INFORMATION SHEET FOR BACK
PROTECTORS WHICH ARE USED WITH
MOTORBIKE, BICYCLE OR WINTER
SPORTS CLOTHING OR OTHER
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
This back protector was designed,
manufactured and tested according to
EUROPEAN STANDARD 1621-2:2014
LEVEL 1 for devices which protect against
mechanical impact.
CAUTION:
Provided that it is correctly used and worn,
this protector can minimise the consequences
associated with mechanical impact in the
areas protected by it.
However, it cannot guarantee
complete protection. Spinal injuries
or fractures cannot be prevented.
MEANING OF THE ‘CE’ MARK
The CE mark of conformity on the protective
device documents the conformity of the
product with the corresponding standard
and directive of the European Community
which demands the afxing of this mark
and certies that the protective device
has been subjected to an EC prototype
test. The conformity with the requirements
of the European Directive 89/686/EEC
for personal protective equipment (and
subsequent modications) as well as with the
those of the harmonising technical standard
1621-2:2014 was certied by the testing
institute TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH,
Tillystr. 2, D-90431 Nürnberg, Germany,
notied body 0197.

1. LEVEL OF PROTECTION

The degree of protection given is printed on
the webbing sewn in to the interior of the
protector (or simply on its exterior).
This protector complies with Class 1.
The protector offers limited protection (in so
far as it is correctly used and worn) against
the consequences of a strong mechanical
force, such as would occur with a fall or
an impact. also, in the case of a fall on a
motorbike or cycle, or during winter sports,
for example, it can lessen the severity of
cuts and bruises in the region protected
by the device. however, it does not
provide a guarantee that no physical
injury will be sustained! it is therefore
recommended that motorcycle riders, sports
cyclists and those practising winter sports
use the back protector. However, this should
not be interpreted as encouragement to be
careless or to drive recklessly while using
it. The degree of protection given by the
back protector remains undiminished only
as long as its original characteristics remain
unaltered. For this reason modications and/
or repairs must not be undertaken without
the approval of the manufacturer.
The cushioning in the neck and rump areas
do not comply with the 1621-2:2014 and
do not provide sufcient protection.
The manufacturers cannot accept
liability for any consequences
whatsoever which are attributable to
unauthorised alterations or repairs.
2. DESIGNATED USE
This back protector has been designed for
use by motorbike riders, sport cyclists and
those practising winter sports. It may be used
on its own, with other suitable protective
equipment or combined with clothing.
3. TIPS FOR USE
It is important to wear the back protector
along the spinal area of the back (with the
soft padding against your back) to ensure
that maximum effect is achieved. Make sure
that the writing is readable and not upside
down.
4. CORRECT SIZE
The back protector is available
in three sizes.Please use the
back protector according to the
body size and the hip - shoulder
distance of the wearer. No single
variable can be suitable for all
body dimensions.

FURTHER TIPS:
Once the protector is positioned as per
instructions, check its t by putting the
appropriate jacket on over it and carrying
out all the physical actions you will later
go through when performing the particular
activity for which its use is designed (i.e.
cycling, motorcycling, winter sports). Secure
the back protector using the waist strap
(which has hook-and-loop fastening).
CAUTION:
It is important to carry out a basic check on
the protector before use in case there is any
damage, such as fractures or tears. Even
only minor ones may impair its function.
In case of damage, or if the protector has
been subjected to a signicant impact, the
protector must be replaced.
The back protector will only full its
protective function if it is correctly
tted and secured and is in an
undamaged state. The manufacturers
cannot accept liability for any
damage and any consequences
whatsoever which may arise from
improper use, or from wearing
clothing that is partially or wholly
unsuitable for the back protector to
be positioned correctly.
5. LIMITATIONS OF USE
The tests to ascertain the back protector’s
impact absorption capacity were carried
out according to the regulations, at a
temperature of between 15 °C and 22 °C
and with a relative humidity of between 60%
and 70%. With values beyond these ranges
the impact absorption capacity of the back
protector may change.
It is absolutely necessary to wear
appropriate clothing over the back protector.
Under no circumstances must it be worn
outside (or without) clothing.
6. PROTECTION ZONE
The back protector
gives protection within
the protection zone, as
shown in the illustration

7. STORAGE, CARE, CLEANING
To keep the protector in good condition
we recommend that you store it in a dry,
well-ventilated environment, away from heat
sources, windows, doors or glass panels,
and that you avoid leaving it in direct
sunlight. The ambient temperature must
thereby never fall below 5 °c or above 70°C
(which temperature can be exceeded in the
car in summer weather, for example). avoid
both extreme cold and heat.
You should also make sure that the back
protector is stored with its inside uppermost
to ensure that no weight will come to rest on
it, as this can cause deformation or damage.
We strongly advise that you check the
fastener systems of the protector after each
use for possible breaches or other defects.

correspond with the manufacturer to arrange
a further assessment.

