Vous vous êtes décidé pour un appareil de qualité. Le mode d'emploi fait partie
de l'appareil. Ce mode d'emploi donne des indications importantes sur l'utilisation de l'appareil, les consignes de sécurité. Prendre connaissance de toutes les
recommandations concernant l'utilisation de l'appareil avant de l'utiliser. Toujours
utiliser l'appareil en observant strictement les recommandations d'emploi et ce
pour l'usage prévu. Remettre également cette notice en cas de cession ou de
revente de l'appareil.

Consignes de sécurité
DANGER - RISQUE DE CHOC ÉLECTRIQUE !
► Assurez-vous que le socle comportant les raccordements élec-
triques n'entre jamais en contact avec de l'eau ! Laissez d'abord
sécher entièrement le socle, s'il a été accidentellement mouillé.
► Utilisez la bouilloire exclusivement avec le socle compris dans la
livraison.
► Prendre garde que le cordon d'alimentation ne soit jamais mouillé
ni humide pendant le fonctionnement. Disposer le cordon en
vérifi ant qu'il n'y a pas de risque de dommage.
► Faire remplacer immédiatement les connecteurs ou les cordons
d'alimentation endommagés par des spécialistes dûment autorisés ou par le service après-vente pour éviter tout risque.
► Retirez toujours le connecteur de la prise secteur. Il ne suffi t pas
de mettre à l'arrêt l'appareil, en eff et celui-ci est toujours sous tension s'il reste branché.
► Vérifi er l'absence de dommages visibles extérieurs avant l'usage
de l'appareil. Ne pas mettre en service un appareil endommagé ou
ayant subi une chute.
► Confi er les réparations sur l'appareil exclusivement à des entre-
prises agréées ou au service après-vente. Toute réparation non
conforme peut entraîner des risques importants pour l'utilisateur.
Toute réclamation au titre de la garantie serait déclarée irrecevable suite
à une réparation non conforme.
N’immergez jamais l’appareil dans de l’eau ou dans d’autres
liquides ! Il y a danger de mort par électrocution, si des résidus de liquide entrent en contact avec des pièces sous tension
pendant le fonctionnement.

ATTENTION - RISQUE D'ACCIDENT !
► Réchauff er l'eau uniquement lorsque le couvercle est fermé, sinon le
dispositif automatique de coupure de fonctionnera pas. De l'eau
bouillante risque alors de déborder de la bouilloire.
► Des vapeurs chaudes peuvent se dégager. La bouilloire est de plus
très chaude pendant le fonctionnement. Portez par conséquent des
gants de cuisine.
► Assurez-vous que l'appareil repose sur un support stable et en
position verticale avant de le mettre en marche. Lorsque l'eau
commence à bouillir, elle peut entraîner la chute de l'appareil s'il
n'est pas installé sur une surface plane.
► N’ouvrez pas le couvercle pendant que l’eau bout.
► Les personnes souff rant d’un handicap physique, sensoriel ou
mental ou ne détenant pas l’expérience et/ou les connaissances
nécessaires pourront utiliser cet appareil à condition de le faire
sous surveillance, ou que son utilisation sûre leur ait été enseignée et qu’elles aient compris les dangers qui en émanent.
► Les enfants à partir de 8 ans et plus pourront utiliser cet appareil
à condition de le faire sous surveillance, ou que son utilisation
sûre leur ait été enseignée et qu’elles aient compris les dangers
qui en émanent. Le nettoyage et la maintenance ne doivent pas
être confi és à des enfants, sauf s’ils sont âgés de 8 ans ou plus et
qu’ils eff ectuent ces opérations sous surveillance. Éloignez l’appareil
et son cordon de raccordement des enfants âgés de moins de 8 ans.
► Ne laissez pas les enfants jouer avec l’appareil.

