Thanks to its compact, lightweight design, this iron is ideal for quick ironing jobs.You can take it along in its handy pouch when you are travelling.
The iron can safely be used at all mains voltages
(110-120V/220-240V), as it is equipped with a voltage selector. If needed, suitable adapter plugs are available from Philips dealers, service centres, hotel receptions or hardware shops.

Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.
Danger
-- Never immerse the iron in water.
Warning
-- Check if the dual voltage selector has been set to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.You can adjust the position of the dual voltage selector with a coin. Always reset the selector to position 220/240V after use.This prevents damage if you inadvertently connect the iron to the wrong voltage.
-- Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord or the appliance itself shows visible damage, or if the appliance has been dropped or leaks.
-- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
-- Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the mains.
-- This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

-- Do not let the mains cord come into contact with the hot soleplate of the iron.
Caution
-- Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
-- Use an earthed adapter plug if the mains plug does not match the local wall socket.
-- Do not connect the appliance to a wall socket intended for shavers.
-- Do not use the iron in your hotel room simultaneously with another high-wattage appliance (e.g. a hairdryer) to avoid blowing the fuse.
-- Check the mains cord regularly for possible damage. -- Always place and use the iron on a stable, level and
horizontal surface.
-- The soleplate of the iron can become extremely hot and may cause burns if touched.
-- When you have finished ironing, when you clean the appliance, when you fill or empty the water tank and also when you leave the iron even for a short while: set the steam control to position O, put the iron on its heel and remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
-- The appliance is not intended for regular use.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today.
Before first use
1Remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate.
2Let the iron heat up to maximum temperature and pass the iron over a piece of damp cloth for several minutes to remove any residues from the soleplate.
Preparing for use Filling the water tank
1Make sure the appliance is unplugged and the steam control is set to position O (no steam).
2Open the cap of the filling opening (Fig. 2).
3Fill the water tank with tap water up to the maximum level. (Fig. 3)
If the tap water is very hard, we advise you to use distilled water.
Do not fill the water tank beyond the MAX indication.
Do not put perfume, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids or other chemicals in the water tank.
4Close the cap of the filling opening (‘click’) (Fig. 4).
Setting the temperature
1Check the laundry care label for the required ironing temperature.

2Set the temperature control to the required ironing temperature (Fig. 5).
3Place the iron on its heel (Fig. 6).
4Put the mains plug in an earthed wall socket.
,, The temperature-ready light goes on to indicate that the iron is heating up (Fig. 7).
5When the temperature-ready light has gone out, wait a while before you start ironing.
Tips
-- If the article consists of various kinds of fibres, always select the temperature required by the most delicate fibre, i.e. the lowest temperature. If, for example, the fabric consists of 60% polyester and 40% cotton, it has to be ironed at the temperature indicated for polyester ( 1).
-- If you do not know what kind or kinds of fabric an article is made of, determine the right ironing
temperature by ironing a part that is not visible when you wear or use the article.
-- Silk, woollen and synthetic materials: iron the reverse side of the fabric to prevent shiny patches.
-- Fabrics that tend to acquire shiny patches should be ironed in one direction only (along with the nap) while applying very little pressure.
-- Start ironing the articles that require the lowest ironing temperature, i.e. those made of synthetic materials.
Using the appliance
Note:The iron may give off some smoke when you use it for the first time.This stops after a short while.
Steam ironing
1Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank (see chapter‘Preparing for use’,section‘Filling the water tank’).
2Set the required ironing temperature (see chapter‘Preparing for use’,section‘Setting the temperature’) (Fig. 5).

it reaches the set temperature.
Ironing without steam
1Set the required ironing temperature (see chapter‘Preparing for use’,section‘Setting the temperature’) (Fig. 5).
2Set the steam control to position O (no steam) (Fig. 9).
Steam boost
The steam boost provides extra steam to remove very stubborn creases.
1Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank.
2Set the required ironing temperature (see chapter‘Preparing for use’,section‘Setting the temperature’) (Fig. 5).
The steam boost function can only be used at temperature setting 3.
3Press and release the steam boost button (Fig. 10).
Ironing without ironing board
-- When you are travelling, an ironing board is often not at hand. In this case, use a cotton towel on a firm flat surface. (Fig. 11)
Make sure that the surface is heat-resistant and moistureresistant. Do not use a glass or plastic surface.
Cleaning
1Place the iron on its heel.
2Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and let the iron cool down for at least 30 minutes.
3Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.
To keep the soleplate smooth,avoid hard contact with metal objects.Never use a scouring pad,vinegar or other chemicals to clean the soleplate.
Storage
1Set the steam control to position O (no steam).
2Place the iron on its heel.
3Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and let the iron cool down for at least 30 minutes.
4Empty the water tank (Fig. 12).
Note:The water may be hot.
5Wind the mains cord round the appliance (Fig. 13).
6Store the appliance in the pouch (specific types only).
Environment
-- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 14).

