Congratulations on your purchase. You have selected a high quality product. The instructions for use
are a part of this product. They contain important
information about safety, use and disposal. Before
using the product, please familiarise yourself with all
the operating and safety instructions. Use the product
only as described and for the specified applications.
When passing this product on to others please be
sure to also include all of its documentation.
Intended use
This power tool is intended for dry grinding and
brushing wood, plastic, spackle (e.g. plaster), as
well as painted surfaces. It is particularly suitable
for sanding uneven surfaces. The device is not intended for commercial use. Any other uses, and /
or modifications to the tool are considered improper
use and may result in serious hazards. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use

grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or
wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk
of electric shock.

3. Personal safety

Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and / or
battery pack, picking up or carrying
the tool. Carrying power tools with your fing

before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part
of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper foot-
ing and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connec-
tion of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected
and properly used. Use of dust collection
can reduce dust-related hazards.

4. Power tool use and care
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for mis-
alignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other con-

dition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power
tool repaired before use. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5. Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a
qualified repair person using only

all applications
Common safety instructions for grinding,
sanding:
a) This power tool is to be used as a
grinder, sander. Please observe all
safety instructions, instructions, illustrations and data included with the
device. Failure to observe the following instruc-
tions may result in electric shock, fire and / or
serious injuries.
b) Do not use accessories not specifically
specified or recommended by the
manufacturer for use with this power
tool. Simply because accessories can be at-
tached to your power tool does not guarantee
safe use.
c) The rated speed of the attachment must
be at least the maximum speed specified on the power tool. Accessories turning
faster than the rating can break and fly about.
d) The outside diameter and thickness of
the attachment must correspond with
the specifications of the power tool. In-
correctly sized attachments cannot be properly
shielded or controlled.
e) Grinding discs, flanges, disc wheels or
other accessories must accurately fit
the grinding spindle on your power
tool. Attachments which do not accurately fit
the grinding spindle will rotate unevenly, vibrate
severely and can result in losing control.
f) Do not use damaged attachments. Be-
fore each use, check attachments such
as grinding discs for chips and tears,
disc wheels for tears, wear or severe
abrasion. If the power tool or the attachment is dropped, check it for damage or use an undamaged attachment.
After checking and installing the attachment, you and persons nearby
should stay from the level of the rotating attachment, and allow the device
to run at maximum speed for a minute.
Damaged attachments typically break during
this test time.
g) Wear personal protective equipment.
Depending on the application, wear
full face protection, eye protection or
safety goggles. Where appropriate,
wear a dust mask, ear protection, protective gloves or a special apron to
deflect small grinding- and material
particles. Protect the eyes from foreign
objects flying about during various
applications. Dust- or respirator masks
must filter out the dust which arises
during use. Exposure to loud noise for extend-
ed periods can result in hearing loss.
h) Be sure other persons keep a safe dis-
tance to your work area. Anybody
entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment. Fragments
from the work piece or broken attachments can
fly about and cause injuries, including outside
the immediate work area.
i) Always hold the power tool by the in-
sulated handle surfaces when performing work where the attachment may
strikes hidden electric cables or the
power cored. Contact with a live wire may
also charge metal parts of the device and result in electric shock.
j) Keep the mains cable away from ro-
tating attachments. Losing control of the
device may result in the mains cable being cut or
caught, pulling your hand or arm into the rotating attachment.
k) Never put down the power tool until
the attachment has come to a complete
stop. The rotating attachment can come into
contact with the surface, resulting in a loss of
control over the power tool.
l) Do not run the power tool whilst car-
rying it. Clothing may get caught in the rotating tool due to accidental contact and the tool
pierce your body.
m) Regularly clean the ventilation slots
on the power tool. The motor fan will suck
dust into the housing, and a high accumulation
of metal dust can result in electrical hazards.
n) Do not use the power tool near flam-
mable materials. Sparks could ignite these
materials.
o) Do not use attachments requiring liquid
coolant. Using water or other liquid coolants
can result in electric shock.
Safety instructions for
grinding rollers
Hold the device by the insulated handle
surfaces, as the sanding sleeve may
strike the tool‘s mains cable. Damaging
a live wire may charge metal parts of the device and result in electric shock.
RISK OF FIRE DUE TO SPARKS! Grinding
metals produces sparking. Thus be very careful
not to endanger persons, and that no flammables are near the work area.