ATTENTION - RISQUE DE DÉGÂTS MATÉRIELS !
► Ne pas utiliser de minuterie externe ou de dispositif de commande
à distance pour faire fonctionner l'appareil.
► En cours d'utilisation, ne jamais laisser l'appareil sans surveillance.
► S'assurer qu'il n'y a pas de risque de contact de l'appareil, du
câble ou du connecteur avec un point chaud (plaque chauff ante,
fl ammes, etc.).

Déballage
♦ Sortir du carton toutes les pièces de l'appareil et le mode d'emploi.
♦ Retirer tous les matériaux d'emballage.
Recyclage de l'emballage
L'emballage protège l'appareil de tous dommages éventuels au cours du transport.
Les matériaux d'emballage ont été sélectionnés selon des critères de respect de
l'environnement et de recyclage, de sorte qu'ils peuvent être recyclés.
Le retour de l'emballage dans les fi lières de recyclage permet d'économiser les
matières premières et réduit les quantités de déchets. Recycler les matériaux
d'emballage qui ne sont plus utilisés en conformité avec la réglementation.
REMARQUE
Dans la mesure du possible, conservez l'emballage d'origine pendant la
►
période sous garantie, afi n de pouvoir emballer l'appareil en bonne et
due forme pour l'expédition si vous étiez amené à faire valoir la garantie.
Mise en service
ATTENTION - RISQUE D'ACCIDENT !
► Utilisez toujours exclusivement de l'eau potable fraîche ! Ne consommez
surtout pas d'eau qui n'est pas désignée comme de l'eau potable.
Sinon, vous courrez le risque de mettre votre santé en péril !
Avant de mettre l'appareil en service, assurez-vous que ...
– l'appareil, le connecteur et le cordon d'alimentation sont en parfait
état et ...
– que tous les matériaux d'emballage sont retirés de l'appareil.
1) Remplissez l'appareil avec de l'eau jusqu'au repère MAX et amenez-la à
ébullition – comme présenté au chapitre suivant.
2) Jetez cette eau que vous venez de faire bouillir.
3) Rincez la bouilloire à l'eau claire.
4) Remplissez encore une fois l'appareil avec de l'eau jusqu'au repère MAX
et portez-la à ébullition. Jetez également cette eau.
L'appareil est maintenant prêt à l'emploi.

Faire bouillir de l'eau
DANGER - RISQUE DE CHOC ÉLECTRIQUE !
Ne jamais disposer le socle électrique 4 à proximité d'un récipient d'eau
►
ou similaire,– risque d'accident mortel par électrocution !
ATTENTION - RISQUE D'ACCIDENT !
► Utilisez toujours de l'eau potable fraîche. Ne consommez pas une eau se
trouvant depuis plus d'une heure dans la bouilloire. Ne faites pas bouillir à
nouveau de l'eau refroidie. Jetez toujours une eau pas fraîche pour éviter
toute formation de germes !
REMARQUE
Veillez toujours à ce que l’interrupteur de mise en marche/d’arrêt 3 soit
►
placé sur «0», lorsque la fi che secteur est débranchée et que l’appareil est
posé sur le socle 4. Sinon, l’appareil chauff e par inadvertance, dès que
vous raccordez la fi che secteur au réseau électrique.
1) Retirer la bouilloire pour la remplir !
2) Ouvrir le couvercle en appuyant sur la touche de déverrouillage 1.
REMARQUE
Tenez la bouilloire à la verticale pendant que vous la remplissez. L'échelle 2
►
est alors bien lisible.
3) Remplissez la bouilloire...
– au minimum jusqu’au repère 0,7 l, afi n d’éviter toute surchauff e de
l’appareil,
– au maximum jusqu’au repère MAX, afi n d’éviter tout débordement d’eau
bouillante.
4) Refermez le couvercle et placez la bouilloire sur le socle 4, en vérifi ant que
celle-ci est bien en place sur le socle 4.
5) Insérez ensuite la fi che secteur dans la prise.
6) Appuyez sur l’interrupteur de mise en marche/d’arrêt 3, afi n qu’il s’enclenche.

