Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the DCS-2330L Outdoor HD Wireless Network Camera. The DCS-2330L is a versatile and
unique solution for your small oce or home. Unlike a standard webcam, the DCS-2330L is a complete system with a built-in
CPU and web server that transmits high quality video images for security and outdoor surveillance. The DCS-2330L can be
accessed remotely, and controlled from any computer or mobile device over your local network or through the Internet via a
web browser or apps. The simple installation and intuitive web-based interface oer easy integration with your Ethernet/Fast
Ethernet or 802.11n/g wireless network. The DCS-2330L also comes with remote monitoring and motion and sound detection
features for a complete and cost-eective home security solution.

Features
Simple to Use
The DCS-2330L is a stand-alone system with a built-in CPU, requiring no special hardware or software. The DCS-2330L supports both ActiveX mode
for Internet Explorer and Java mode for other browsers such as Firefox® and Safari®.
Supports a Variety of Platforms
Supporting TCP/IP networking, HTTP, and other Internet related protocols. The DCS-2330L can also be integrated easily into other Internet/Intranet
applications because of its standards-based features.
Web Conguration
Using a standard Web browser, administrators can congure and manage the Network Camera directly from its own Web page via Intranet or
Internet. This means you can access your DCS-2330L anytime, anywhere in the world.
Broad Range of Applications
With today’s high-speed Internet services, the Network Camera can provide the ideal solution for delivering live video images over the Intranet and
Internet for remote monitoring. The Network Camera allows remote access using a Web browser for live image viewing, and allows the administrator
to manage and control the Network Camera anytime, anywhere in the world. Many applications exist, including industrial and public monitoring
of homes, oces, banks, hospitals, child-care centers, and amusement parks.
Remote Monitoring Utility
The D-ViewCam application adds enhanced features and functionality for the Network Camera and allows administrators to congure and access
the Network Camera from a remote site via Intranet or Internet. Other features include image monitoring, recording images to a hard drive, viewing
up to 32 cameras on one screen, and taking snapshots.
IR LED for Day and Night Functionality
The built-in infrared LEDs enables night time viewing of up to 16 feet (5 meters).
IP65 Weatherproof Housing
The DCS-2330L uses an IP65 weatherproof housing, allowing you to rest assured that in the toughest of conditions, it will continue to provide
round-the-clock surveillance.
802.11n Wireless or Ethernet/Fast Ethernet Support
The DCS-2330L oers wireless 802.11n and Ethernet/Fast Ethernet connectivity, making the DCS-2330L easy to integrate into your existing
network environment. The DCS-2330L works with a 10Mbps Ethernet based network or 100Mbps Fast Ethernet based network for traditional wired
environments, and works with 802.11n routers or access points for added exibility. The Site Survey feature also allows you to view and connect to
any available wireless networks.

Replacing the Ethernet Cable

Step 1:
Follow the steps outlined in "Removing the Top Panel" on page 10.
Step 2:
Unplug the Ethernet cable from the RJ-45 connector.
Step 3:
Carefully remove the weatherproof cable connection cover.
Step 4:
Attach the weatherproof cable connection cover to the new Ethernet cable.
Step 5:
Plug the new Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 connector.
Step 6:
Follow the steps outlined in "Reattaching the Top Panel" on page 12.
Note: To avoid damage to the weatherproof aspects of the camera, users are advised not to remove the rear cable connection covering. To use a longer
Ethernet cable install a coupling adaptor.

Installation
If you have a D-Link Cloud Router, skip to page 16 and follow the steps. You do not have to download and run the setup
wizard software.
If you do not have a cloud router, open a web browser and go to http://www.mydlink.com/download. Click your camera model
and then under Wizard, click the link of the version (Windows or Mac) you want to download. Depending on your web browser, you
may need to right-click the link and select Save link as. Once downloaded, launch the wizard and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If you experience issues registering this camera with your mydlink account, try performing a hard reset by using an unfolded paperclip
to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds while the camera is powered on. This may be necessary if you have purchased an open box
or resold unit.
Once the wizard is complete, log in to your mydlink account and skip to "mydlink" on page 20.

