from a battery can cause skin irrita-
tion. In event of contact with the skin, rinse with copious
amounts of water. If the liquid comes into contact with
your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water, do not rub and
immediately consult a doctor.

Initial operation
Contents of package and transport inspection
The appliance is supplied with the following components as standard:

Check the consignment for completeness and for signs of visible damage.
► ► If the consignment is incomplete or damaged due to defective packaging
or carriage, contact the Service hotline (see the chapter Service).
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during carriage. The pack­aging materials have been selected in accordance with environmentally- com­patible and disposal-specifi c parameters and are, therefore, recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the materials cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE
If possible, keep the original packaging of the appliance during the warranty
period so that the appliance can be packed properly for returning in the
event of a warranty claim.

Set-up location requirements
DANGER
Fire risk through contact with materials! There is a risk of fi re if the heating elements come into contact
with fl ammable materials!
Do not place the appliance in the vicinity of curtains and other fl ammable
materials.
Do not allow fl ammable materials (e.g. textiles) to come into contact with
the appliance.
Do not cover the appliance.
For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the set-up location must fulfi l the following requirements:
The appliance must be placed on a fi rm, fl at and horizontal surface.
Minimum spacings to the housing of 50 cm to the sides, 50 cm above, 50 cm to
the rear and 100 cm to the front must be maintained.
Do not place the appliance in a hot, wet or extremely moist environment or in the
vicinity of fl ammable materials.
The mains power socket must be easily accessible so that the power cable can
be easily disconnected in an emergency.
Environmental temperature range: 0 to +40°C
Humidity (no condensation): 5–75%
Before initial use
Remove all packaging materials and all transport locks from the appliance.
NOTE

Light odour formation can occur during initial use. This is normal and is
completely harmless.

Electrical connection
To ensure safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance after making the electrical connection, please observe the following advice:
CAUTION
Before connecting the appliance, compare the connection data (voltage
and frequency) on the rating plate with that of your mains power supply. These data must agree so that no damage is sustained by the appliance.
Ensure that the mains power cable is not damaged and is not running over
hot surfaces and/or sharp edges.
Ensure that the mains power cable is not taut or knotted.
Insert the power plug into a mains wall socket.
Inserting the battery
If the battery in the remote control is empty, a new CR2032 battery needs to be inserted.
Press the locking tab to one side and pull out the battery compartment 24.

Remove the battery from the remote control.
NOTE
Please follow the disposal instructions (see chapter "Disposal of batteries").
Insert a new battery.
NOTE
Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/−) when inserting the battery.
The correct polarity is stamped on the battery compartment 24. The battery's negative pole should be facing upwards.
Slide the battery compartment 24 back into the remote control .

Activate the appliance by selecting the heat level. To do this, press the func-
tion selector 12 or 25 until the desired heat level is shown in the display 11:

The appliance has a swivel function. This will cause the appliance to swivel back and forth so that the warm air is more evenly distributed throughout the room.

Overheating protection
WARNING
As a general rule, there is a reason for overheating! It can mean a risk of fi re!
Check that the appliance can suffi ciently dissipate the heat generated:
Is the appliance covered or is it too close to a wall or other obstacle? Are the grilles on the front or back clear? Is the ventilator blocked?
If possible, eliminate the problem or contact the Service Hotline (see the
chapter Service).
Even if you cannot fi nd a cause, but the overheating protection triggers
a second time, you must return the appliance to Customer Services for inspection or repair.
The appliance is fi tted with an overheating protector! If the appliance becomes too hot internally, it switches itself off automatically. As soon as the appliance has cooled itself down, the heating element switches itself back on.
Frost protection function
The appliance is equipped with a frost protection function which automatically switches to the high heat output as soon as the room temperature falls below 6°C. As soon as the room temperature reaches 10°C the appliance automati­cally switches to standby mode.
Activate the main switch 10 to switch the appliance on and to shift into

The appliance is fi tted with a safety switch 5. If the fan heater tips over, it switches itself off automatically. The fan heater can only be switched back on when it is in an upright position and the safety switch 5 has been activated.

Cleaning
CAUTION
Possible damage to the appliance.
Penetrating moisture can cause damage to the appliance.
Clean the housing only with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent.
Remove dust deposits on the protective screen with a vacuum cleaner.
Storage
Disconnect the mains power plug if you do not intend to use the appliance for an
extended period of time.
Remove the battery from the remote control.
Store the appliance in a dry environment.
Disposal
Under no circumstances should you dispose of the appliance in normal household waste. This product is subject to the provisions of the European WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2012/19/EU.
Dispose of the appliance via an approved waste disposal company or your municipal waste disposal facility. Please observe applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal facility if you are in any doubt.

Disposal of batteries
Used batteries may not be disposed of in household waste. Batteries can contain poisons which are damaging to the environment. Therefore, dispose of the batter­ies/rechargeable batteries in accordance with statutory regulations.
All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their his community/city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner.
Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Customer Service Department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
NOTICE
This product is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorised service branch.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period is not extended by repairs made under the warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts.
Damages and defects extant at the time of purchase must be reported immedi­ately after unpacking, resp. no later than two days after the date of purchase.