When working on wood, and especially when
working on materials which could produce
harmful dust, connect the device to a suitable
external dust extraction.
Ensure adequate ventilation when working on
plastics, paint, lacquer, etc.
The sanding brush is designed for dry grinding
areas on wood, plastic, metal and spackle, as
well as painted surfaces. Only use the device
for dry grinding.
Do not work on materials containing asbestos.
Asbestos is considered carcinogenic.
TOXIC DUST! Dust from
materials such as lead paint, some types of
wood, minerals and metal, can be noxious.
Touching or inhaling this type of dust can pre-
sent a danger to the user or persons nearby.
Wear safety glasses and
a dust mask!
Secure the work piece. Use clamps or a vice to
secure the work piece. This is much safer than
holding it in your hand.
Never place your hands next to or in front of
the device and the surface you are working on,
as slipping poses a risk of injury.
In the event of danger, immediately pull the mains
plug out of the socket.
Always run the mains cable away from the
appliance and toward the rear.
Avoid contact with the sanding sleeve in motion.
Do not work on moistened materials or damp
surfaces.
Always apply the device to the working surface
when switched on. When the task is complete,
lift the appliance off the work piece before
switching it off.
Always firmly hold the device with both hands
whilst working. Ensure you have a solid stance.
Allow the device to come to a complete stop
and switch off before putting it down.
Always unplug from the mains socket before
taking breaks, especially working on the device (e.g. replacing sandpaper) and during
non-use.

A special dust extractor must be used for explosive
dust / air mixtures.
FIRE HAZARD DUE TO SPARKING! Do not
use dust extraction when working on metal.
FIRE HAZARD! Using power
tools which can be connected to a vacuum using a
dust extraction poses a fire hazard! Unfavourable
conditions, e.g. sparking - when grinding metal or
metal pieces in wood - can ignite wood dust inside
the vacuum bag. This can particularly occur if the
wood dust is mixed with paint particles or other
chemicals and the ground product is hot after long
work periods. Therefore be sure to avoid the ground
materials and the device from overheating and always empty the vacuum bag before taking breaks.

Select the grinding tool according to the shape of
surface to be worked on and the material to be sanded. Match the grit with the desired material removal.

Working instructions
The removal and the surface quality are essen-
tially determined by the choice of grinding tool,
the speed setting and the pressure applied.
Only grinding tools in good working order will
yield good grinding performance and be easy
on the power tool.
Only use original grinding accessories.
The specifications in the following table are recommended values:

Presetting the speed
Use the speed wheel 8 to also preselect the required speed during operation.
The ideal belt speed varies by work piece or material being worked. Always determine the respective
best speed yourself on a test piece. The following
table contains non-binding values to aid you with
selection.

After working at slow speeds for extended pe-
riods you should allow the power tool to run at

maximum speed in idle for approx. 3 minutes
to cool down.
Grinding
Switch on the power tool, apply the entire sand-
ing surface to the surface to be worked, and
move it across the work piece using moderate
pressure.
Be sure to apply pressure evenly to extend the
life of the grinding tools.
Increasing the application pressure excessively
will not yield high sanding performance but higher wear of the power tool and the grinding tools.
Do not use a grinding tool which has been used
for metal for other materials.
Maintenance and Cleaning
RISK OF INJURY!
Switch the device off and pull the plug out of the
mains socket before carrying out any work on the
device.
Do not use sharp objects to clean the device. Do
not allow any liquids to enter the device. Ignoring this advice may damage the device.
Always have carbon brushes replaced by ser-
vice or an authorised specialist workshop. The
device is maintenance free other than this.
Clean the device regularly, preferably always
immediately after finishing work.
Use a dry cloth to clean the housing. Under no
circumstances should you use petrol, solvent or
cleaners which attack plastic.

The warranty for this appliance is for 3
years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manufactured with care
and meticulously examined before delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof
of purchase. In the event of a warranty
claim, please make contact by telephone
with our Service Department. Only in this
way can a post-free despatch for your
goods be assured.
The warranty covers only claims for material and
maufacturing defects, but not for transport damage,
for wearing parts or for damage to fragile components, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial use.
The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering
not carried out by our authorized service branch. Your
statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this
warranty.
