Volumen de suministro
El aparato se suministra de serie con los siguientes componentes:
▯ Afilador eléctrico de cuchillos
▯ Adaptador de red
▯ Instrucciones de uso
1) Extraiga todas las piezas del aparato y las instrucciones de uso de la caja.
2) Retire todos los materiales de embalaje del aparato.
INDICACIÓN
► Compruebe la integridad del suministro y si hay daños visibles.
► Si el suministro está incompleto o presenta daños debido a un embalaje
deficiente o al transporte, póngase en contacto con la línea directa de
asistencia técnica (consulte el capítulo Garantía y asistencia técnica).
Desecho del embalaje
El embalaje protege el aparato durante el transporte. El material de embalaje
se ha seleccionado teniendo en cuenta criterios ecológicos y de desecho, por
lo que es reciclable.
El reciclaje del embalaje permite ahorrar en materias primas y reduce el volumen
de residuos. Deseche el material de embalaje innecesario de la forma dispuesta
por las normativas locales aplicables.
INDICACIÓN
► Si es posible, conserve el embalaje original durante el periodo de garantía
del aparato para poder empaquetarlo correctamente en caso de una
reclamación conforme a la garantía.

Duración del funcionamiento
corto
La duración del funcionamiento corto (funcionamiento por un corto periodo
de tiempo) indica el tiempo durante el que un aparato puede funcionar
sin que el motor se sobrecaliente ni se dañe. Una vez transcurrida la
duración del funcionamiento corto indicada, deberá apagarse el aparato
hasta que el motor se haya enfriado hasta alcanzar la temperatura ambiente (aprox. 20 minutos).

Indicaciones de seguridad
PELIGRO DE DESCARGA ELÉCTRICA
► Proteja el aparato contra la humedad. Utilice el aparato
exclusivamente en lugares secos, nunca al aire libre ni en
ambientes húmedos.
► Asegúrese de que el cable no se dañe durante el funciona-
miento, especialmente con las hojas afiladas de los cuchillos.
► Si la clavija de red o el cable de red están dañados, enco-
miende su sustitución al personal técnico autorizado o al
servicio de asistencia técnica con el fin de evitar riesgos.
► No abra nunca ninguna de las piezas de la carcasa.
¡No sumerja nunca el aparato en agua ni en otros
líquidos! De lo contrario, existe peligro de muerte por
descarga eléctrica.
► Desconecte siempre el aparato de la corriente eléctrica
después de utilizarlo o si pretende ausentarse. El aparato
estará sometido a la tensión eléctrica mientras la clavija de
red esté enchufada en la base de enchufe.
► Asegúrese de que el enchufe esté siempre accesible para
poder extraerlo rápidamente de la base de enchufe en caso
de peligro.
► Este aparato solo debe utilizarse con el suministro de
tensión proporcionado.
Utilice el adaptador de red / el aparato exclusivamente
en espacios interiores.

► Evite el contacto del pelo, de las prendas holgadas de ropa
o de las partes del cuerpo con la piedra de afilar en giro.
► Utilice guantes protectores para evitar lesiones con las hojas
afiladas de los cuchillos.
► Los niños no deben utilizar el aparato.
► Desconecte el aparato de la red eléctrica siempre que no
esté bajo vigilancia y antes de su montaje, desmontaje y
limpieza.
► El aparato y su cable de conexión deben mantenerse fuera
del alcance de los niños.
► Los niños no deben jugar con el aparato.
► Este aparato puede ser utilizado por personas cuyas faculta-
des físicas, sensoriales o mentales sean reducidas o carezcan de los conocimientos y de la experiencia necesaria
siempre que sean vigiladas o hayan sido instruidas correctamente sobre el uso seguro del aparato y hayan comprendido los peligros que entraña.
► Utilice exclusivamente el aparato si las cubiertas están co-
rrectamente montadas sobre las piedras de afilar.

► No utilice este aparato para el afilado en húmedo.
► No utilice este aparato para afilar cuchillos de sierra o cuchillas
dentadas. El afilado dejaría romos el filo de sierra o los dientes,
con lo que el cuchillo quedaría inservible.