Zero Conguration Setup
If you have a mydlink-enabled Cloud Router, you can take advantage of Zero Conguration. Zero Conguration automatically
congures your camera's settings for you, and adds it to your mydlink account automatically. This type of setup allows you to
set up your camera by simply plugging it in and connecting it to your router. Your Cloud Router will automatically assign your
network settings (both wired and wireless) to your camera.
Note: The Zero Conguration Setup will only work with a registered D-Link Cloud Router and an active mydlink account.
Step 1:
Connect the power adapter to a wall outlet or power strip. Power is conrmed
when the Power LED is lit.
Step 2:
You can either connect an Ethernet cable from the camera to your router or use WPS.
If you want to use an Ethernet connection, Carefully remove the rubber seal on
the back of the camera and connect the included Ethernet cable to the Ethernet
port on the camera and connect it to your router.
If you want to use a wireless connection, press and hold the WPS button on the
camera for ve seconds. The WPS status LED will start to blink. Then, press the WPS
button on your Cloud Router within 2 minutes.

Step 3:
From any computer, open a web browser, go to http://www.mydlink.com and
log into your account. Once mydlink detects your camera, a New Device Found!
notice will appear in the bottom-right corner. Click the notication to continue.
Step 4:
A summary and conrmation notication will appear with the automatically
congured details. Enter a password for your camera (next to Device Password)
and click Yes to add the camera to your account.

Step 5:
Zero Conguration will navigate to the mydlink Live View tab for your camera
where you will see a screen similar to the following.
If you wish to connect your camera to your router wirelessly, you can simply
disconnect the Ethernet cable and move the camera to its intended location; your
router's wireless settings have been automatically transferred to the camera, and
no further conguration is required.
Your camera is now set up, and you can skip to "mydlink" on page 20 to learn
more about the mydlink features of this camera, or to "Conguration" on page
22 for advanced conguration of your camera.

Section 2: Installation
Mount the Camera
We suggest that you congure the camera before mounting.
1. Place the mounting base where you want to position the camera and use a pencil
to mark the holes.
2. Depending on the material of the wall or ceiling, use proper tools to drill two holes
or screws where you marked. If the wall is made out of concrete, drill the holes rst,
insert the plastic anchors and then the screws.
The space between the camera and the screwheads should be 3mm.
3. When you place the mounting plate over the holes that you drilled in the wall,
make sure you align the holes. Use the supplied screws to attach the mounting
base to the surface of the wall.
4. Place the mounting base cover on the mounting plate. Reattach the camera
mount onto the mounting base by holding the camera mount and twisting the
camera mount clockwise into the mounting base.
5. Adjust the direction of the camera as desired, then tighten the collar on the
cameara mount to lock it in place.

mydlink
After registering your DCS-2330L camera with a mydlink account in the Camera Installation Wizard, you will be able to remotely
access your camera from the www.mydlink.com website. After signing in to your mydlink account, you will see a screen similar
to the following:

Camera Status
Here, you can see the online status of each of your cameras. Your online status may be one of the following:
A green checkmark indicates that your camera is online and ready to use.
A yellow exclamation point indicates that your camera is online, but the camera password
has changed. You will need to enter your new camera password to access your camera
again.
A red X indicates that your camera is oine and currently cannot be accessed remotely.
If your camera is oine, try the following:
• Check to make sure that the Internet connection to your camera is working properly.
• Try restarting your Internet router.
• Check your camera’s cable connections and make sure they are secure.
• Check to make sure that the LED on your camera is lit solid green.
If you still cannot access your camera, reset your camera and run the Camera Installation Wizard again from http://www.
mydlink.com/support.

Conguration
Using the Conguration Interface
After completing the Camera Installation Wizard, you are ready to use your camera. The camera’s built-in Web conguration utility is designed to allow
you to easily access and congure your DCS-2330L. At the end of the wizard, enter the IP address of your camera into a web browser (Internet Explorer,
Firefox, Chrome, or Safari). To log in, use the User name admin and the password you created in the Installation Wizard. If you did not create a password,
the default password is blank. After entering your password, click OK.
