Safety regulations

The design of this machine incorporates a number of built-in safety devices. To avoid personal injury, it is very important not to render these safety devices ineffective by by-passing them.

General safety rules

• The machine shall be connected in accordance with the installation instructions.
• The machine shall not be operated by minors.
• Installation and service operations shall be performed by personnel with the appropriate training for this machine.
• The machine's lid lock shall not be by-passed under any circumstances.
• Leakage in the system, e.g. a worn lid seal, shall be repaired immediately.
• Before performing any repair or service operations, the personnel concerned shall study the relevant handbooks and service manuals.
• The machine must not be washed down with water.
• Care shall be taken when using corrosive detergents.
• Safety precautions in the presence of hot water and steam.

Isolating device

The machine shall always be provided with a separate isolating device in the mains power supply mounted in a readily accessible position on a wall.

Description

The wash disinfector is intended for the cleaning and disinfection of re-usable items such as basins, hand bowls and urinals. Disinfection in this context means the destruction of all vegetative bacteria, fungal spores and viruses, but not bacterial spores.

Warning symbols

This handbook contains various warnings, directions and advice of such importance that we have decided to mark them specially. The following layout and symbols are used:

general re-usable items, e.g. hand bowls.
s+r Button combination to start the programme with cleaning agent for
heavily soiled items, e.g. dressing instruments.

Using the normal programme

1. Place items to be cleaned in the holder. For details of how to position items, see the separate instructions.
2. Press the u button for the normal programme. If the normal programme is set on the foot pedal, depress the foot pedal instead (the most frequently used programme is allocated to the foot pedal).
Cleaning agent can be added if the item is heavily soiled (certain machines only). Before starting the

program,s must be depressed in order for cleaning agent to be added during the programme. By using a pre-set, cleaning agent can be added
automatically during any programme. If metering of the cleaning agent is automatic, the cleaning agent can be de-selected instead by a single depression
ofs.

3. Once the process is complete, the lid can be opened slightly . Press the foot pedal to open the lid fully.

Using the economy programme

1. Place items to be cleaned in the holder. For details of how to position items, see the separate instructions.
2. Press the t button for the economy programme. If the economy programme is set on the foot pedal, depress the foot pedal instead (the most frequently used programme is allocated to the foot pedal).
3. Once the process is complete, the lid can be opened slightly . Press the foot pedal to open the lid fully .

Using the intensive programme

Maintenance

As required

Washing chamber

The washing chamber shall be kept free from lime scale deposits. Remove any remaining deposits by spraying on an ordinary , acid-based cleaning agent. There is no need to rinse this off - rinsing will take place automatically the next time the cleaning programmes are run.

Outside

The front and side walls can be cleaned and disinfected with an alcohol-based cleaning agent, surgical spirit or an ordinary cleaning agent. The control panel is cleaned in the same way .
Operating instructions
Any staining can be removed with an ordinary cleaner for stainless steel.
If the wash disinfector is used without automatic de­scaling, the steam generator must be checked at regular intervals for the presence of lime scale deposits.

Fault message requiring attendance by a service technician

For certain process faults, information about the cause of the fault appears in the display window on the front panel. Certain fault messages must be acknowledged once the fault has been remedied (no acknowledgement is required for a message indicating the need to fill with an agent); see also under the heading, "Acknowledging a fault message".

Red lamp lights

If the red lamp for K lights, disinfection has been interrupted due to an excessively low temperature or some other fault. A fault message describing the cause of the fault in clear text appears in the display window .

Acknowledging a fault message

Certain fault messages must be acknowledged before the machine can revert to operating mode. Once the cause of the fault has been established and the fault has been remedied, the fault message can be acknowledged as follows:
First press the s button, followed by the t . button. Keep both buttons depressed at the same time for 10 seconds.
After a fault code has been acknowledged, the lid will remain in the closed position and can only be opened by a double actuation of the foot pedal.
The machine is now ready for use. Repeat the programme that was interrupted if the items are still in the machine. If the fault persists, call in the service personnel.

Wash disinfector function

Normal programme

The normal programme is used for cleaning items containing rubbish and paper . Press the u button for basins. The cleaning programme now starts. The following cycles are performed:
01. Flushing During flushing, the item is rinsed with a high-
pressure jet of clean water .
02. Main cleaning The item is cleaned effectively during this cycle. If cleaning agent s is selected, an additional
cleaning phase takes place.
03. Disinfecting The washing chamber is heated with steam until the
right disinfection temperature and the right time are achieved.

04. Cooling The vessels are cooled with water (it is possible to
delete the cooling phase if the machine is pre­programmed).
When the machine is run without cooling, the machine will give a HOT ITEMS warning after the process is complete.
End of programme The green indicator lamp for M lights when the
programme has finished. The door is unlocked automatically . Open the door and remove the clean, disinfected items from the machine. The maximum disinfection temperature appears in the display . The green lamp goes out when the door is opened.

Economy programme

If the items to be cleaned only contain liquids, or if they are only lightly soiled, the economy programme can be used. The water consumption is a good deal less in this programme, but disinfection is the same as for the normal programme.