Preparativos
1) Conecte el conector del adaptador de red en la conexión del
aparato.
2) Coloque el aparato sobre una superficie uniforme.
3) Inserte el adaptador de red en una base de enchufe.
4) Encienda el aparato por medio del interruptor de encendido/apagado .
INDICACIÓN
► Los cuchillos que desee afilar deben estar libres de suciedad y de restos de
alimentos.
Afilado de cuchillos
¡ATENCIÓN: DAÑOS MATERIALES!
► No supere nunca la duración máxima de funcionamiento de 2 minutos.
Tras 2 minutos de funcionamiento, deje que el aparato se enfríe durante
aprox. 20 minutos antes de volver a utilizarlo.
► No presione firmemente la hoja contra la piedra de afilar, ya que se dañaría
y no aceleraría el proceso de afilado.
► Para afilar los cuchillos cerámicos, utilice exclusivamente la base de afilado
2 .

Filo bilateral liso
En el filo bilateral, la hoja del cuchillo está afilada por ambos lados de la superficie de corte. El filo liso se caracteriza por la hoja lisa del cuchillo; esto es, sin
serrado ni dentado.
INDICACIONES PARA EL USO DEL APARATO
► Evite cortar la carcasa de plástico del aparato con la hoja del cuchillo
durante el afilado.
No obstante, el corte accidental de la carcasa no afecta al funcionamiento
del aparato.
► Para afilar los cuchillos cerámicos, utilice exclusivamente la base de afilado
2 . Para ello, siga las instrucciones a partir del paso 3).
► Utilice solo las dos ranuras de la base de afilado 1 para cuchillos muy
desafilados. Para ello, siga las instrucciones a partir del paso 1).
1) Sujete el aparato firmemente con la mano izquierda.
2) Agarre el cuchillo por el mango y pase la hoja del cuchillo con un movimiento
uniforme una vez por la ranura izquierda y otra por la derecha de la base
de afilado 1 .
Durante el afilado, ejerza una ligera presión en dirección a la piedra de
afilar para garantizar un contacto uniforme con el cuchillo.
INDICACIÓN
► Es posible que sea necesario pasar los cuchillos muy desafilados con
mayor frecuencia por las ranuras de afilado.

INDICACIÓN
► Utilice las dos ranuras de las bases de afilado / con la misma fre-
cuencia para obtener un afilado uniforme.
3) A continuación, agarre el cuchillo por el mango y pase la hoja del cuchillo
con un movimiento uniforme y de forma alterna por la ranura izquierda y la
derecha de la base de afilado 2 .
En caso necesario, pase la hoja varias veces por las dos ranuras de la base
de afilado 2 .
Generalmente, basta con pasar la hoja del cuchillo 2 veces de forma lenta
(aprox. 4-6 segundos) y 2 veces de forma rápida (aprox. 1-2 segundos)
por ambas ranuras de la base de afilado 2 :

► Es posible que sea necesario pasar los cuchillos muy desafilados con
mayor frecuencia por las ranuras de afilado.
4) Cuando piense que la hoja está lo suficientemente afilada, realice un corte
de prueba.
Vuelva a limpiar la hoja antes de cualquier afilado posterior.
5) Si desea seguir afilando la hoja, vuelva a pasarla de forma alterna por las
ranuras de la base de afilado 2 hasta alcanzar el filo deseado.
6) Una vez esté satisfecho con el resultado, apague el aparato con el interruptor
de encendido/apagado .
7) Limpie minuciosamente la hoja del cuchillo antes de volver a utilizarlo para
eliminar cualquier residuo de la piedra de afilar, como polvo o fragmentos
metálicos.

Filo unilateral liso
En el filo unilateral, uno de los lados de la hoja es totalmente recto hasta el filo
y el otro desciende de forma oblicua hasta el filo del cuchillo. Este lado oblicuo
es la superficie afilada. El filo unilateral puede ser liso o contar con pequeños
dientes, como, por ejemplo, el de los cuchillos de mesa. No obstante, con este
aparato solo pueden afilarse los filos lisos.
INDICACIONES PARA EL USO DEL APARATO
► Evite cortar la carcasa de plástico del aparato con la hoja del cuchillo
durante el afilado.
No obstante, el corte accidental de la carcasa no afecta al funcionamiento
del aparato.
► Utilice la base de afilado 1 solo para cuchillos muy desafilados. Para
ello, siga las instrucciones a partir del paso 1).
► Para los cuchillos de filo unilateral, afile exclusivamente el lado afilado de
la hoja. Utilice solo la ranura derecha o la ranura izquierda de la base de
afilado 1 /2 según dónde se encuentre el lado afilado de la hoja.
► Para afilar los cuchillos cerámicos, utilice exclusivamente la base de afilado
2 .