REMARQUES
Cet appareil est pourvu d'une sécurité anti-surchauff e ! Si l'appareil est

mis en marche par mégarde sans eau dans la bouilloire, l'appareil se met
automatiquement à l'arrêt.
L'appareil se met à l'arrêt automatiquement s'il fonctionne à sec (couvercle
non refermé par exemple.)
Laisser dans ce cas refroidir l'appareil avant de le réutiliser.
Nettoyage et entretien

Avant chaque nettoyage, ne pas oublier pas de débrancher le connecteur

de la prise secteur ! Sinon, il y a un risque de choc électrique !
► N'ouvrez jamais des pièces du boîtier. La machine ne contient aucun
élément de commande dans ces pièces. Risque d'accident mortel par
électrocution en laissant le boîtier ouvert.
N’immergez jamais l’appareil dans de l’eau ou dans d’autres liquides !
Il y a danger de mort par électrocution, si des résidus de liquide entrent
en contact avec des pièces sous tension pendant le fonctionnement.

► Avant un nettoyage, laisser l'appareil se refroidir complètement.

ATTENTION - RISQUE DE DÉGÂTS MATÉRIELS !
Ne pas utiliser de produit nettoyant récurant ou corrosif. Ces produits

pourraient attaquer la surface et endommager l'appareil de manière
irrémédiable.
■ Nettoyez toutes les surfaces extérieures ainsi que le cordon d'alimentation
à l'aide d'un chiff on légèrement humide. Sécher soigneusement l'appareil avant de le réutiliser. En cas de taches tenaces, appliquer un produit
détergent doux. Bien vérifi er qu'il ne reste pas de traces de détergent sur ou
dans l'appareil avant de le réutiliser.
■ Rincez l’intérieur de la bouilloire à l’eau claire.
■ En cas de dépôts dans la bouilloire, essuyez les surfaces intérieures à l’aide
d’un chiff on humide ou utilisez une brosse à vaisselle ou un écouvillon. Ensuite,
rincez de nouveau la bouilloire à l’eau claire.

En cas de présence de restes de calcaire
Les dépôts de calcaire (tartre) dans l'appareil entraînent des pertes énergétiques
et raccourcissent la durée de vie de l'appareil.
Détartrer l'appareil dès qu'apparaissent des dépôts de calcaire.
■ Utilisez un détartrant approprié pour les conteneurs de produits alimentaires
(produit commercialisé dans un magasin d'équipements ménagers, détartrant
pour machine à café par exemple). Respecter les consignes d'utilisation du
détartrant.
■ Après le détartrage, rincer abondamment l'appareil à l'eau claire.
Rangement
■ Attendre que l'appareil soit complètement refroidi avant de le ranger.
■ Enrouler le cordon d'alimentation autour de l'enrouleur 5 sous le socle 4.
■ Ranger l'appareil dans un endroit au sec.

Mise au rebut
L'appareil ne doit jamais être jeté dans la poubelle domestique
usuelle. Cet appareil est soumis aux impératifs de la directive
européenne 2012/19/EU.
Remettre un appareil hors d'usage dans un point de collecte agréé. Respecter la
réglementation en vigueur. En cas de doute, prendre contact avec les services
techniques de la mairie.
Remarque concernant la déclaration de conformité CE
Cet appareil est conforme aux exigences fondamentales
et aux prescriptions correspondantes de la directive sur la
compatibilité électromagnétique (CEM) 2004/108/EC et
de la directive "Basse tension" 2006/95/EC.
La déclaration de conformité originale est disponible chez
l'importateur.

