Introduction
It is recommended that all sections of this owner's guide be read prior to product use.
Carefully review the Indications, Risks and Precautions and Safety Information prior
to placing a patient on any AtmosAir™ 300 and 300P Seat Cushion with Self Adjusting
Technology™ (SAT™).
Caregivers should discuss Safety Information, Risks and Precautions and
Contraindications with the patient (or the patient's legal guardians) and the
patient's family.
The AtmosAir Seat Cushion is a unique, dynamic pressure displacement system utilizing
atmospheric pressure and gravity as the energy source. Contained within each cushion
are three, patented SAT cells. These cells deliver dynamic pressure management through
a system of manifolds and preset pressure relief valves. The cushion automatically
recongures itself for elevation / temperature changes and patient movement.
The 300P Model includes an integrated positioning option, which uses a hand-controlled
air pump to adjust the cushion to compensate for pelvic obliquities.

For prevention and / or treatment of skin breakdown and for improved positioning
with patients exhibiting pelvic obliquities.
Risks and Precautions
Transfer - Standard precautions should be taken during patient transfer.
Patient Migration - Specialty surfaces have different shear and support characteristics
than conventional surfaces and may increase the risk of patient movement, sinking
and / or migration into hazardous positions of entrapment and / or inadvertent exit.
Monitor patients frequently to guard against patient entrapment.

Safety Information
Cushion Size - Always choose a properly sized cushion to match the seating area of
the wheelchair making sure the cushion is in proper front to back position and properly
secured.
Disposal - At the end of useful life, dispose of waste according to local requirements.
General Protocols
• Punctures, cuts and tears will prevent proper operation. Avoid contact of sharp
instruments with the AtmosAir 300 and 300P Seat Cushion with SAT.
• Follow all applicable safety rules and institution protocols concerning patient and
caregiver safety.
Patient Weight - The maximum patient weight for this device is 500 lb (227 kg).
In addition, consult the specications for the chair being used. Additional weight
limitations may apply.
Skin Care - Monitor skin conditions regularly and consider adjunct or alternative therapies
for high acuity patients. Give extra attention to any possible pressure points and locations
where moisture or incontinence may occur or collect. Early intervention may be essential
to preventing skin breakdown.

Installing the AtmosAir 300 / 300P Seat Cushion
1. Remove AtmosAir Seat Cushion from plastic protective cover.
The cushion cover may appear wrinkled when unpacked. To remove wrinkles,
allow cushion up to 24 hours to acclimate; see Troubleshooting table on page 6
for more information. Wrinkles will not affect ination or function, so cushion may
be used immediately if needed.
2. Check cushion surface for tears or cracking; do not use if tears or cracks are
present.
3. If re-installing cushion onto a new chair or for a new patient, check cushion
surface for staining and soiling; clean and / or disinfect as required
(see Care and Cleaning section on page 5).
4. Lock brakes on wheelchair.
5. Remove any existing cushion from wheelchair.
6. Position the AtmosAir Seat Cushion on the wheelchair ensuring that the cushion
is oriented correctly. Ensure there are no gaps at the sides or back of the cushion.
Ensure the cushion is properly secured to prevent sliding or shifting.
Transfer Patient to the AtmosAir 300 /
300P Seat Cushion
1. Verify all brakes are locked.
2. Transfer patient following all applicable safety rules and institution protocols.

Adjust Cushion Positioning (300P Model)
There are three sections of the seat cushion that can be inated separately or in any
combination. The three sections are the left buttock / thigh area, the right buttock / thigh
area and the front area of the cushion.

4. Disconnect the hand pump from cushion
tubing by pressing on metal release
mechanism.
Deation:
1. Reconnect hand pump to the desired section of tubing as described in step 1,
above.
2. Turn hand pump valve counterclockwise to the unlock position.
3. When the desired state of deation is reached, return hand pump valve to
the locked position.
4. Disconnect hand pump as described in step 4, above.

Care and Cleaning
General instructions
When blood and / or body uids are present, consult a healthcare professional
for proper use of the following throughout all cleaning procedures:
• impermeable or waterproof gloves
• plastic apron or gown
• protective eyewear
Laundering Procedure for Cushion Cover and Inner Liner
Do not use solvents or alcohol.
1. Set washing machine for warm wash using
the longest wash cycle and cold water rinse.
2. Spray heavily soiled areas with stain-removing
prewash spray.
3. Add a high-quality liquid detergent measured
in accordance with manufacturer’s directions.
Use detergent only. Do not add bleach to wash
water when laundering cushion cover unless it is physician recommended.
Consult your physician if there are specic infection control concerns. Add
a maximum of one cup of bleach to wash water (1/2 oz / 14.78 mL per
gallon / liter).
4. Allow washing machine to agitate for two minutes before adding cushion cover.
5. Add soiled items to washing machine.
Do not overload washing machine. Exceeding the capacity of the machine
may prevent thorough cleaning.
6. Remove items from washer after a full cycle is completed.
7. Remove excess water from cushion cover.
8. Place items into dryer. Tumble dry on low heat. Do not use high heat.

Cleaning Procedure for Hoses and SAT System
The hoses and SAT System should be cleaned using any all-purpose household cleaner
suitable for use on plastics. After cleaning, wipe with a clean dry cloth. DO NOT CLEAN
WITH SOLVENTS OR PRODUCTS NOT SUITABLE FOR PLASTIC PRODUCTS.

Preventive Maintenance Schedule
Preventive maintenance for the AtmosAir Seat Cushion consists of regular cleaning and
an overall system check-out to be performed at the intervals described below. Refer to
the Care and Cleaning section of this guide for laundry and cleaning procedures.
Daily Cleaning
The cover should be wiped down daily with a mild soap and water solution.
Weekly Cleaning
The cover and eece inner liner should be laundered at least weekly, depending on soiling.
The hoses and SAT System should be cleaned weekly.
Inspection / System Check-Out
Check each of the following before placing the AtmosAir Seat Cushion with a new patient:
1. Check cushion surface for tears or cracking; do not use if tears or cracks are
present.
2. Ensure cushion cover is free of stains and is not overly faded.
Troubleshooting
It is recommended that all sections of this guide be reviewed before troubleshooting any
AtmosAir Seat Cushion.
Do not attempt troubleshooting outside this guide or where the remedy recommends to
contact a ArjoHuntleigh service representative. Any unauthorized service, modication,
alteration, or misuse may lead to serious injury and / or product damage and will void all
applicable warranties.

