Intended Use
The pirk deepsea fishing rod is intended for medium weight pirk fishing from a boat in the sea. It has a casting weight of 100-200 g and is particularly suitable for catching cod, pollack, whiting and other types of fish which live on or near the sea-bed.
The reel is fitted with a monofil fishing line with 0.40 m diameter and a maximum capacity of 11 kg. However, in practice considerably heavier fish have often been caught. The pirker (which is included in the fishing set) sinks to the sea-bed and is then moved by raising and lowering the fishing rod to emulate the quarry for preying fish. Always ensure that the lure stays in contact with the sea-bed, as most fish are to be found here when searching for food.