Garantie
Cet appareil bénéfi cie de 3 ans de garantie à compter de la date d'achat. L'appareil a été fabriqué et testé dans le cadre d'un système d'assurance qualité.
Veuillez conserver le ticket de caisse en guise de preuve d'achat. Dans le cas
où la garantie s'applique, veuillez appeler le service après-vente concerné.
Cette condition doit être respectée pour assurer l'expédition gratuite de votre
marchandise.
REMARQUE
Le produit est destiné exclusivement à un usage dans un cadre privé, non professionnel. La garantie est annulée en cas de manipulation incorrecte et inappropriée,
d'action brutale dans l'utilisation et en cas d'intervention qui n'aurait pas été
réalisée par notre centre de service après-vente agréé.
Cette garantie ne constitue pas une restriction de vos droits légaux.
La période de garantie n'est pas prolongée au cas où une prestation au titre
de la garantie aurait été eff ectuée. Cette disposition s'applique également aux
pièces remplacées et réparées.
Les dommages et défauts éventuellement déjà présents à l'achat doivent être
notifi és dès le déballage, au plus tard deux jours après la date d'achat.
Toute réparation eff ectuée après expiration de la période sous garantie fera
l'objet d'une facturation.
Indépendamment de la garantie commerciale souscrite, le vendeur reste tenu des
défauts de conformité du bien et des vices rédhibitoires dans les conditions prévues
aux articles L211-4 et suivants du Code de la consommation et aux articles 1641

Sicherheitshinweise
GEFAHR - ELEKTRISCHER SCHLAG!
► Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Sockel mit den elektrischen Anschlüs-
sen niemals mit Wasser in Berührung kommt! Lassen Sie den Sockel
erst vollständig trocknen, wenn er versehentlich feucht geworden ist.
► Verwenden Sie den Wasserkocher nur mit dem mitgelieferten
Sockel.
► Achten Sie darauf, dass im Betrieb das Netzkabel niemals nass
oder feucht wird. Führen Sie es so, dass es nicht eingeklemmt
oder anderweitig beschädigt werden kann.
► Lassen Sie beschädigte Netzstecker oder Netzkabel sofort von
autorisiertem Fachpersonal oder dem Kundenservice austauschen,
um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.
► Ziehen Sie nach Gebrauch immer den Stecker aus der Steckdose.
Ausschalten alleine genügt nicht, weil noch immer Netzspannung im Gerät anliegt, solange der Netzstecker in der Steckdose
steckt.
► Kontrollieren Sie das Gerät vor der Verwendung auf äußere sichtbare
Schäden. Nehmen Sie ein beschädigtes oder heruntergefallenes Gerät
nicht in Betrieb.
► Lassen Sie Reparaturen am Gerät nur von autorisierten Fachbe-
trieben oder dem Kundenservice durchführen. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen.

► Erhitzen Sie Wasser immer nur bei geschlossenem Deckel, andern-
falls funktioniert die Abschaltautomatik nicht. Kochendes Wasser
kann dann über den Rand herausspritzen.
► Es können heiße Dampfschwaden entweichen. Die Kanne ist zu-
dem im Betrieb sehr heiß. Tragen Sie daher Topf-Handschuhe.
► Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät stabil und senkrecht steht, bevor
Sie dieses einschalten. Kochendes Wasser kann ein unstabil stehendes Gerät zum Umstürzen bringen.
► Öff nen Sie nicht den Deckel, während das Wasser kocht.
► Geräte können von Personen mit reduzierten physischen, sensori-
schen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und/
oder Wissen benutzt werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt oder bezüglich des sicheren Gebrauchs des Gerätes unterwiesen wurden und

Vorbereitungen
Auspacken
♦ Entnehmen Sie alle Teile des Gerätes und die Bedienungsanleitung aus dem
Karton.
♦ Entfernen Sie sämtliches Verpackungsmaterial.
Entsorgung der Verpackung
Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.
Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoff e und
verringert das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungsmaterialien gemäß den örtlich geltenden Vorschriften.
HINWEIS
Heben Sie wenn möglich die Originalverpackung während der Garan-

tiezeit des Gerätes auf, um das Gerät im Garantiefall ordnungsgemäß
verpacken zu können.
Inbetriebnahme

► Verwenden Sie immer nur frisches Trinkwasser im Wasserkocher! Ver-
zehren Sie kein Wasser, welches nicht als Trinkwasser ausgewiesen ist.
Ansonsten besteht die Gefahr von Gesundheitsschäden!
Bevor Sie das Gerät in Betrieb nehmen, überzeugen Sie sich davon, dass ...
– das Gerät, Netzstecker und Netzkabel in einwandfreiem Zustand sind
und...
– alle Verpackungsmaterialien vom Gerät entfernt sind.