Warranty
5/2-Year Warranty (applicable to sewn cover models only):
In connection with your purchase of an AtmosAir Seat Cushion (sewn cover model), ArjoHuntleigh, Inc. (referred to
herein as “ArjoHuntleigh”) warrants, to the original purchaser, its AtmosAir Seat Cushion against manufacturer’s defects
in material and / or workmanship for a period of ve (5) years from the date of purchase on the Seat Cushion and so long
as all applicable procedures** are followed.
Conditions and Limitations:
Under this warranty, upon reasonable notice, ArjoHuntleigh will replace or repair defective parts or whole units
covered under this warranty at its sole option. No returns or replacements will be allowed without authorization from
ArjoHuntleigh. This warranty applies to material / parts replacement costs and labor costs only and does not include
shipping and handling costs or disposal fees.
This warranty does not extend to, nor cover:
• Patient wearables, such as, but not limited to, non-integrated cover sheets(s) and disposables used in conjunction
with the mattress; or
• Normal wear and tear; or
• Damage, including rust, corrosion or product failure due to causes beyond ArjoHuntleigh’s control such as, but not
limited to abuse, theft, re, ood, wind, lightning, freezing, power failure, power reduction, clogging of mattress
pores due to tobacco smoke, unusual atmospheric conditions, foam deterioration due to exposure to moisture,
or other acts of God; or
• Damage to mattress or mattresses handles through use of the mattress for patient transfer or transport.
ArjoHuntleigh reserves the right to make material changes to the product predicated upon the availability of raw materials
of like quality.
Service beyond that described in the User's Guide must be carried out by ArjoHuntleigh or such other entities as may be
approved by ArjoHuntleigh in writing.
This warranty is VOID if:
• Proof of purchase cannot be made by the original purchaser;
• Adjustment, modication, maintenance, and / or repair beyond that described in the User Manual is carried out by
entities not approved in writing by ArjoHuntleigh;
• The electrical installation of the room does not comply with the appropriate national electrical wiring standards;
• The equipment is not used in accordance with the instructions and warnings enumerated in the User Manual.
This warranty is in no way to be construed as an extension of any periodic or preventive maintenance agreement,
extended service agreement or in-service agreement entered into by the parties.
THE FOREGOING BASIC WARRANTY MADE BY ArjoHuntleigh IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. ArjoHuntleigh IS NOT LIABLE FOR
CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES AND EXPENSES, INCLUDING DAMAGES TO PERSON
OR PROPERTY, DUE IN WHOLE OR IN PART TO THE USE OF THE PRODUCT EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE
REQUIRED BY LAW.
**Applicable procedures include, without limitation, those set out in the accompanying User Manual and
other guidelines and procedures provided by ArjoHuntleigh.
NOTE: To the extent any portion of this warranty is held invalid under federal, state or local law, such invalidity

Einführung
Vor der Verwendung des Produkts sind alle Abschnitte in diesem Handbuch zu lesen.
Bevor ein Patient auf dem Sitzkissen AtmosAir™ 300 oder 300P mit selbstregulierender
Self Adjusting Technology™ (SAT™) platziert wird, sind die Abschnitte zu Indikationen,
Risiken und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen sowie die Sicherheitshinweise aufmerksam
zu lesen.
Das Pegepersonal sollte Sicherheitshinweise, Risiken und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
sowie Kontraindikationen mit dem Patienten (bzw. seinem gesetzlichen Vormund)
und seiner Familie besprechen.
Das AtmosAir Sitzkissen ist ein einzigartiges System zur dynamischen Druckverlagerung,
das den Luftdruck und die Schwerkraft als Energiequellen nutzt. Jedes Kissen enthält drei
Luftzellen mit der patentierten SAT -Technologie. Diese Zellen gleichen den Druck über
ein System aus Druckluftverteilern und Überdruckventilen dynamisch aus. Das Kissen
passt sich automatisch Höhen- und Temperaturänderungen sowie Bewegungen des
Patienten an.
Das Modell 300P verfügt über eine integrierte Positionierungsoption, bei der das Kissen
mittels einer Handluftpumpe zum Ausgleich eines Beckenschiefstands angepasst
werden kann.

Risiken und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
Transfer: Beim Umlagern des Patienten sind die üblichen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen zu treffen.
Lageveränderungen des Patienten: Spezialoberächen haben andere Scherkräfte und
Stützeigenschaften als herkömmliche Oberächen. Dadurch kann das Risiko für eine
unbeabsichtigte Bewegung des Patienten, für ein Einsinken und/oder eine Verlagerung
des Patienten in eine gefährliche Position, in der der Patient eingeklemmt werden und/oder
stürzen könnte, zunehmen. Der Patient muss regelmäßig überwacht werden, um
ein Einklemmen zu verhindern.

Sicherheitshinweise
Kissengröße: Wählen Sie immer die richtige Kissengröße für die Sitzäche des
Rollstuhls, und vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Kissen richtig herum positioniert und
sicher befestigt ist.
Entsorgung: Ausgediente Produkte oder Abfall sind gemäß den örtlichen Vorschriften
zu entsorgen.
Allgemeine Protokolle
• Löcher, Schnitte oder Risse beeinträchtigen den einwandfreien Betrieb. Die Sitzkissen
AtmosAir 300 und 300P mit SAT-Technologie dürfen nicht mit scharfen Gegenständen
in Kontakt kommen.
• Es sind alle geltenden Sicherheitsbestimmungen und Institutsrichtlinien zum Schutz
von Patienten und Pegepersonal zu beachten.
Körpergewicht des Patienten: Das maximal zulässige Patientengewicht für dieses
Sitzkissen beträgt 227 kg (500 lbs). Beachten Sie zudem auch die Spezikationen des
verwendeten Stuhls. Möglicherweise bestehen noch weitere Gewichtsbeschränkungen.
Hautpege: Der Zustand der Haut ist regelmäßig zu überprüfen. Bei Hochrisikopatienten
sind Zusatz- oder Alternativtherapien in Erwägung zu ziehen. Auf alle Druckstellen und
Hautstellen, an denen sich Feuchtigkeit sammeln oder Inkontinenz auftreten kann, ist
besonders zu achten. Frühzeitiges Handeln ist unbedingt erforderlich, um schwere
Hautschäden zu verhindern.

Installieren des Sitzkissens AtmosAir 300/300P
1. Nehmen Sie das AtmosAir Sitzkissen aus der Plastik-Schutzhülle.
Der Sitzbezug kann nach dem Auspacken verknittert sein. Zum Entfernen der
Falten lassen Sie das Kissen bis zu 24 Stunden akklimatisieren; siehe dazu die
Tabelle zur Fehlerbehebung auf Seite 24. Falten haben keine Auswirkungen
auf das Aufpumpen oder die Funktion des Kissens; es kann bei Bedarf sofort
verwendet werden.
2. Überprüfen Sie die Oberäche des Kissens auf Risse bzw. Brüche; nicht
verwenden, wenn die Matratze Risse oder Brüche aufweist.
3. Wenn Sie das Kissen auf einem neuen Stuhl anbringen oder für einen neuen
Patienten verwenden möchten, überprüfen Sie die Kissenoberäche auf Flecken
und Verschmutzung. Reinigen und/oder desinzieren Sie das Kissen nach Bedarf
(siehe Abschnitt „Pege und Reinigung“ auf Seite 23).
4. Arretieren Sie die Bremsen des Rollstuhls.
5. Entfernen Sie etwaige Kissen vom Rollstuhl.
6. Platzieren Sie das AtmosAir Sitzkissen auf dem Rollstuhl, und vergewissern Sie
sich, dass es richtig herum positioniert ist. Stellen Sie sicher, dass es an den
Seiten und hinten am Kissen keine Lücken gibt. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das
Kissen sicher befestigt ist und nicht herunterrutschen oder verrutschen kann.

7. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Bremsen arretiert sind.
8. Betten Sie den Patienten unter Beachtung der geltenden Sicherheitsregeln und

Das Sitzkissen verfügt über drei Bereiche, die unabhängig voneinander und in beliebiger
Kombination aufgepumpt werden können. Diese drei Bereiche sind Gesäß/Oberschenkel

2. Drehen Sie das Ventil der Handpumpe entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn auf
die Entriegelungsposition.
3. Wenn der gewünschte Druck erreicht ist, drehen Sie das Ventil der Handpumpe
wieder in die Verriegelungsposition.
4. Trennen Sie die Handpumpe wie in Schritt 4 oben beschrieben wieder vom
Kissen ab.

Pege und Reinigung
Allgemeine Hinweise
Fragen Sie bei Vorhandensein von Blut und/oder Körperüssigkeiten bei
allen Reinigungsmaßnahmen das medizinische Fachpersonal nach der
ordnungsgemäßen Verwendung der folgenden Ausstattung:
• Undurchlässige oder wasserdichte Handschuhe
• Kunststoffschürze oder Kittel
• Augenschutz
Waschanweisung für Sitzbezug und Innenkissen
Keine Lösungsmittel oder Alkohol verwenden.
1. Stellen Sie die Waschmaschine auf „Warm“,
und verwenden Sie den längsten Waschgang
mit kaltem Nachspülen.
2. Behandeln Sie stark verschmutzte Stellen mit
einem Fleckentferner vor.
3. Fügen Sie ein hochwertiges Flüssigwaschmittel
gemäß den Angaben des Herstellers hinzu.
Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Reinigungsmittel. Verwenden Sie keine
Chlorbleiche zum Waschen des Sitzbezugs, sofern nicht vom Arzt empfohlen.
Fragen Sie Ihren Arzt, ob besondere Schutzmaßnahmen gegen Infektionen
erforderlich sind. Fügen Sie dem Waschwasser maximal eine Tasse Bleiche
hinzu (14,78 ml/Liter bzw. 0,5 oz./gallon).
4. Lassen Sie die Waschmaschine zwei Minuten laufen, bevor Sie den Sitzbezug
hinzufügen.
5. Geben Sie die verschmutzten Teile in die Waschmaschine.
Überladen Sie die Waschmaschine nicht. Wenn Sie die Kapazität der
Waschmaschine überschreiten, wird der Inhalt ggf. nicht ganz sauber.
6. Nehmen Sie die Teile aus der Waschmaschine, wenn der Waschgang
abgeschlossen ist.
7. Drücken Sie die den Sitzbezug aus.
8. Geben Sie die Teile in den Trockner. Trocknen Sie sie bei niedriger Temperatur.
Verwenden Sie zum Trocknen keine hohe Temperatur.

Reinigungsverfahren für Schläuche und SAT-System
Die Schläuche und das SAT -System sollten mit einem Allzweckreiniger gereinigt werden,
der für Kunststoffe geeignet ist. Trocken Sie die Teile nach der Reinigung mit einem
sauberen und trockenen Tuch ab. VERWENDEN SIE KEINE LÖSUNGSMITTEL
ODER PRODUKTE, DIE NICHT FÜR KUNSTSTOFFPRODUKTE GEEIGNET SIND.

Vorbeugende Wartung
Die vorbeugende Wartung des AtmosAir Sitzkissens besteht aus der regelmäßigen
Reinigung und einer umfassenden Systemprüfung in den unten genannten Zeitabständen.
Anweisungen zur Reinigung nden Sie im Abschnitt „Pege und Reinigung“ dieser
Anleitung.
Tägliche Reinigung
Der Bezug sollte täglich mit Wasser und milder Seife abgewischt werden.
Wöchentliche Reinigung
Der Sitzbezug und das Innenkissen aus Fleece sollten abhängig vom Verschmutzungsgrad
mindestens einmal wöchentlich gewaschen werden. Die Schläuche und das SAT -System
sollten wöchentlich gereinigt werden.
Inspektion/Systemprüfung
Bevor Sie das AtmosAir Sitzkissen für einen neuen Patienten verwenden, führen Sie
die folgenden Schritte durch:
1. Überprüfen Sie die Oberäche des Kissens auf Risse bzw. Brüche; nicht
verwenden, wenn die Matratze Risse oder Brüche aufweist.
2. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Sitzbezug keine Flecken aufweist und nicht
übermäßig ausgeblichen ist.
Fehlerbehebung
Bevor Sie mit der Fehlerbehebung bei einem AtmosAir Sitzkissen beginnen, lesen Sie
alle Abschnitte dieser Anleitung durch.
Führen Sie keine Schritte zur Fehlerbehebung durch, die in dieser Anleitung nicht
ausdrücklich beschrieben sind oder bei denen empfohlen wird, den ArjoHuntleighKundendienst zu kontaktieren. Jede nicht autorisierte Wartung, Umrüstung, Änderung oder
missbräuchliche Verwendung kann zu schweren Verletzungen und/oder Produktschäden
führen und hat das Erlöschen aller geltenden Gewährleistungen zur Folge.

