Safety instructions
Injury Hazard!
• Do not allow the measuring tape to rewind itself without control.
• NEVER leave children unsupervised with the measuring tape.
The appliance contains a Class 2 laser. NEVER direct the laser beam at people or animals. NEVER look directly into the laser. The laser can cause serious eye damage.
• Do NOT direct the laser beam at strongly reflective material. Reflected laser beams are also dangerous.
• Any adjustment intended to increase the intensity of the laser beam is forbidden. No liabilty will be accepted for damage resulting from manipu­lation of the laser equipment as well as that caused by disregarding these safety instructions.

Information regarding the interaction with batteries
The device uses batteries. In regard to interaction with batteries, please observe the following:
Risk of explosion!
• Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not recharge the batteries.
• Never open batteries, never solder or weld batteries. The risk of explosions and injuries exists!
• Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking batteries can cause damage to the device.
• If you do not intend to use the device for an extended period, remove the batteries.
• If the batteries have leaked, to avoid the risk of injury through chemical burns put on a pair of protective gloves before removing the batteries.
• Clean the battery compartment and the battery contacts with a dry cloth.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children can put batteries into their mouths and swallow them. If a battery is swallowed, medical assistance must be sought IMMEDIATELY.
Intended Usage
This tape measure serves for the measuring of lengths. Additionally, horizontal and vertical laser lines can be projected. The Measuring Tape with Marking Laser is intended for private domestic use only, do not use it for commercial purposes.

Inserting the batteries
• Open the battery compartment o.
• Ensure that the tape used to remove the batteries lies underneath
the batteries.
• Insert the batteries into the battery compartment as shown on
the battery compartment lid
• Close the battery compartment lid.

Using the measuring tape
With the measuring tape you can read off measurements of length in the metric system or in the Anglo/American system. The upper scale shows lengths in feet and inches, the lower scale in meters and centimeters.
• Pull out the tape measure