En caso de suciedad incrustada, añada al paño un producto de limpieza
suave.
■ Limpie el adaptador de red con un paño húmedo. Asegúrese de que el
aparato y el adaptador de red vuelvan a estar completamente secos
antes de volver a utilizar el aparato.

■ Si se utiliza el aparato de forma frecuente, es posible que se depositen
restos de polvo y de metal en las piedras de afilar internas.
Limpie las piedras de afilar de la siguiente manera:

sido fabricado cuidadosamente y ha sido probado antes de su entrega.
Guarde el comprobante de caja como justificante de compra. Si necesitara
hacer uso de la garantía, póngase en contacto por teléfono con su punto de
servicio habitual. Éste es el único modo de garantizar un envío gratuito.
ADVERTENCIA
► La garantía cubre los defectos de fabricación o del material, pero no los
daños de transporte, las piezas sujetas a desgaste o los daños sufridos por
las piezas frágiles (p. ej. el interruptor o las pilas).
Este producto ha sido diseñado exclusivamente para el uso particular y no para
el uso industrial. En caso de manipulación indebida e incorrecta, uso de la fuerza
y en caso de abrir el aparato personas extrañas a nuestros centros de asistencia
técnica autorizados, la garantía pierde su validez.
Esta garantía no reduce en forma alguna sus derechos legales. La duración de
la garantía no se prolonga con la garantía de reparaciones. Lo mismo sucede
con las piezas que se hayan cambiado o reparado.
Los daños y defectos que puedan estar presentes en el momento de la compra
deberán notificarse inmediatamente después del desembalado o como máximo
dos días después de la fecha de compra.
Una vez transcurrido el periodo de garantía, deberá abonarse el costo de las

Volume della fornitura

1) Rimuovere dal cartone tutte le parti dell'apparecchio e il manuale di istruzioni.
2) Rimuovere dall‘apparecchio tutto il materiale d‘imballaggio.
AVVERTENZA
► Controllare se la fornitura è integra e se presenta danni visibili.
► In caso di fornitura incompleta o in presenza di danni derivanti da imbal-
laggio insufficiente o causati dal trasporto, rivolgersi alla Hotline di assistenza (v. capitolo Garanzia e assistenza).
Smaltimento della confezione
L'imballaggio protegge l'apparecchio dai danni da trasporto. I materiali di
imballaggio sono stati selezionati in relazione alla loro ecocompatibilità e alle
caratteristiche di smaltimento e pertanto sono riciclabili.
Il riciclo dell'imballaggio consente di risparmiare materie prime e riduce la generazione di rifiuti. Smaltire il materiale di imballaggio inutilizzato in conformità
alle norme vigenti locali.

► Durante il periodo di validità della garanzia, se possibile, conservare
l'imballaggio originale per poter imballare adeguatamente l'apparecchio

PERICOLO DI SCOSSA ELETTRICA
► Proteggere il prodotto dall'umidità. Utilizzarlo solo in luoghi
asciutti, non all'aperto o in ambiente umido.
► Assicurarsi che durante il funzionamento il cavo di rete non
possa danneggiarsi in particolare con le lame affilate dei
coltelli.
► Al fine di evitare pericoli, fare sostituire immediatamente
spine o cavi danneggiati da personale specializzato autorizzato o dal centro di assistenza clienti.
► Non aprire mai i componenti dell'alloggiamento.
Non immergere mai l'apparecchio in acqua o altri liquidi!
Sussiste altrimenti pericolo di morte per folgorazione.
► Dopo l'uso o in assenza staccare sempre la spina dalla
presa. Nel prodotto rimane una tensione di rete fintanto che
la spina è nella presa.
► Fare in modo che la spina sia sempre raggiungibile per po-
terla staccare rapidamente dalla presa in caso di pericolo.
► Questo apparecchio può essere usato solo con l’alimentazione
di corrente elettrica in dotazione.