5/2-Jahres-Garantie (nur für Modelle mit genähtem Bezug):
In Verbindung mit Ihrem Kauf eines AtmosAir Sitzkissens (Modelle mit genähtem Bezug) erteilt ArjoHuntleigh, Inc.
(hierin als „ArjoHuntleigh“ bezeichnet) dem ursprünglichen Käufer eine Gewährleistung für das AtmosAir Sitzkissen
gegen herstellerseitige Schäden am Material und/oder Fertigungsfehler für einen Zeitraum von fünf (5) Jahren ab
Kaufdatum auf das Sitzkissen und sofern alle anwendbaren Vorgehensweisen** befolgt werden.
Bedingungen und Einschränkungen:
Auf Benachrichtigung in angemessener Weise und im Rahmen dieser Gewährleistung ersetzt oder repariert
ArjoHuntleigh nach eigenem Ermessen defekte Teile oder ganze Geräte, die unter diese Gewährleistung fallen.
Rückgaben und Umtausch erfordern die Zustimmung von ArjoHuntleigh. Diese Gewährleistung deckt nur
Umtauschkosten für Material/Teile und Arbeitskosten ab. Liefer- und Bearbeitungskosten sowie Entsorgungsgebühren
sind nicht eingeschlossen.
Nicht unter diese Gewährleistung fallen:
• Vom Patienten getragene Produkte, u. a. nicht integrierte Abdecktücher und zusammen mit der Matratze
verwendete Einwegartikel oder
• Normaler Verschleiß oder
• Beschädigung, einschließlich Rost, Korrosion oder Produktfehler, deren Ursachen nicht im Einussbereich von
ArjoHuntleigh liegen, u. a. unsachgemäßer Gebrauch, Diebstahl, Feuer, Hochwasser, Wind, Blitzeinschlag, Frost,
Stromausfall, Stromreduzierung, Verstopfung der Matratzenporen aufgrund von Tabakrauch, ungewöhnliche
klimatische Bedingungen, eine Beeinträchtigung des Schaumstoffs durch Kontakt mit Flüssigkeiten oder sonstige
höhere Gewalt oder
• Schäden am Kissen durch die Verwendung des Kissens für Umlagerung oder Transport des Patienten
ArjoHuntleigh behält sich Materialänderungen am Produkt vor, basierend auf der Verfügbarkeit von Rohstoffen gleicher
Qualität.
Servicearbeiten außerhalb des in der Bedienungsanleitung beschriebenen Umfangs müssen durch ArjoHuntleigh oder
durch von ArjoHuntleigh schriftlich zugelassene Vertreter durchgeführt werden.
Diese Gewährleistung ist NICHTIG, wenn:
• Der Originalkäufer keinen Kaufnachweis erbringen kann
• Änderungen, Umrüstungen, Wartungsarbeiten und/oder Reparaturen außerhalb des im Benutzerhandbuch
beschriebenen Umfangs durch Firmen ausgeführt werden, die von ArjoHuntleigh nicht schriftlich zugelassen
wurden.
• Die Elektroinstallation des Raums nicht den erforderlichen nationalen Standards für Elektroinstallationen
entspricht
• Das Produkt nicht entsprechend den in der Bedienungsanleitung aufgeführten Gebrauchs- und Warnhinweisen
verwendet wird
Diese Gewährleistung ist in keiner Hinsicht als eine von den Parteien geschlossene Vertragserweiterung über
regelmäßige oder vorbeugende Wartung, als erweiterter Dienstleistungsvertrag oder Vor-Ort-Service-Vertrag

Inleiding
Het wordt aanbevolen alle gedeelten van deze gebruikershandleiding te lezen alvorens
het product in gebruik te nemen. Neem de paragrafen met de indicaties, risico’s en
voorzorgsmaatregelen en de veiligheidsinformatie zorgvuldig door voordat u een
cliënt op een AtmosAir 300- en 300P zitkussen met Self Adjusting Technology™
(SAT™, Continu Automatische Drukontlasting, (CAD)) plaatst.
Zorgverleners dienen de veiligheidsinformatie, de risico’s en voorzorgsmaatregelen
en de contra-indicaties met de cliënt (of de wettelijke vertegenwoordiger van de cliënt)
en diens familie te bespreken.
Het AtmosAir-zitkussen is een uniek, dynamisch drukverdelingssysteem dat gebruikmaakt van atmosferische druk en zwaartekracht. In ieder kussen zitten drie SAT -cellen
waarvoor patent is verleend. Deze cellen leveren dynamische drukbeheersing via een
drukverdelingssysteem en vooraf ingestelde drukontlastingskleppen. Het kussen past
zich automatisch aan als reactie op wijzigingen in hoogte, temperatuur, en bewegingen
van de cliënt.
Model 300P is voorzien van een geïntegreerde positioneringshulp die een luchtpomp heeft
die u handmatig kunt bedienen en waarmee u het kussen aan kunt passen voor cliënten
met afwijkingen aan het bekken.

Risico’s en voorzorgsmaatregelen
Transfer cliënt – Bij de transfer van de cliënt dienen de standaardvoorzorgsmaatregelen
te worden getroffen.
Verplaatsen van de cliënt – De hef- en ondersteuningsmogelijkheden van speciale
ligsystemen wijken af van die van conventionele ligsystemen. Dit betekent dat er een
verhoogd risico bestaat dat een cliënt door beweging onderuitzakt en/of verschuift en in
gevaarlijke posities terechtkomt waarbij hij/zij bekneld kan raken en/of uit bed kan vallen.
Cliënten dienen regelmatig te worden gecontroleerd om beknelling te voorkomen.

Veiligheidsinformatie
Kussenformaat – Kies altijd een kussen dat is afgestemd op het zitgedeelte van de
rolstoel en zorg ervoor dat het kussen met de goede kant naar voren is geplaatst en
stevig op zijn plaats zit.
Verwijdering – Na het verstrijken van de levensduur kunt u afval conform de lokale
wetgeving verwijderen.
Algemene protocollen
• Gaten en scheuren kunnen voor een onjuiste werking van het apparaat zorgen.
Voorkom dat het AtmosAir 300- en 300P-zitkussen met SAT in contact komt met
scherpe voorwerpen.
• Volg alle van toepassing zijnde veiligheidsvoorschriften en instellingsprotocollen
op het gebied van de veiligheid van cliënten en zorgverleners op.
Gewicht cliënt – Het maximale gewicht van cliënten bedraagt voor dit apparaat 227 kg.
Raadpleeg daarnaast de specicaties van de stoel die wordt gebruikt. Mogelijk gelden
er aanvullende gewichtsbeperkingen.
Huidverzorging – Controleer de toestand van de huid regelmatig en overweeg
aanvullende of vervangende therapieën bij cliënten met een hoog risico. Besteed
extra aandacht aan mogelijke drukpunten en locaties waar zich vocht kan verzamelen
of incontinentie kan optreden. Tijdig ingrijpen kan kritiek zijn bij het voorkomen van
huidbeschadigingen.

Het AtmosAir 300-/300P-zitkussen plaatsen
1. Neem het AtmosAir-zitkussen uit de beschermende kunststof buitenhoes.
Bij het uitpakken kan de beschermhoes er gekreukt uitzien. Om de kreuken te
laten verdwijnen, laat u het kussen 24 uur acclimatiseren (zie pagina 42 van
de probleemoplossingstabel voor meer informatie). Deze kreuken zijn niet van
invloed op het opblazen of de functie van het kussen; het kussen kan indien
nodig onmiddellijk worden gebruikt.
2. Controleer het kussen op scheuren en barsten; gebruik het matrasvervangend
ligsysteem niet als u scheuren of barsten aantreft.
3. Indien u het kussen in een nieuwe stoel wilt plaatsen of voor een nieuwe cliënt
wilt gebruiken, controleert u het op vuil en vlekken; reinig en/of desinfecteer
naar behoefte (zie pagina 41 van Onderhoud en reiniging).
4. Blokkeer de remmen van de rolstoel.
5. Verwijder het bestaande kussen uit de rolstoel.
6. Plaats het AtmosAir-zitkussen in de rolstoel en zorg er daarbij voor dat het kussen
met de goede kant naar voren is geplaatst. Zorg ervoor dat er aan beide zijden
van het kussen of aan de achterzijde geen ruimte zit. Zorg ervoor dat het kussen
goed op z’n plaats zit zodat dit niet kan verschuiven of wegglijden.

