DANGER of electrocution
•Do not operate the appliance if it or the
power cable show signs of damage or
the appliance has been dropped.
•Extension cables must be designed for
min. 10 amp.
•Arrange the power cable and any extension cable so that nobody can tread
on them, trip or catch their foot.
•Before connecting the appliance,
check that the temperature controller is
set to the “0” mark.
•Connect the power plug only to a correctly installed, easily accessible
socket with an earthing contact with
voltage corresponding to the rating
plate. The wall socket must also be
easily accessible after connection.
•Take care that the power cable is not
damaged by sharp edges or hot surfaces. Do not wind the power cable
around the appliance but into the base
of the heating unit.
•Even after it has been switched off, the
appliance has not been completely disconnected from the mains. To do this,
remove the power plug.
•When setting up the appliance, make
sure that the power cable is not
trapped or crushed.
•When removing the power plug from
the wall socket, always pull the plug,
never the cable.

avoid overloading the power network.
•To avoid any risk, do not make modifications to the product. The power cable must not be replaced by a nonspecialist. Repairs must be carried out
by a specialist workshop or at the Service Center.
DANGER of injury from burns
•Danger to life from burns. Make sure
that children cannot pull the appliance
off the work surface by the power cable.
•Danger from explosive deflagration.
Make sure you use oil that is fresh,
clean and suitable for a fondue. Old,
used or unsuitable oil may ignite even
at low temperatures. Should the oil
catch fire during the fondue, do not try
to put it out with water under any circumstances. Smother the fire with a
saucepan lid of appropriate size or a
woollen blanket.
•Warning about burns caused by
splashes of hot liquid when dipping
food into the pot: dry food off beforehand and protect hands and forearms

DANGER of injury from cuts
•Do not eat directly from the fondue
forks as they are very sharp.
WARNING about material damage
•The stainless steel pot must be filled at
least up to the lower mark indicating
the minimum filling level, as less content can quickly overheat.
•Only use genuine accessories.
•The appliance is fitted with non-slip
rubber feet. As furniture is coated with
various varnishes and plastics and
may be treated with different cleaning
products, it cannot be completely ruled
out that some of these substances contain components which may attack and
soften the rubber feet. If necessary,
place a non-slip mat under the appliance.
•Oil may splash out when the electric
fondue is in use. You should therefore
place the appliance on a surface that is
resistant to both heat and grease.
•Do not pour liquid fat down the sink:
when it cools, it may block the drains
(see “Emptying the stainless steel pot”
page 7).
•Make sure that the surface under the
appliance is dry.
•Never place the heating unit on hot
surfaces (e.g. hotplates) or near
sources of heat or open flame.
•Do not use any astringent or abrasive
cleaning agents.
3.Using for the first time
•Remove all packing material.
•Check whether all accessories are
present and undamaged.
•Rinse the stainless steel pot 2, the
splash guard 1 and the fondue forks 11
with a mild detergent and dry all parts
with great care.
•Place the appliance on a dry, flat, nonslip surface. This surface should also
be heat-resistant and not liable to be
damaged by splashes of hot oil.
TIP: When being used for the first time, a
small amount of smoke and a slight odour
may occur. This is due to the assembly materials used for the heating element and is
not a fault in the product. Ensure sufficient
ventilation.

5.Operation
DANGER! Danger from explosive
deflagration. Make sure you use
oil that is fresh, clean and suitable
for a fondue. Old, used or unsuitable oil may ignite even at low
temperatures. Should the oil catch
fire during the fondue, do not try to
put it out with water under any circumstances. Smother the fire with
a saucepan lid of appropriate size
or a woollen blanket.
•The stainless steel pot 2, splash
guard 1 and fondue forks 11 become
very hot during a fondue. Make sure
you protect your hands, e. g. with oven
gloves, and only grasp the fondue
forks 11 by the handle.
•Danger of burns caused by splashes of
hot liquid when dipping food into the pot:
dry food off beforehand and protect
hands and forearms with oven gloves.
•To prevent it from overflowing during
heating, the stainless steel pot 2
should not be filled beyond the upper
mark indicating the maximum filling
level 10.
1. Add oil, stock or cheese to the pot
depending on the intended use. The
contents must come between the two
filling level marks 9+10 in the pot.
2. Place the splash guard 1 on the pot.
3. Oil and stock: turn the temperature
controller 6 clockwise to the end stop
to heat the pot and its contents. All of
the red indicator LEDs 8 light up. The
appliance will now heat up.
Cheese: turn the temperature controller 6 to one of the first red indicator
LEDs 8 to melt the cheese carefully,
stirring as it melts. Increase or reduce
the setting depending on the way in
which the cheese you are using melts.
TIP: The temperature controller 6 allows
you to freely select a lower temperature after initially heating up the pot. This is advisable, for example, in order to keep the
temperature of the contents at just below
boiling point.
4. Push the dried pieces of food onto the
fondue forks 11 and place in the oil,
stock or cheese.
5. Oil and stock: take the fondue forks 11
out when the food has cooked as far as
you require.
Cheese: drag the fondue forks 11
through the melted cheese, turning
them as you do so to coat the food in
cheese.
6. At the end of the fondue, switch the
temperature controller 6 to the green
indicator LED 7, unplug the appliance
and wait until all parts have cooled
down before starting cleaning.
6.Cleaning
DANGER! Remove the plug from
the socket before cleaning the
electric fondue.
•Do not immerse the heating unit 4, the
power cable 3 or the power plug in water or any other liquid.
•Leave all parts to cool down fully before emptying the pot and cleaning.
•The fondue forks 11 are very sharp.
WARNING! Do not use any astringent or
abrasive cleaning agents.
•Do not pour liquid fat down the sink:
when it cools, it may block the drains.

Accessories
•Clean the stainless steel pot 2, splash
guard 1 and fondue forks 11 with a mild
detergent.
Emptying the stainless steel pot
Fat that becomes hard when it cools down
can generally be removed as a lump by
turning the pot over. Liquid fat can best be
poured back into a container, e.g. the original container, using a funnel. Dispose of
old fat via your local disposal facility or discard with household waste.
TIP: Food or fat that has got burnt on is often easier to remove if you fill the pot with
water, add a sachet of baking soda and
leave to stand overnight.
7.Storage
DANGER! The electric fondue
should be kept out of the reach of
children.
•Do not wind the power cable 3 around
the appliance but into the base 5 of the
heating unit 4.
•Clean all parts and make sure they are
properly dry before putting away the
electric fondue.
8.Disposal
The symbol showing a
wheelie bin crossed through