Peringatan

Medan elektromagnet (EMF)

Sebelum menggunakan alat pertama kali.
1Lepaskan stiker atau foil pelindung dari pelat tapak setrika.
2Panaskan setrika sampai suhu maksimum dan setrikakan pada sehelai kain lembab selama beberapa menit untuk menghilangkan sisa-sisa kotoran dari tapak setrikanya.
Persiapan penggunaan
Mengisi tangki air.
1Pastikan alat sudah dicabut dari aliran listrik dan kontrol uap disetel ke posisi O (tanpa uap).
2Buka tutup lubang pengisian (Gbr. 2).
3Isi tangki air dengan air keran yang dingin sampai level maksimal. (Gbr. 3)
Jika air keran di tempat Anda sangat sadah, kami sarankan agar Anda menggunakan air yang disuling.
Jangan mengisi tangki air melewati tanda batas MAKS.
Jangan memasukkan parfum,cuka,kanji,zat pembersih kerak,bahan pelembut penyetrikaan atau bahan kimia lainnya ke dalam tangki air.
4Pasang tutup lubang pengisian (hingga berbunyi ‘klik’) (Gbr. 4).
Menyetel suhu
1Periksa label perawatan pakaian untuk mengetahui suhu setrika yang diperlukan.

4Masukkan steker pada stopkontak. Jika steker alat dilengkapi arde, masukkan steker listrik pada stopkontak dinding yang dilengkapi arde.

Tip
-- Jika pakaian terbuat dari beragam jenis kain, pilihlah selalu suhu yang diperlukan untuk serat kain yang paling halus, yakni suhu terendah. Jika misalnya, kain terdiri atas 60% poliester dan 40% katun, kain harus disetrika pada suhu yang ditunjukkan untuk poliester (1).
-- Jika Anda tidak tahu jenis kain atau bahannya terbuat dari apa, tentukan suhu penyetrikaan yang benar dengan cara menyetrika pada bagian yang tak terlihat apabila Anda mengenakannya.
-- Bahan sutera, wol dan sintetis: setrika di bagian belakang kain agar tidak menimbulkan bercak mengkilap.
-- Kain yang cenderung menimbulkan bercak mengkilap, harus disetrika pada satu arah saja (searah serat) seraya agak menekan setrika pada kain.
-- Mulai menyetrika bahan yang memerlukan suhu setrika paling rendah, seperti bahan kain serat sintetis.
Menggunakan alat
Catatan:Setrika ini mungkin akan mengeluarkan asap ketika pertama kali digunakan.Ini akan berhenti setelah beberapa saat.
Menyetrika dengan uap
1Pastikan bahwa airnya cukup dalam tangki air (lihat bab‘Persiapan penggunaan’,bagian‘Mengisi tangki air’).

Semburan uap

Menyetrika tanpa papan setrika

Pastikan bahwa permukaannya tahan panas dan tahan cairan. Jangan gunakan permukaan dari kaca atau plastik
Membersihkan
1Letakkan setrika pada tumitnya.
2Lepaskan steker listrik dari stopkontak di dinding dan biarkan setrika menjadi dingin sekurangnya selama 30 menit.
3Bersihkan alat dengan kain lembab.
Agar pelat tapak setrika licin,jangan sampai tapaknya mengenai benda logam.Jangan sekali-kali menggunakan sabut gosok,cuka atau bahan kimia lainnya untuk membersihkan pelat tapak setrika.
Penyimpanan
1Setel kontrol uap ke posisi O (tanpa uap).
2Letakkan setrika pada tumitnya.
3Lepaskan steker listrik dari stopkontak di dinding dan biarkan setrika menjadi dingin sekurangnya selama 30 menit.
4Kosongkan tangki air (Gbr. 12).
Catatan:Air dapat menjadi panas.
5Gulung kabel mengelilingi alat (Gbr. 13).
6Simpan alat dalam kantungnya (hanya tipe tertentu).
Lingkungan
-- Jangan membuang alat bersama limbah rumah tangga biasa jika alat sudah tidak bisa dipakai lagi, tetapi serahkan ke tempat pengumpulan barang bekas yang resmi untuk didaur ulang. Dengan melakukan hal ini,Anda ikut membantu melestarikan lingkungan (Gbr. 14).