1. Controleer of de remmen zijn geblokkeerd.
2. Verplaats de cliënt volgens de veiligheidsregels en protocollen die in uw instelling
van toepassing zijn.

3. Wanneer de gewenste hoeveelheid lucht uit het kussen is gelopen,
zet u het ventiel van de handpomp weer in de vergrendelde stand.
4. Koppel de handpomp los, zoals beschreven in stap 4 hierboven.

Reinigen en onderhoud
Algemene instructies
Wanneer er zich bloed en/of lichaamsvloeistoffen op het kussen bevinden,
raadpleeg dan een zorgverlener voor het juiste gebruik van onderstaande
middelen tijdens de reiniging:
• vloeistofbestendige of waterdichte handschoenen
• schort of jas van kunststof
• oogbescherming
Wasprotocol voor beschermhoes en binnenvoering
Gebruik geen oplosmiddelen of alcohol.
1. Stel de wasmachine in op een hogere
temperatuur en gebruik het langste
wasprogramma en spoel na met koud water.
2. Spray eerst vlekkenverwijderaar op zwaar
bevuilde plekken.
3. Voeg een hoogwaardig, vloeibaar wasmiddel
toe in overeenstemming met de richtlijnen van
de fabrikant.
Gebruik uitsluitend reinigingsmiddelen. Voeg geen bleekmiddel toe aan het
water wanneer u de beschermhoes wast, tenzij dit wordt aanbevolen door een
arts. Raadpleeg uw arts in geval van specieke bezwaren met betrekking tot
infectiebeheersing. Voeg maximaal één kopje bleekmiddel toe aan het water
(1/2 oz / 1 4,78 ml per liter).
4. Laat de wasmachine eerst 2 minuten draaien voordat u de beschermhoes
erin doet.
5. Doe de vuile items in de wasmachine.
Zorg ervoor dat u niet te veel items in de wasmachine stopt. Doet u dit wel
dan worden de items mogelijk niet goed schoon.
6. Haal de items na de wasbeurt uit de wasmachine.
7. Laat het teveel aan water uit de beschermhoes lopen.
8. Doe de items in de droogtrommel. Drogen in de droogtrommel bij lage
temperaturen. Gebruik geen hoge temperaturen.

Reinigingsprocedure voor slangen en het SAT-systeem
De slangen en het SAT -systeem moeten worden gereinigd met een allesreiniger die
geschikt is voor kunststof. Neem de items na reiniging af met een schone en droge
doek. GEBRUIK GEEN OPLOSMIDDELEN OF REINIGINGSPRODUCTEN DIE
NIET GESCHIKT ZIJN VOOR KUNSTSTOF.

Preventief onderhoudsschema
Preventief onderhoud voor het AtmosAir-zitkussen bestaat uit het regelmatig reinigen van
het kussen en een algehele controle van het systeem die op onderstaande tijdstippen
moet worden uitgevoerd. Raadpleeg het gedeelte Onderhoud en reiniging van deze
handleiding voor was- en reinigingsinstructies.
Dagelijkse reiniging
De hoes moet dagelijks worden afgenomen met een reinigingsoplossing van milde zeep
en water.
Wekelijkse reiniging
De hoes en de eece binnenvoering moeten minstens één keer per week worden
gewassen, afhankelijk van hoe vuil ze zijn. De slangen en het SAT -systeem moeten
wekelijks worden schoongemaakt.
Inspectie/controle van het systeem
Controleer alle onderstaande punten voordat u het AtmosAir-zitkussen voor een nieuwe
cliënt gebruikt:
1. Controleer het kussen op scheuren en barsten; gebruik het matrasvervangend
ligsysteem niet als u scheuren of barsten aantreft.
2. Controleer of er geen vlekken op de beschermhoes zitten en of deze niet te
al te zeer verkleurd is.
Problemen verhelpen
Het wordt aanbevolen om alle gedeelten van deze handleiding door te nemen voordat
u problemen met een AtmosAir-zitkussen probeert op te lossen.
Probeer geen problemen op te lossen die niet in deze handleiding worden beschreven of
waarbij wordt aanbevolen om contact op te nemen met een servicevertegenwoordiger van
ArjoHuntleigh. Onderhoud door onbevoegden, aanpassing, wijziging of verkeerd gebruik
kan ernstig letsel en/of beschadiging van het product tot gevolg hebben en doet alle van
toepassing zijnde garanties teniet.

Garantie
5/2 jaar garantie (alleen van toepassing op modellen met een gestikte hoes):
Bij de aankoop van een AtmosAir -zitkussen (model met gestikte hoes) ontvangt de oorspronkelijke koper van het
AtmosAir -zitkussen, zolang alle van toepassing zijnde procedures** worden uitgevoerd, van ArjoHuntleigh, Inc.
(in dit document ‘ArjoHuntleigh’ genoemd) gedurende een periode van vijf (5) jaar vanaf de datum van aankoop
garantie tegen fabricagefouten (materiaal en/of werkmanschap) in het zitkussen.
Voorwaarden en beperkingen:
Onder deze garantie, indien tijdig aangegeven, vervangt of repareert ArjoHuntleigh defecte onderdelen of hele bedden
die onder deze garantie vallen naar eigen goeddunken. Retourneringen of vervangingen zijn alleen toegestaan met
toestemming van ArjoHuntleigh. Deze garantie is alleen van toepassing op materiaalkosten/kosten voor het vervangen
van onderdelen en arbeidskosten. Verzendkosten, administratiekosten en afvalverwijderingskosten zijn niet inbegrepen.
Deze garantie geldt niet voor de volgende items:
• Wegwerpartikelen, met inbegrip van, maar niet beperkt tot, niet-geïntegreerde hoeslakens en artikelen die worden
gebruikt in combinatie met het matras; of
• normale slijtage door gebruik; of
• schade, inclusief roestvorming, corrosie en het niet werken van het product door zaken waar ArjoHuntleigh geen
controle over heeft, zoals (maar niet beperkt tot) misbruik, diefstal, brand, overstroming, blikseminslag, bevriezing,
stroomuitval, verminderde stroomspanning, verstopping van matrasporiën als gevolg van sigarettenrook,
ongebruikelijke atmosferische omstandigheden, achteruitgang in de foamkwaliteit door blootstelling aan vocht,
of andere natuurrampen; of
• schade aan matrassen of handgrepen van matrassen door gebruik van het matras voor de transfer of het
vervoer van cliënten.
ArjoHuntleigh behoudt zich het recht voor om het materiaal van het product te wijzigen op basis van de beschikbaarheid
van grondstoffen van soortgelijke kwaliteit.
Onderhoud dat verdergaat dan beschreven in de Gebruikershandleiding moet worden uitgevoerd door ArjoHuntleigh
of door bedrijven die schriftelijk door ArjoHuntleigh zijn goedgekeurd.
Deze garantie is in de volgende gevallen ONGELDIG:
• als er geen bewijs van aankoop kan worden overhandigd door de oorspronkelijke koper;
• als er aanpassingen, wijzigingen, onderhoud en/of reparaties die niet in de gebruikershandleiding staan
beschreven door bedrijven die niet schriftelijk door ArjoHuntleigh zijn goedgekeurd, zijn uitgevoerd;
• als de elektrische installatie van de ruimte niet voldoet aan de van toepassing zijnde nationale normen voor
elektrische installaties;
• als het product niet wordt gebruikt volgens de instructies en waarschuwingen die in de gebruikershandleiding
nummersgewijs worden aangegeven.
Deze garantie mag op geen enkele manier worden beschouwd als uitbreiding op een door de partijen overeengekomen
periodieke of preventieve onderhoudsovereenkomst, uitgebreide serviceovereenkomst of in-serviceovereenkomst.