fettamente funzionante. Se sono riconoscibili danni, non
continuare a usare l'apparecchio. Fare prima effettuare una
verifica della sicurezza dal servizio clienti.
► Assicurarsi che capelli, abiti pendenti o parti del corpo non
entrino in contatto con la mola rotante.
► Indossare guanti protettivi per evitare lesioni con le lame
affilate.
► Questo apparecchio non deve essere utilizzato dai bambini.
► Staccare sempre l'apparecchio dalla rete in caso di assenza
di sorveglianza e prima del montaggio, dello smontaggio o
della pulizia.
► Tenere lontani i bambini dall'apparecchio e dal relativo cavo.
► I bambini non devono giocare con l'apparecchio.
► Questo apparecchio può essere utilizzato da persone con
capacità fisiche, sensoriali o mentali ridotte o insufficiente
esperienza o conoscenza, solo se sorvegliate o istruite

► Utilizzare l'apparecchio solo se le coperture sono corretta-

Preparativi
1) Collegare la spina dell'adattatore di rete alla presa che si trova
sull'apparecchio.
2) Appoggiare l'apparecchio su una base piana.
3) Inserire l'adattatore di rete in una presa di rete.
4) Accendere l'apparecchio dall'interruttore ON/OFF .
AVVERTENZA
► Le lame che si desidera molare devono essere prive di impurità e residui di
cibo!
Affilatura dei coltelli
ATTENZIONE - DANNI MATERIALI!
► Non superare mai il tempo massimo di esercizio di 2 minuti. Dopo 2 minuti
di esercizio fare raffreddare l'apparecchio per circa 20 minuti prima di
riutilizzarlo.
► Non esercitare alcuna pressione con la lama sulla molla, questa danneggia
la lama e non accelera l'operazione di molatura.
► Per molare i coltelli con lame in ceramica utilizzare esclusivamente la base
2 .

Molatura bilaterale liscia
Nella molatura bilaterale la lama del coltello viene molata da entrambi i lati
verso il tagliente. La molatura liscia è caratterizzata dal fatto che la lama del
coltello è liscia, ossia non sono integrate ondulature o denti.
AVVERTENZE PER L'USO DELL'APPARECCHIO
► Evitare di tagliare con la lama facendola passare nell'alloggiamento di
plastica dell'apparecchio.
Tagli accidentali nell'alloggiamento tuttavia non compromettono il funzionamento dell'apparecchio.
► Per molare i coltelli con lame in ceramica utilizzare esclusivamente la base
2 . Seguire a tal fine le istruzioni dalla fase 3).
► Utilizzare le due fessure della base 1 esclusivamente per coltelli partico-
larmente spuntati. Seguire a tal fine le istruzioni dalla fase 1).
1) Tenere fermo l'apparecchio con la mano sinistra.
2) Tenere il coltello in mano e tirare la lama con un movimento uniforme una
volta attraverso la fessura sinistra e una volta attraverso la fessura destra
della base 1 .
Durante l'affilatura esercitare una lieve pressione in direzione della mola per
garantire un contatto uniforme con il coltello.

AVVERTENZA
► Utilizzare le due fessure delle basi / con la stessa frequenza per
ottenere un'affilatura uniforme.
3) Tenere il coltello in mano e tirare la lama in modo alternato con un movimento uniforme attraverso la fessura sinistra e destra della base 2 .
Tirare la lama, se necessario, più volte attraverso le due fessura della base
2 .
Nel caso normale è sufficiente tirare la lama 2 volte lentamente (circa 4 -
6 secondi) e 2 volte velocemente (circa 1 - 2 secondi), facendola passare
dalle due fessure della base 2 :

► Coltelli molto spuntati devono eventualmente essere trattati più spesso.
4) Se si pensa che la lama abbia raggiunto il livello di affilatura desiderato,
testara con una prova di taglio.
In ogni caso ripulire la lama prima di eventualmente molarla ancora.
5) Per molare ancora tirare la lama ulteriormente in modo alternato attraverso
le fessure della base 2 , fino a ottenere il livello di affilatura desiderato.
6) Se si è soddisfatti del risultato, spegnere l'apparecchio con l'interruttore
ON/OFF .
7) Per eliminare eventuali residui di molatura come polvere di metallo o trucioli,
pulire a fondo la lama prima di riutilizzare il coltello.

