1. Intended use
The pocket radio is designed to receive FM/AM radio transmissions and for listening to radio programmes. The radio is not intended for use in commercial or industrial areas. Utilisation other than as described here is not permitted and it could lead to damages and injuries. No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from misuse or improper handling, the application of force or unauthorised modifications.

This device has been tested and approved in accordance with the basic requirements and other relevent regulations of the EMV directive 2004/108/EC.
Battery operation: 2 x 1.5 V, Type AA/LR6/Mignon Max. output power: approx. 20 mW Frequency range: AM (MW): 526,5 - 1606,5 kHz FM (UKW): 87,5 - 108 MHz
The technical capabilities of this device make possible an adjustable frequency range that lies beyond the permitted frequency ranges of 87,5–108 MHz and 526,5 – 1606,5 kHz. In some countries, different national regulations may apply in regard to the assigned radio frequency ranges. Note that information received from transmissions outside the assigned radio frequency ranges may not be exploited, passed on to third parties or otherwise improperly misused.

4. Safety Instructions
• This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensorial or mental abilities or those who have a lack of experience and/or knowledge unless, of course, for their own safety they are supervised by a responsible person or they receive instructions from that person on how to use the device.
• Children should be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with the device.

To avoid life-threatening electric shocks:
• Devices that do not function properly or that are damaged should be returned to customer service for repair or exchange as soon as possible.
• Only use the device in dry rooms.
• NEVER submerse the device in water. Wipe it only with a slightly damp cloth.
• Make sure that liquids and/or objects are never able to enter into the device.
• Do not place water-filled receptacles (e.g. flower vases) on the device.
• You may not open the casing or repair the device yourself. Should you do so, the safety of the device may be compromised and the warranty becomes void. Repairs are to be carried out exclusively in a specialist firm or in a service centre.
Risk of explosion!
Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not recharge the batteries.
To avoid the risks of fire or injury:
• Do not place candles or other open fire sources on the device.
• Do not use the device in the vicinity of hot surfaces.
• Do not keep the device in places that are exposed to direct sunlight. If you do, it may overheat and become irreparably damaged.
• Place the device in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat build up.
• Never cover the ventilation openings!

• Avoid any additional heat build up, e.g. direct sunlight, heaters, other devices, etc.
• Keep children away from the connecting cable and the device. Children frequently underestimate the danger from electrical appliances.
• Make sure to find a safe place for the device.
• Do not operate the device if it has sustained a fall or is damaged. Arrange for the device to be checked and/or repaired by qualified technicians.
• Keep batteries away from children. Children can put batteries into their mouths and swallow them. Should a battery be swallowed, IMMEDIATELY seek professional medical assistance.