VOOR DE VERKOOPBAARHEID OF GESCHIKTHEID VOOR EEN BEPAALD DOEL. ArjoHuntleigh KAN NIET
AANSPRAKELIJK WORDEN GEHOUDEN VOOR GEVOLGSCHADE OF INCIDENTELE SCHADE EN DAARUIT
VOORTVLOEIENDE KOSTEN, MET INBEGRIP VAN SCHADE OF LETSEL TOEGEBRACHT AAN PERSONEN OF
EIGENDOMMEN, GEHEEL OF GEDEELTELIJK HET GEVOLG VAN HET GEBRUIK VAN HET PRODUCT, TENZIJ
ANDERSZINS WETTELIJK VEREIST.
**Van toepassing zijnde procedures zijn, zonder enige beperking, de procedures die in de meegeleverde
gebruikershandleiding worden uiteengezet, en andere door ArjoHuntleigh aangeduide richtlijnen en procedures.
OPMERKING: mocht een gedeelte van deze garantie volgens wetgeving van de nationale of lokale overheid niet geldig
zijn, dan is dit niet van invloed op de geldigheid van de resterende gedeelten van deze garantieovereenkomst; de
partijen bevestigen bovendien hun intentie dat een dergelijke bepaling (of een gedeelte ervan) zo zal worden uitgelegd
dat de doeleinden van de desbetreffende bepalingen alsnog volgens de van toepassing zijnde wet kunnen worden
bereikt. Deze garantie biedt u specieke wettelijke rechten. Mogelijk hebt u ook andere rechten. Deze verschillen
van regio tot regio.

Introduction
Il est recommandé de prendre connaissance de toutes les sections de ce guide de
l’utilisateur avant d’utiliser le produit. Lire attentivement les sections Indications, risques
et précautions et Informations relatives à la sécurité avant d’installer un patient sur
un coussin de siège AtmosAir™ 300 ou 300P avec technologie de réglage automatique
SAT™ (Self Adjusting Technology™).
Le personnel soignant doit expliquer au patient (ou à ses tuteurs légaux) et à sa famille,
les informations relatives à la sécurité, les risques et précautions, ainsi que les
contre-indications.
Le coussin de siège AtmosAir intègre un système unique et dynamique de redistribution
de la pression et utilise la pression atmosphérique et la gravité comme sources d’énergie.
Il est composé de trois cellules SAT brevetées. Ces cellules permettent une gestion
dynamique de la pression à l’aide d’un système de tubulures et de valves de réduction de
pression préréglées. Le coussin s’adapte automatiquement aux changements d’élévation
et de température ainsi qu’aux mouvements du patient.
Le modèle 300P inclut un système de positionnement intégré doté d’une pompe à air
à commande manuelle permettant d’ajuster le coussin pour compenser l’obliquité
du bassin.

Risques et précautions
Transfert - Il convient de prendre des précautions élémentaires lors du transfert
d’un patient.
Déplacement du patient - Les supports spécialisés présentent des caractéristiques
de cisaillement et de soutien différentes des supports conventionnels et peuvent
accroître le risque de déplacement, d’affaissement et/ou de glissement du patient
dans une position dangereuse avec possibilité de piégeage et/ou de chute accidentelle.
Surveiller fréquemment les patients pour éviter le risque de piégeage.

Consignes de sécurité
Taille du coussin - Toujours choisir un coussin dont la taille correspond aux dimensions
du fauteuil roulant et s’assurer qu’il est orienté dans le bon sens et correctement xé.
Mise au rebut - À la n de la durée de vie utile, procéder à la mise au rebut conformément
aux exigences locales.
Protocoles généraux
• Des perforations, coupures ou déchirures peuvent affecter le fonctionnement
du système. Éviter tout contact du coussin de siège AtmosAir 300 et 300P avec
technologie SAT avec des objets tranchants.
• Observer tous les règlements et protocoles de sécurité en vigueur dans
l’établissement an d’assurer la sécurité du patient et du personnel soignant.
Poids patient - Le poids maximum du patient pour ce dispositif est de 227 kg (500 lb).
Consulter également les caractéristiques du fauteuil utilisé. Des limitations de poids
supplémentaires peuvent s’appliquer.
Soins cutanés - Surveiller périodiquement l’état de la peau du patient et envisager des
traitements d’appoint ou alternatifs en cas de risque élevé. Porter une attention particulière
à tout point de pression possible et aux endroits où de l’humidité ou de l’incontinence
pourrait survenir ou s’accumuler. Une intervention précoce peut être essentielle
à la prévention de lésions cutanées.

Installation du coussin de siège
AtmosAir 300/300P
1. Sortir le coussin de siège AtmosAir de l’emballage plastique.
Lorsque la housse de protection du coussin est déballée, elle peut être froissée.
Pour la défroisser, laisser le coussin sans l’utiliser pendant 24 heures. Pour plus
d’informations, se reporter au tableau Dépannage, page 60. Les plis de la housse
n’affectent pas le gonage ou le fonctionnement du coussin. De ce fait, le coussin
peut être utilisé immédiatement, si nécessaire.
2. Vérier que la surface du coussin n’est pas déchirée ou craquée. Dans le cas
contraire, le système ne doit pas être utilisé.
3. Si le coussin est réinstallé sur un nouveau fauteuil ou pour un nouveau patient,
vérier que sa surface n’est pas tachée ou souillée. La nettoyer et/ou la désinfecter si nécessaire (se reporter à la section Entretien et nettoyage, page 59).
4. Verrouiller les freins du fauteuil roulant.
5. Retirer tout autre coussin du fauteuil roulant.
6. Placer le coussin de siège AtmosAir sur le fauteuil roulant en s’assurant
qu’il est correctement orienté. Vérier qu’il n’y a aucun espace entre le coussin,
le dossier et les côtés du fauteuil. Vérier que le coussin est correctement xé
pour empêcher le patient de glisser.
Transfert du patient sur le coussin de siège
AtmosAir 300/300P
1. Vérier que tous les freins sont verrouillés.
2. Transférer le patient en observant l’ensemble des règles de sécurité et protocoles
de l’établissement en vigueur.