Molatura unilaterale liscia
Nella molatura monolaterale, un lato della lama si estende in modo assolutamente rettilineo verso la lama, l‘altro lato diagonalmente fino alla lama del
coltello. Il lato diagonale è il lato molato. La molatura unilaterale può essere
liscia o presentare piccoli denti, come nel caso dei coltelli da tavola. Con questo
apparecchio si possono tuttavia molare solo lame con molatura liscia.
AVVERTENZE PER L'USO DELL'APPARECCHIO
► Evitare di tagliare con la lama facendola passare nell'alloggiamento di
plastica dell'apparecchio.
Tagli accidentali nell'alloggiamento non compromettono tuttavia il funzionamento dell'apparecchio.
► Utilizzare la base 1 esclusivamente per coltelli particolarmente spuntati.
Seguire a tal fine le istruzioni dalla fase 1).
► Nei coltelli con molatura unilaterale affilare solo il lato della lama su cui si
trova la molatura. Utilizzare solo la fessura destra o solo la fessura sinistra
della base 1 /2 , a seconda del lato sul quale la lama del coltello è
molata.
► Per molare i coltelli con lame in ceramica utilizzare esclusivamente la base
2 .
1) Tenere fermo l‘apparecchio con la mano sinistra.

AVVERTENZA

5) Per molare, tirare ancora la lama attraverso la fessura della base 2 fino
a ottenere il livello di affilatura desiderato.
6) Se si è soddisfatti del risultato, spegnere l‘apparecchio con l‘interruttore
ON/OFF .
7) Per eliminare eventuali residui di molatura come polvere di metallo o trucioli,
pulire a fondo la lama prima di riutilizzare il coltello.
PERICOLO DI SCOSSA ELETTRICA
► Dapprima staccare l'adattatore di rete dalla presa elettrica e la spina
dalla presa prima di pulire l'apparecchio.
Non immergere mai l'apparecchio in acqua o altri liquidi! Sussiste
altrimenti pericolo di morte per folgorazione.
ATTENZIONE - DANNI MATERIALI!
► Non utilizzare detergenti abrasivi o corrosivi. Essi attaccano la superficie
dell'apparecchio.
■ Pulire l'alloggiamento con un panno asciutto o uno straccio leggermente
inumidito. In caso di sporco resistente, versare un po' di detergente delicato
sul panno.
■ Strofinare l'adattatore di rete con un panno umido. Badare che l'appa-
recchio e l'adattatore di rete si siano completamente asciugati prima di
utilizzare nuovamente l'apparecchio.

■ In caso di utilizzo frequente possono depositarsi sulle mole interne polvere
di molatura e residui di metallo.
Pulire le mole nel modo seguente:
– fare presa con un dito contro l'estremità larga dei cappucci di prote-
zione neri delle basi / e premere contemporaneamente contro
l'estremità corta. Sollevare i cappucci di protezione delle basi /
contemporaneamente verso l'alto.
– Pulire le mole visibili con un pennello o simili.
– Rimettere i due cappucci di protezione neri /. Assicurarsi che i
cappucci di protezione non vengano scambiati.
Conservazione
■ Pulire l'apparecchio come descritto al capitolo “Pulizia”.
■ Rimuovere l'adattatore di rete dall'apparecchio.
■ Conservare l'apparecchio e l'adattatore di rete in un luogo asciutto e pulito.
Smaltimento
Non smaltire per alcun motivo l'apparecchio assieme ai normali
rifiuti domestici.
Questo prodotto è soggetto alla Direttiva europea 2012/19/EURAEE (Rifiuti da apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche).
Far smaltire l'apparecchio da un'azienda di smaltimento autorizzata o dall'ente
di smaltimento comunale. Rispettare le norme attualmente in vigore. In caso di
dubbi mettersi in contatto con l'ente di smaltimento competente.
Non smaltire assolutamente l‘adattatore di rete assieme ai normali rifiuti domestici. Questo prodotto è soggetto alla Direttiva

garanzia, mettersi in comunicazione telefonica con il centro assistenza più vicino.
Solo in questo modo è possibile garantire una spedizione gratuita della merce.

