and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
2.3 Other hazards
Aqueous solutions of citric acid are considered medium strength acids, react with bases and oxidant agents, and may
react with metals. Phosphoric acid polymerizes with violence under azo-compound and epoxides influence. Phosphoric
acid degrades and generates toxic gases if in contact with alcohols, aldehydes, cyanides, ketones, phenols, esters,
sulfides, and halogenated organic compounds. Phosphoric acid reacts with metals generating flammable
gases/explosives (hydrogen) and reacts with violence in contact with basis.

where:
H314: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage
H319: Causes serious eye irritation
SECTION 4. First aid measures
4.1. Description of first aid measures
GENERA INFO: Call doctor/physician and show this safety data sheet.
EYE CONTACT: Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Obtain medical attention if the problem persists.
SKIN CONTACT: Take off the contaminated clothing. Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation persists, get medical advice
and attention.
INHALATION: Move the person into fresh air. If breathing is difficult, try with CPR and call doctor/physician.
INGESTION: Call doctor/physician. Do not induce vomiting. Rinse the mouth with plenty of water. Never give anything
by mouth to an unconscious person and if not indicated by the doctor/physician
4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
SKIN CONTACT: redness, pain, burning sensation, skin blisters
EYE CONTACT: redness, pain, severe deep burns.
INGESTION: abdominal pain, burning sensation, shock or collapse
INHALATION: burning sensation, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat
GENERAL: call doctor/physician, especially in case of strong inhalation (however the product has a negligible
evaporation at 20 °C), eyes contact and ingestion.
SECTION 5. Firefighting measures
5.1. Extinguishing media
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Use common extinguishing media: carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam, dry powder and water spray.

5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
HAZARD ARISING FROM EXPOSITION IN CASE OF FIRE
Avoid breathing the combustion products. In case of combustion may be generate carbon monoxide. Citric acid
degrades around 175°C. Phosphoric acid degrades around 213°C, before to reach the boiling point, and produces toxic
gases (phosphorous oxides, phosphoric oxides and/or phosphine).
5.3. Advices for firefighters
GENERAL INFORMATION
Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment. Use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. Prevent run-off
from firefighting into storm drains, water bodies of other environmentally sensitive areas.
EQUIPMENT
Full firefighting protective equipment like Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (EN 137), flame-resistant clothing (EN
469). Refer to SECTIONS 7 and 8.
SECTION 6. Accidental release measures
6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures.
Use adequate personal protective equipment (PPE), including the personal protective equipment described in SECTION
8, to avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing contaminations. Use respiratory protection. Ventilate the area and
evacuate personnel to safe areas.
6.2. Environmental precautions
Keep stored and far from drains. Prevent entry into sewers and other waterways.
6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
For small surfaces, like working tables, use non-woven fabric towels.
For bigger surfaces or under machineries, use non-woven fabric rolls.
For limited quantities in easy-to-clean areas, use absorbent anti-acid powders.
Collect all the absorbed contaminated material and store in suitable close containers before the disposal.
6.4. Reference to other sections.
For any information regarding personal protection and the disposal, refer to SECTIONS 8 and 13
.
SECTION 7. Handling and storage
7.1. Precaution for safe handling
Handle after reading all the other sections of this safety data sheet. Handle using protective glasses and nitrile
protective gloves. Avoid releasing of the product in the environment and handle not close to drains. Do not eat, drink,
and smoke while handling. Wash hands after the use. Remove contaminated clothing and personal protection
equipment before eating.
7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store in the original container. Keep container tightly closed and store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
Keep/Store away from direct sunlight /UV and far from incompatible materials (see SECTION 10). Keep away from
strong oxidant agents, strong bases, metals and metallic nitrates. Keep/Store away from alcohols, aldehydes, cyanides,
ketones, phenols, esters, sulfides, halogenated organic compounds. Store away from food and feed storage and from
heat sources.
7.3 Specific final uses