Ajustement du positionnement du coussin
(modèle 300P)
Le coussin de siège se divise en trois sections qui peuvent être gonées séparément
ou de façon combinée : la section fesse/cuisse gauche, la section fesse/cuisse droite
et la section avant du coussin.

1. Connecter la pompe manuelle au tube de
la section souhaitée en enfonçant fermement
le connecteur de la pompe dans le connecteur
du tube. Un déclic se fait entendre lorsque la

2. Tourner la valve de la pompe manuelle dans le sens antihoraire en position
de déverrouillage.
3. Une fois le dégonage souhaité obtenu, replacer la valve de la pompe manuelle
en position de verrouillage.
4. Déconnecter la pompe manuelle conformément à l’étape 4 décrite ci-dessus.

Entretien et nettoyage
Recommandations générales
En présence de sang et/ou de liquides physiologiques, consulter un professionnel
de santé pour utiliser correctement les articles suivants pendant les procédures
de nettoyage :
• Gants imperméables ou étanches
• Tablier ou blouse en plastique
• Lunettes de protection
Procédure de lavage pour la housse de protection
et la garniture intérieure du coussin
Ne pas utiliser de solvants ou d’alcool.
1. Programmer la machine sur le cycle de lavage
à température tiède le plus long, avec rinçage
à froid.
2. Vaporiser les endroits fortement souillés avec
un produit détachant de prélavage.
3. Ajouter une dose de détergent liquide de haute
qualité, selon les directives du fabricant.
N’utiliser que du détergent. Ne pas ajouter de javel à l’eau de lavage pour le
nettoyage de la housse de protection du coussin, sauf recommandation contraire
d’un médecin. Consulter votre médecin en cas de doutes spéciques concernant
le contrôle des infections. Ajouter une tasse de javel (maximum) à l’eau de lavage
(14,78 ml par litre ou 1/2 oz par gallon).
4. Laisser la machine tourner pendant deux minutes avant d’ajouter la housse
de protection du coussin.
5. Ajouter les articles souillés dans la machine.
Ne pas surcharger la machine. Dépasser la capacité de la machine pourrait
empêcher un nettoyage adéquat.
6. Sortir les articles de la machine à la n du cycle complet.
7. Essorer la housse de protection du coussin.
8. Mettre les articles dans le sèche-linge. Sécher dans le sèche-linge réglé sur
une température tiède. Ne pas utiliser de températures trop élevées.

Procédure de nettoyage pour les tuyaux et le système SAT
Il convient de nettoyer les tuyaux et le système SAT à l’aide d’une solution détergente tout
usage adaptée aux surfaces en plastique. Après le nettoyage, essuyer à l’aide d’un chiffon
propre et sec. NE PAS UTILISER DE SOLVANTS OU DE PRODUITS NON ADAPTÉS
AU NETTOYAGE DES PRODUITS EN PLASTIQUE.

Programme de maintenance préventive
La maintenance préventive consiste à nettoyer régulièrement le coussin de siège
AtmosAir et à vérier l’ensemble du système aux intervalles décrits ci-dessous.
Consulter la section Entretien et nettoyage de ce guide pour connaître les procédures
de blanchissage et de nettoyage.
Nettoyage quotidien
La housse de protection doit être nettoyée tous les jours avec une solution savonneuse
douce.
Nettoyage hebdomadaire
Il convient de laver la housse de protection et la garniture intérieure molletonnée au moins
une fois par semaine, selon l’état de salissure. Il convient de nettoyer les tuyaux et le
système SAT chaque semaine.
Inspection/vérication du système
Vérier chacun des éléments suivants avant d’installer un nouveau patient sur le coussin
de siège AtmosAir :
1. Vérier que la surface du coussin n’est pas déchirée ou craquée. Dans le cas
contraire, le système ne doit pas être utilisé.
2. S’assurer que la housse de protection du coussin n’est ni tachée ni délavée.
Dépistage des anomalies
Il est recommandé de lire toutes les sections de ce guide avant de dépanner le coussin
de siège AtmosAir.
Ne rien tenter si le problème n’est pas décrit dans ce guide ou nécessite de faire appel
à un représentant ArjoHuntleigh. Toute maintenance, modication ou utilisation non
autorisée risquerait de causer des dommages corporels et/ou matériels graves et
annulerait les garanties applicables.

Garantie 5/2 années (applicable aux modèles à housse cousue uniquement) :
Conjointement à l’achat d’un coussin de siège AtmosAir (modèle à housse cousue), ArjoHuntleigh, Inc. (désignée par
« ArjoHuntleigh » dans le présent document) garantit, à l’acheteur initial, son coussin de siège AtmosAir contre les vices
matériels et/ou de fabrication du fabricant pendant une période de cinq (5) années à compter de la date d’achat du
coussin de siège et ce, tant que les procédures** en vigueur sont respectées.
Conditions et restrictions :
En vertu de cette garantie, et si l’utilisateur fait valoir ses droits de manière raisonnable, ArjoHuntleigh remplacera ou
réparera, à sa seule discrétion, les pièces défectueuses ou les unités complètes encore sous garantie. Aucun retour ou
remplacement ne sera accepté sans autorisation préalable écrite d’ArjoHuntleigh. Cette garantie couvre uniquement les
coûts de remplacement des matériaux et/ou des pièces et les coûts de main-d’œuvre, et exclut tout frais d’expédition et
de manutention et tout frais de mise au rebut.
Cette garantie ne s’applique pas à et ne couvre pas :
• les articles portés par le patient, notamment, les draps de protection non intégrés et les articles jetables utilisés
conjointement au matelas ;
• l’usure normale, y compris les déchirures ;
• les dommages, y compris la rouille, la corrosion ou la défaillance du produit due à des causes indépendantes
de la volonté d’ArjoHuntleigh, telles que notamment l’usage abusif, le vol, les incendies, les inondations, le vent,
la foudre, le gel, les pannes de courant, les baisses de tension, le colmatage des pores du coussin provoqué
par la fumée du tabac, les conditions atmosphériques inhabituelles, la détérioration de la mousse suite à une
exposition à l’humidité ou d’autres cas de force majeure ;
• les dommages occasionnés au matelas ou à ses poignées suite à son utilisation pour le transfert ou le transport
d’un patient.
ArjoHuntleigh se réserve le droit de procéder à des modications importantes du produit en fonction de la disponibilité
des matières premières de qualité comparable.
L’entretien au-delà de celui décrit dans le guide de l’utilisateur doit être effectué par ArjoHuntleigh ou par des personnes
ou des sociétés approuvées par écrit par ArjoHuntleigh.
Cette garantie est ANNULÉE si :
• l’acheteur d’origine ne peut pas produire la preuve d’achat ;
• des réglages, modications, interventions de maintenance et/ou réparations au-delà de ceux décrits dans
le manuel d’utilisation ont été effectués par des personnes ou des sociétés non habilitées par écrit par
ArjoHuntleigh ;
• l’installation électrique de la salle n’est pas conforme aux normes nationales appropriées de câblage électrique ;
• l’équipement n’est pas utilisé conformément aux instructions et mises en garde mentionnées dans le manuel
d’utilisation.
Cette garantie ne doit, en aucun cas, être interprétée comme une prolongation d’un contrat de maintenance périodique
ou préventive, un contrat d’entretien prolongé ou un contrat permanent conclu entre les parties.