► La prestazione della garanzia vale solo per difetti del materiale o di fab-

1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.
2) Remove all packaging materials from the appliance.
NOTE
► Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible damage.
► If the delivery is not complete or has been damaged due to defective
packaging or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see section
Warranty and Service).
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during carriage.
The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness
and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials and
reduces the amount of waste which is generated. Dispose of packaging materials
that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE
► If possible, keep the original packaging of the appliance during the warranty
period so that the appliance can be packed properly for return shipment in
the event of a warranty claim.

Safety guidelines
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
► Protect the product from moisture. Only use it in dry rooms;
do not use outdoors or in moist environments.
► Ensure that the power cable cannot be damaged during
use, in particular not from sharp blades.
► To prevent accidents, have defective plugs and/or power
cables replaced immediately by an authorised specialist
technician or our Customer Service department.
► Never open any housing parts.
NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids!
Otherwise there is a risk of an electric shock.
► After use or during absences, always remove the plug from
the mains power socket. Mains voltage is on the product for
as long as the mains plug is in the socket.
► Ensure that the plug can be reached at all times in order to
be able to pull it out of the socket in case of danger.
► The appliance may only be used with the original power
supply.

► Check to ensure that the appliance is in a serviceable con-
dition before use. If there are visible damages, you may
not continue the use of the appliance. In that case, contact
customer service first to check the appliance for safety.
► Ensure that no hair, loose clothing or body parts come into
contact with the rotating grinding stone.
► Wear protective gloves to avoid injury from sharp blades.
► This appliance should not be used by children.
► The appliance should always be disconnected from the
mains when unattended and before assembly, disassembly
or cleaning.
► The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away
from children.
► Children must not use the appliance as a plaything.
► This appliance may be used by persons with limited physi-
cal, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision
or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are
aware of the potential risks.
► Use the appliance only if the covers are fitted properly on
the grinding stones.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
► Do not use this appliance for wet sharpening.
► Do not use this appliance for sharpening knives with serrated
edges or toothed blades. Sharpening would grind out the
serrated edges or the teeth and make the knife unusable.

Preparation
1) Connect the plug of the mains adapter with the socket on the
appliance.
2) Place the appliance on a suitable and level surface.
3) Connect the mains adapter into a power socket.
4) Switch on the appliance using the On/Off switch .
NOTE
► The knives you would like to sharpen must be free from dirt and food
residues!
Sharpen knives
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
► Never exceed the maximum operating time of 2 minutes. Let the appliance
cool down for about 20 minutes after 2 minutes of operation, before using
it again.
► Do not exert any firm pressure with the blade on the grinding stone – this
damages the blade and does not accelerate the sharpening process.
► To sharpen knives with ceramic blades, use only sharpening base 2 .

Double-sided smooth grind
For a double-sided grind, the blade of the knife is sharpened from both sides
toward the cutting edge. Smooth grind is characterised by the knife’s smooth
blade, meaning no waves or notches are ground in it.
NOTES ON THE HANDLING OF THE APPLIANCE
► Prevent that the blade cuts into the plastic housing of the appliance when it
is pulled through.
Accidental cuts into the housing, however, do not compromise the functioning
of the appliance.
► To sharpen knives with ceramic blades, use only sharpening base 2 .
For this purpose, follow the instructions starting from step 3).
► Use the two slits of sharpening base 1 only for very dull knives. For this
purpose, follow the instructions starting from step 1).
1) Always hold the appliance with your left hand.
2) Hold the knife at the handle and pull the blade in a steady movement once
through the left and once through the right slit of sharpening base 1 .
Exert slight pressure when sharpening in the direction of the sharpening
stone to ensure even contact with the knife.
NOTE
► Very dull knives might have to be pulled through more than once.

NOTE
► Use both slits of sharpening bases / equally frequently to achieve
even sharpening.
3) Hold the knife at the handle and now pull the blade in a steady movement
through the left and through the right slit of sharpening base 2 in alternation.
If necessary, pull the blade multiple times through both slits of sharpening
base 2 .
Normally, it is sufficient to pull the blade 2 times slowly (approx. 4 - 6 seconds)
and 2 times quickly (approx. 1 - 2 seconds) through both slits of sharpening
base 2 :

► Very dull knives might have to be pulled through more than once.
4) If you believe that the blade has reached the desired sharpness, test it on
a piece of cutting matter.
Be sure to clean the blade again before you might possibly re-sharpen it.
5) To re-sharpen the blade, pull it once more through the slits of sharpening
base 2 in alternation, until the desired sharpness is reached.
6) If you are satisfied with the result, turn the appliance off on the On/Off
switch .
7) Clean the blade thoroughly before you use the knife again, in order to
remove potential grinding residues such as metal dust or chips.