1) Befüllen Sie das Gerät mit Wasser bis zur MAX-Markierung und lassen Sie
es einmal ganz aufkochen – wie im nächsten Kapitel beschrieben.
2) Gießen Sie dieses Wasser nach dem Aufkochen weg.
3) Spülen Sie die Kanne mit klarem Wasser aus.
4) Befüllen Sie das Gerät noch einmal mit Wasser bis zur MAX-Markierung und
lassen Sie es aufkochen. Gießen Sie auch dieses Wasser weg.
Das Gerät ist nun betriebsbereit.

Bringen Sie niemals den elektrischen Sockel 4 in die Nähe von Wasser –

► Verwenden Sie immer frisches Trinkwasser. Verzehren Sie kein Wasser,
welches schon länger als eine Stunde im Wasserkocher gestanden hat.
Kochen Sie kein erkaltetes Wasser erneut auf. Schütten Sie altes Wasser
immer weg. Es können sich Keime bilden!
HINWEIS
Stellen Sie immer sicher, dass der EIN-/AUS-Schalter 3 in der Stellung „0“
►
steht, wenn der Netzstecker gezogen ist und das Gerät auf dem Sockel
4 steht. Ansonsten heizt das Gerät unbeabsichtigt auf, sobald Sie den
Netzstecker mit dem Stromnetz verbinden.
1) Nehmen Sie die Kanne ab zum Befüllen!
2) Öff nen Sie den Deckel, indem Sie die Entriegelungstaste 1 drücken.
HINWEIS
Halten Sie beim Befüllen die Kanne senkrecht. Nur dann können Sie die

Skala 2 richtig ablesen.
3) Befüllen Sie die Kanne...
– mindestens bis zur Markierung 0,7 L, damit das Gerät nicht überhitzt,
– maximal bis zur MAX-Markierung, damit kein kochendes Wasser heraus
schwappt.
4) Schließen Sie erst den Deckel und setzen danach die Kanne so auf den
Sockel 4, dass diese fest auf dem Sockel 4 steht.
5) Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in die Steckdose.
6) Drücken Sie den EIN-/AUS-Schalter 3 nach unten, so dass er einrastet.

ACHTUNG - SACHSCHADEN!
Benutzen Sie keine scheuernden oder ätzenden Reinigungsmittel. Diese

können die Oberfl äche angreifen und das Gerät irreparabel beschädigen.
■ Reinigen Sie alle Außenfl ächen und das Netzkabel mit einem leicht ange-
feuchteten Spültuch. Trocknen Sie das Gerät auf jeden Fall gut ab, bevor Sie
es erneut verwenden. Bei hartnäckigeren Verschmutzungen geben Sie ein
mildes Spülmittel auf das Tuch. Achten Sie darauf, dass sich keine Spülmittelreste am und im Gerät befi nden, bevor Sie es wieder in Betrieb nehmen.
■ Spülen Sie das Innere der Kanne mit klarem Wasser aus.
■ Bei Ablagerungen in der Kanne, wischen Sie die Innenfl ächen mit einem
feuchten Tuch ab oder benutzen Sie eine Spül- oder Flaschenbürste. Spülen
Sie die Kanne danach noch einmal mit klarem Wasser aus.

Bei Kalk-Rückständen
Kalkablagerungen im Gerät führen zu Energieverlusten und beeinträchtigen die
Lebensdauer des Gerätes.
Entkalken Sie das Gerät, sobald sich Kalkablagerungen zeigen.
■ Nehmen Sie einen für Lebensmittelbehälter geeigneten Kalklöser aus dem
Haushaltswarengeschäft (z.B. Kaff eemaschinen-Entkalker). Gehen Sie wie in
der Bedienungsanleitung des Kalklösers beschrieben vor.
■ Reinigen Sie nach dem Entkalken das Gerät mit viel klarem Wasser.
Aufbewahren
■ Lassen Sie das Gerät erst vollständig auskühlen, bevor Sie es wegstellen.
■ Wickeln Sie das Netzkabel um die Kabelaufwicklung 5 unter dem Sockel 4.
■ Lagern Sie das Gerät an einem trockenen Ort.

RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
► Ensure that the base with the electrical connections NEVER comes
into contact with water! Ensure that the base is completely dry
before use, especially if it has accidentally become wet.
► Use the kettle only with the supplied base.
► Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp during
operation. Lay the cable so that it cannot be trapped or otherwise
damaged.
► To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or cables to be
replaced at once by qualifi ed technicians or our Customer Service Department.
► After use, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket.
Switching the appliance off is not suffi cient, because the appliance is under power for as long as the plug is connected to the
power socket.
► Before use check the appliance for signs of visible external dam-
age. Do not put into operation an appliance that is damaged or
has been dropped.
► Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist
companies or by the Customer Service department. Incompetent

► Heat water only with the lid closed, otherwise the automatic switch-
off cannot function. Boiling water could then spray out over the rim.
► Hot steam clouds may be released. The kettle also becomes very
hot during use. It is always best to wear oven mitts when handling
the kettle.
► Ensure that the appliance is stood stably and vertically before
switching it on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to fall over.
► Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and
reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is
no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible, preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty

period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can pack the appliance
ideally for its return.
Initial use

► Always and only use freshly drawn mains water in the kettle! Do not con-
sume any water that is not certifi ed as potable. If you do, you are taking a

Before starting the appliance up, make certain that ...
– the appliance, plug and power cable are in a serviceable condition
and ...
– all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance.

1) Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX marking and let it come to a
full boil once – as described in the next section.
2) After it has boiled, pour this water away.
3) Rinse the kettle out with clear water.
4) Fill the appliance with water once again, up to the MAX marking, and
then bring it to boil. When done, pour this water away also.
The appliance is now ready for use.

Never place the electrical base 4 close to water – this would be a

potentially fatal risk!
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
► Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has
already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water
that has cooled down. Always pour old water away. Microbes could have
formed in it!
NOTE
Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch 3 is turned to “0” when the mains
►
plug is unplugged and the device is standing on the base 4.
If not, the device could heat up unintendedly as soon as the mains plug is
plugged in again.
1) Lift the kettle off of the base when fi lling it!
2) Press the unlocking button 1 and open the lid.
NOTE
When fi lling it, hold the kettle upright. This is the only way to read the
►
markings on the scale 2 correctly.
3) Fill the kettle...
– at least as far as the 0.7 l mark, so that the appliance does not overheat,
– no further than the MAX mark, so that boiling water cannot spill out.
4) First close the lid, then place the kettle on the base 4, so that it sits securely
on the base 4.
5) Now insert the plug into the mains power socket.
6) Press the ON/OFF switch 3 downwards so that it engages.

INFORMATION
This appliance is fi tted with an overheating protector: if the appliance is

switched on accidentally, without any water in the kettle, the appliance
automatically switches itself off .
If, for example due to a non-closed lid the appliance boils dry, the appliance
switches off automatically.
In such cases fi rst allow the appliance to cool down before using it again.
Cleaning and Care

■ Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slightly damp cloth.
Be sure to dry the appliance well before taking it back into use. For stubborn
soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Ensure that there are no detergent
residues in and on the appliance before it is taken back into use.
■ Rinse the inside of the kettle out with clean water.
■ If there are any deposits in the kettle, wipe out the inside surface with a moist
cloth, or use a washing up brush or bottle brush. Then rinse the kettle out
with clean water again.

In the event of scale deposits:
Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy consumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.
Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.
■ Use a descaler designed for household appliances (e.g. for coff ee machines).
Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the decalcifying
agent.
■ After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean water.
Storage
■ Allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting it into storage.
■ Wind the power cable around the cable winder 5 under the base 4.
■ Store the appliance at a dry location.