Should the damage be signicant, the
protective device must be replaced
immediately.
The manufacturers cannot accept

protector which have not been
carried out by the manufacturers
themselves.
CAUTION:
Contact with aggressive chemical
substances (acids, oils, solvents, etc.)
may compromise the integrity of the
back protector.
Cleaning: rst remove the back protector
from clothing, then simply wipe the outward
facing side with a dry cloth to remove dust
and small spots of dirt.

Conventional materials have been used in
manufacturing the back protector. These
materials are not known to be hazardous to
health.
8. SERVICE LIFE
Provided that the back protector is stored
with care as recommended above and has
not been exposed to any mechanical impact
it can retain its protective function for a long
period of time. The duration of its service
life depends in particular on how it is used/
worn, the resulting wear and tear of its
constituent materials and climatic conditions
and other environmental factors.
Subject to the stresses it is put under, it is
advisable to check its condition regularly
and, when necessary, to replace it.
The back protector should ultimately be
replaced after a period of 5 years.
9. ADVICE FOR DISPOSAL
Dispose of the back protector via an
authorised waste disposal company or your
local authority disposal facility. Be careful to
comply with all regulations which apply. In
case of doubt, enquire at your local disposal
facility about disposing of the item in an
environmentally friendly manner.

Deze rugprotector werd conform de
EUROPESCHE STANDAARD
1621-2-2014 LEVEL 1 voor
veiligheidsuitrustingen tegen mechanische
botsingen ontwikkeld, gefabriceerd en
getest.
BETEKENIS VAN HET “CE”-TEKEN
Het op het beschermingssysteem
aangebrachte „CE“-teken bewijst de
conformiteit van het product met de
desbetreffende norm en richtlijn van
de Europese Gemeenschap, die het
aanbrengen van deze markering
verlangt. En attesteert bovendien dat het
beschermingssysteem een EG-type-test heeft
doorlopen. De conformiteit met de eisen van
de Europese richtlijn 89/686/EWG voor
persoonlijke beschermingsvoorzieningen (en
latere aanpassingen) zowel met de eisen

1. BESCHERMINGSGRAAD
1621-2-2014 LEVEL 1
Beschermingsgraad “1”, “Kerbstonetest”:
Botsingsenergie 50 joule, de doorgegeven
restkracht is kleiner dan 18 kilonewton.
Beschermingsgraad “2”, “Kerbstonetest”:
Botsingsenergie 50 joule, de doorgegeven
restkracht is kleiner dan 9 kilonewton.
De beschermingsgraad is op het etiket,
dat in de protector vastgenaaid is, of
rechtstreeks op het bovenmateriaal gedrukt.
Deze protector is conform de klasse 1.
De protector biedt (mits correct gebruikt en
gedragen) beperkte bescherming tegen de
gevolgen van sterke mechanische krachten,
zoals deze bij een val of botsing optreden.
Zo kan hij bij een val met motor of met de
ets, of bij winterspor,t bv. de omvang van
schaafwonden en kneuswonden van het
beschermde lichaamsdeel verminderen;
hij levert echter geen garantie voor
complete lichamelijke ongedeerdheid! Voor
motorrijders, wielrijders en wintersporters
wordt daarom het gebruik van de
rugprotector aanbevolen, mits dit niet als
uitnodiging begrepen wordt, onvoorzichtig
te zijn en riskant te rijden.
De omvang van de bescherming, die
door de rugprotector geboden wordt,
blijft volledig bestaan, zolang als zijn
oorspronkelijke eigenschappen onveranderd
blijven. Om deze redenen mogen, zonder
toestemming van de fabrikant, noch
modicatie, noch reparaties uitgevoerd
worden. De comfortkussens in nek en
rondom de stuit zijn niet conform de
norm 1621-2-2014 LEVEL 1 en bieden
onvoldoende bescherming.
De fabrikant weigert elke
verantwoordelijkheid voor eventuele
gevolgen, die toe te schrijven
zijn aan niet goedgekeurde
veranderingen of reparaties.
2. DOELMATIG GEBRUIK
Deze rugprotector is ontwikkeld voor
gebruik door motorrijders, wielrijders
en wintersporters, en kan individueel of
samen met een andere hierbij passende
beschermingsuitrusting of in combinatie met
kleding gebruikt worden.
3. ADVIEZEN VOOR GEBRUIK
Om de correcte werking van de protector
te garanderen, is het belangrijk, deze
langs de wevelkolom te dragen, met de
comfortbekledingszijde op de rug. Zorg, dat
het schrift hierbij leesbaar blijft, en niet „op
zijn kop“ staat.
4. VERDERE ADVIEZEN VOOR DE
CORRECTE PASVORM
Deze beschermer is verkrijgbaar
in 3 maten. Gebruik de
rugbeschermer volgens de
lichaamslengte en de heup schouder afstand van de drager.
Geen enkele variabele kan zijn
geschikt voor alle lichaamsdelen
dimensies.