Single-sided smooth grind
For a single-sided grind, one side of the blade runs perfectly straight toward the
cutting edge and the other side is angled up to the cutting edge of the knife. The
angled side is the sharpened side. The single-sided grind can either be smooth
or have small teeth as found on table knives. However, you should only sharpen
blades using a smooth grind with this appliance.
NOTICES ON HANDLING THE APPLIANCE
► Prevent the blade from cutting into the plastic housing of the appliance
when it is pulled through.
Accidental cuts into the housing do not compromise the function of the
appliance.
► Use the sharpening base 1 only for very dull knives. For this purpose,
follow the instructions starting from step 1).
► If knives have a one-sided grind, sharpen only the side of the blade with

1) Entnehmen Sie alle Teile des Gerätes und die Bedienungsanleitung aus dem
Karton.
2) Entfernen Sie sämtliches Verpackungsmaterial vom Gerät.

► Prüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit und auf sichtbare Schäden.
► Bei einer unvollständigen Lieferung oder Schäden infolge mangelhafter
Verpackung oder durch Transport wenden Sie sich an die Service-Hotline

Entsorgung der Verpackung
Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.
Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoffe und
verringert das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungsmaterialien gemäß den örtlich geltenden Vorschriften.

STROMSCHLAGGEFAHR
► Schützen Sie das Produkt vor Feuchtigkeit. Verwenden Sie

Vorbereitungen
1) Verbinden Sie den Stecker des Netzadapters mit der Buchse am
Gerät.
2) Stellen Sie das Gerät auf einen ebenen Untergrund.
3) Stecken Sie den Netzadapter in eine Netzsteckdose.
4) Schalten Sie das Gerät am Ein-/Aus-Schalter ein.
HINWEIS
► Die Messer, die Sie schleifen wollen, müssen frei von Verschmutzungen und
Lebensmittelresten sein!
Messer schärfen
ACHTUNG - SACHSCHADEN!
► Überschreiten Sie niemals die maximale Betriebszeit von 2 Minuten. Lassen
Sie das Gerät nach 2 Minuten Betrieb ca. 20 Minuten abkühlen, bevor Sie
es erneut verwenden.
► Üben Sie keinen festen Druck mit der Klinge auf den Schleifstein aus - dies
beschädigt die Klinge und beschleunigt nicht den Schleifvorgang.
► Zum Schleifen von Messern mit Klingen aus Keramik benutzen Sie aus-
schließlich den Schleifsockel 2 .

Beidseitig glatter Schliff
Bei dem beidseitigen Schliff ist die Klinge des Messers von beiden Seiten zur
Schneide hin geschliffen. Der glatte Schliff zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die
Klinge des Messers glatt ist, also keine Wellen oder Zähne eingeschliffen sind.
HINWEISE ZUM UMGANG MIT DEM GERÄT
► Verhindern Sie es, mit der Klinge beim Durchziehen in das Kunststoffgehäu-
se des Gerätes zu schneiden.
Versehentliche Schnitte in das Gehäuse beeinträchtigen jedoch nicht die
Funktion des Gerätes.
► Zum Schleifen von Messern mit Klingen aus Keramik benutzen Sie aus-
schließlich den Schleifsockel 2 . Befolgen Sie hierfür die Anweisungen
ab Handlungsschritt 3).
► Benutzen Sie die beiden Schlitze des Schleifsockels 1 ausschließlich für
sehr stumpfe Messer. Befolgen Sie hierfür die Anweisungen ab Handlungsschritt 1).
1) Halten Sie das Gerät mit der linken Hand fest.
2) Halten Sie das Messer am Griff und ziehen Sie die Klinge mit einer gleichmäßigen Bewegung einmal durch den linken und einmal durch den rechten
Schlitz des Schleifsockels 1 .
Üben Sie beim Schärfen einen leichten Druck in Richtung Schleifstein aus, um
einen gleichmäßigen Kontakt mit dem Messer zu gewährleisten.