ADVIES:
Wanneer u de protector volgens de
instructies hebt aangebracht, controleer dan
of hij goed zit, door uw Jas erover aan te
trekken en alle bewegingen uit te voeren, die
u later op motor of ets of bij de wintersport
uitvoert. Maak de rugprotector vast met de
buikriem, die een klitsluiting heeft.
ATTENTIE:
Het is belangrijk, de protector vóór gebruik
steeds te controleren, omdat eventueel
voorhanden . beschadigingen, zoals
breukvlakken of scheuren (ook al zijn deze
slechts gering), afbreuk kunnen doen aan de
functie van de beschermingsuitrusting. Bei
beschadigingen, of wanneer de protector
was blootgesteld aan een grote mechanische
slagwerking, moet de protector vervangen
worden.
De rugprotector voldoet slechts
dan aan zijn beschermingsfunctie,
wanneer hij correct aangetrokken
en in onbeschadigde toestand
is. De fabrikant wijst elke
verantwoordelijkheid af voor
eventuele schades of gevolgen, die
te wijten zijn aan verkeerd gebruik
of aan het dragen van bekleding,
die slechts beperkt geschikt is voor
het correcte aantrekken van de
bescherming.
5. GRENZEN VAN DE AANWENDING
De tests, om het absorptievermogen bij
de botsing vast te stellen, werden naar
voorschrift tussen 15 °C en 22 °C en
bij een relatieve luchtvochtigheid tussen
60% en 70% doorgevoerd. Bij waardes
daarboven kan het absorptievermogen van
de rugprotector veranderen. Het is absoluut
noodzakelijk, over de rugprotector specieke
bekleding te dragen. Hij mag in geen geval
alleen of op de buitenkant van de kleding
gedragen worden.
6. BESCHERMINGSZONE
De rugprotector
beschermt de
beschermingszone
(1), zoals deze in de

afbeelding aangeduid
is. Wanneer de
rugprotector tegenover
de leveringstoestand
veranderd of een
beschadigde
rugprotector gebruikt
wordt is niet meer voldoende bescherming
gegarandeerd.
7. BEWARING, ONDERHOUD,
REINIGING
Om de protector in een goede toestand te
houden, wordt aanbevolen deze op een
droge en goed geventileerde plaats te
bewaren, uit de buurt van warmtebronnen,
vensters, deuren of ramen, en te
vermijden, hem bloot te stellen aan directe
zonnestraling. De omgevingstemperatuur
mag hierbij nooit beneden 5°C of boven
70°C (bv. ‘s zomers in de auto) liggen.
Vermijd zowel extreme koude als extreme
warmte. Zorg, dat de rugprotector met de
binnenkant naar boven bewaard wordt,
zonder dat enig gewicht er bovenop ligt,
dat vervormingen of beschadigingen
veroorzaken kan. Het is dringend
aanbevolen, de sluitingen van de protector
na elk gebruik te controleren op eventuele
breuk of op andere defecten. Indien
scheuren of beschadigingen van geringe
aard worden ontdekt, moet u a.u.b.de
fabrikant contacteren voor een expertise.
Indien de beschadigingen aanzienlijk zijn,

moet de beschermingsuitrusting onmiddellijk
vervangen worden.
De fabrikant wijst elke
verantwoordelijkheid af voor
de gevolgen van reparaties
of modicaties van de
beschermingsuitrustingen, indien
deze niet door de fabrikant zelf
werden uitgevoerd.
ATTENTIE:
CONTACT MET AGRESSIEVE
CHEMISCHE PRODUCTEN (ZUUR,
OLIES, OPLOSMIDDELEN, ENZ.)
KAN AFBREUK DOEN AAN DE
INTACTE TOESTAND VAN DE
BESCHERMINGSUITRUSTING.

de protector uitgetrokken worden) is
het voldoende, met een droge doek de
buitenkant af te vegen, om zo stof en kleine
vlekken te verwijderen.

Al naargelang de belasting is het daarom
raadzaam, de toestand van de protector
geregeld te controleren en deze zo nodig
te vervangen. Uiterlijk na 5 jaar moet de
rugprotector worden vervangen.
9. ADVIES VOOR DE
AFVALVERWIJDERING
Verwijder de rugprotector via een
geautoriseerd afvalverwijderingsbedrijf of
via de afvalverwijderingsinrichting van uw
gemeente. Respecteer de actueel geldende
voorschriften. Informeert u zich in geval van
twijfel bij uw afvalverwijderingsinrichting
over een milieugerechte verwijdering.
NOTES
Bij de fabricatie van de rugprotector werden
conventionele materialen gebruikt, waarvan
niet bekend is. dat ze schadelijk zijn voor de
gezondheid.
8. LEVENSDUUR VAN DE
RUGPROTECTOR
Indien de rugprotector zorgvuldig op de
hierboven beschreven wijze bewaard
wordt en hij niet was blootgesteld aan
een mechanische botsing, kan hij zijn
beschermingsfunctie voor lange tijd
bewaren. De levensduur van de protector
hangt vooral af van zijn effectief gebruik,