► Verwenden Sie beide Schlitze der Schleifsockel / mit gleicher Häufig-
keit, damit Sie eine gleichmäßige Schärfung erreichen.
3) Halten Sie das Messer am Griff und ziehen Sie die Klinge nun abwechselnd
mit einer gleichmäßigen Bewegung durch den linken und rechten Schlitz des
Schleifsockels 2 .
Ziehen Sie die Klinge, falls nötig, mehrmals durch beide Schlitze des
Schleifsockels 2 .
Im Normalfall reicht es aus, die Klinge 2 mal langsam (ca. 4 - 6 Sekunden)
und 2 mal schnell (ca. 1 - 2 Sekunden) durch beide Schlitze des Schleifsockels 2 zu ziehen:

4) Wenn Sie denken, dass die Klinge die gewünschte Schärfe erreicht hat,
testen Sie dieses an einem Stück Schnittgut.
Reinigen Sie die Klinge auf jeden Fall wieder, bevor Sie diese eventuell
nachschleifen.
5) Zum Nachschleifen ziehen Sie die Klinge nochmals abwechselnd durch die
Schlitze des Schleifsockels 2 , bis die gewünschte Schärfe erreicht ist.
6) Wenn Sie mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden sind, schalten Sie das Gerät am Ein-/
Aus-Schalter aus.
7) Reinigen Sie die Klinge gründlich, bevor Sie das Messer wieder verwenden,
um eventuelle Schleifrückstände wie Metallstaub oder -späne zu beseitigen.

Einseitig glatter Schliff
Beim einseitigen Schliff verläuft eine Seite der Klinge absolut gerade zur Schneide hin, die andere Seite schräg bis zur Schneide des Messers. Die schräge Seite
ist die geschliffene Seite. Der einseitige Schliff kann entweder glatt sein oder
kleine Zähne haben, wie zum Beispiel bei Tafelmessern. Schleifen Sie mit diesem
Gerät jedoch nur Klingen mit glattem Schliff.
HINWEISE ZUM UMGANG MIT DEM GERÄT
► Verhindern Sie es, mit der Klinge beim Durchziehen in das Kunststoffgehäu-
se des Gerätes zu schneiden.
Versehentliche Schnitte in das Gehäuse beeinträchtigen jedoch nicht die
Funktion des Gerätes.
► Benutzen Sie den Schleifsockel 1 ausschließlich für sehr stumpfe Messer.

► Zum Schleifen von Messern mit Klingen aus Keramik benutzen Sie aus-
schließlich den Schleifsockel 2 .

■ Bei häufigem Gebrauch können sich Schleifstaub und Metallreste an den
innenliegenden Schleifsteinen absetzen.
Reinigen Sie die Schleifsteine folgendermaßen:
– Halten Sie mit einem Finger gegen das breite Ende der schwarzen
Schutzkappen der Schleifsockel / und drücken Sie gleichzeitig gegen das kurze Ende. Heben Sie Schutzkappen der Schleifsockel /
gleichzeitig nach oben ab.
– Reinigen Sie die nun sichtbaren Schleifsteine mit einem Pinsel o.ä. .
– Setzen Sie die beiden schwarzen Schutzkappen / wieder auf.
Achten Sie darauf, die Schutzkappen nicht zu vertauschen.
Aufbewahren
■ Reinigen Sie das Gerät wie im Kapitel „Reinigen“ beschrieben.
■ Entfernen Sie den Netzadapter vom Gerät.
■ Bewahren Sie das Gerät und den Netzadapter an einem sauberen und
trockenen Ort auf.
Entsorgung
Werfen Sie das Gerät keinesfalls in den normalen Hausmüll.

Sie sich im Garantiefall mit Ihrer Servicestelle telefonisch in Verbindung. Nur so
kann eine kostenlose Einsendung Ihrer Ware gewährleistet werden.
HINWEIS
► Die Garantieleistung gilt nur für Material- oder Fabrikationsfehler, nicht
aber für Transportschäden, Verschleißteile oder für Beschädigungen an
zerbrechlichen Teilen, z. B. Schalter oder Akkus.