Introduzione
Prima di utilizzare il prodotto, si raccomanda di leggere attentamente tutte le sezioni della
guida dell’utente. Prima di posizionare un paziente su un cuscino di seduta AtmosAir™ 300
e 300P con tecnologia SAT™ (Self-Adjusting Technology™), leggere attentamente
le sezioni Indicazioni, Rischi e precauzioni e Informazioni sulla sicurezza.
Gli operatori sanitari devono informare il paziente (o i tutori legali del paziente) e la sua
famiglia di tutti i problemi legati alla sicurezza, degli eventuali rischi e relative precauzioni
e delle controindicazioni legati all’utilizzo del prodotto.
Il cuscino di seduta AtmosAir è un sistema esclusivo di ridistribuzione della pressione
dinamica che utilizza come fonte di energia la gravità e la pressione atmosferica. Ciascun
cuscino contiene al suo interno tre celle brevettate SAT . Queste celle gestiscono la
pressione dinamica attraverso un sistema di collettori e valvole di regolazione della
pressione preimpostata. Il cuscino si regola automaticamente in base alle variazioni
di sollevamento/temperatura e ai movimenti del paziente.
Il modello 300P include un’opzione di posizionamento integrata, che utilizza una pompa
d’aria manuale per regolare il cuscino in base alle obliquità pelviche caratteristiche
del paziente.

Rischi e precauzioni
Trasferimento - Adottare le precauzioni del caso durante il trasferimento del paziente.
Slittamento del paziente - Le superci speciali presentano caratteristiche di frizione e
supporto diverse da quelle convenzionali e possono aumentare il rischio di spostamento,
affossamento e/o slittamento del paziente in posizioni pericolose che potrebbero causare
intrappolamento e/o cadute accidentali. Controllare di frequente i pazienti per prevenirne
l’intrappolamento.

Informazioni sulla sicurezza
Dimensioni del cuscino - Utilizzare sempre un cuscino con dimensioni conformi all’area
di seduta della sedia a rotelle e assicurarsi che lo stesso sia nella posizione corretta
e adeguatamente ssato.
Smaltimento - Al termine della vita utile del prodotto, smaltirlo in conformità alle norme
locali vigenti.
Protocolli generali
• La presenza di forature, tagli e lacerazioni impedisce il corretto funzionamento del
prodotto. Evitare che oggetti appuntiti vengano a contatto con il cuscino di seduta
AtmosAir 300 e 300P con tecnologia SAT.
• Attenersi a tutte le norme di sicurezza e ai protocolli dell’istituto in materia di sicurezza
del paziente e del personale sanitario.
Peso del paziente - Il peso massimo consigliato per il paziente è di 227 kg (500 lb).
Si consiglia di consultare anche le speciche relative alla sedia da utilizzare. È possibile
che presentino ulteriori limitazioni di peso.
Cura della cute - Monitorare regolarmente le condizioni della cute e prendere in
considerazione l’uso di terapie aggiuntive o alternative per i pazienti acuti. Prestare
particolare attenzione ai punti della cute soggetti a pressione e in cui possono prodursi
o accumularsi umidità o perdite da incontinenza. Un intervento tempestivo può essere
fondamentale per prevenire le lesioni cutanee.

Assemblaggio del cuscino di seduta
AtmosAir 300/300P
1. Rimuovere il telo di protezione in plastica dal cuscino di seduta AtmosAir.
Dopo averlo tolto dalla relativa confezione, è possibile che il rivestimento
del cuscino presenti delle pieghe. Per appianare le pieghe, consentire
l’acclimatamento del cuscino per 24 ore; per ulteriori informazioni, consultare la
sezione Risoluzione dei problemi a pagina 78. La presenza di pieghe non inuisce
in alcun modo sull’operazione di gonaggio o sulle funzioni del cuscino; pertanto,
se necessario, è possibile utilizzarlo immediatamente.
2. Assicurarsi che sulla supercie del cuscino non siano presenti fori o fessure;
nel caso, non utilizzarlo.
3. Se il cuscino viene utilizzato su un’altra sedia o per un nuovo paziente, assicurarsi
che sulla supercie non siano presenti macchie o tracce di sporco; pulire e o
disinfettare secondo necessità (fare riferimento alla sezione Manutenzione
e pulizia a pagina 77).
4. Bloccare i freni della sedia a rotelle.
5. Rimuovere eventuali cuscini presenti sulla sedia a rotelle.
6. Sistemare il cuscino di seduta AtmosAir sulla sedia a rotelle assicurandosi che
sia orientato correttamente. Vericare che non siano presenti spazi vuoti ai lati
e dietro il cuscino. Vericare che il cuscino sia adeguatamente ssato per
evitare che si sposti o scivoli.
Trasferimento del paziente sul cuscino
di seduta AtmosAir 300/300P
1. Accertarsi che tutti i freni siano bloccati.
2. Trasferire il paziente attenendosi alle norme di sicurezza vigenti e ai
protocolli dell’istituto.

Regolazione della posizione del cuscino
(modello 300P)
Il cuscino è composto da tre sezioni che possono essere gonate separatamente e in base
a combinazioni diverse. Si tratta delle sezioni in corrispondenza di natica/coscia sinistra,
natica/coscia destra e parte anteriore.

la posizione di sbloccaggio.
3. Una volta raggiunto il livello di sgonaggio desiderato, riportare la valvola
della pompa manuale nella posizione di bloccaggio.
4. Staccare la pompa manuale procedendo come descritto poco sopra nel
passaggio 4.

Manutenzione e pulizia
Istruzioni generali
In presenza di sangue e/o di uidi corporei, consultare il personale sanitario
per istruzioni su come utilizzare in modo corretto e durante l’intera procedura
di pulizia i dispositivi indicati di seguito:
• Guanti impermeabili
• Grembiule o camice in plastica
• Occhiali di protezione
Procedure di lavaggio del rivestimento e dello strato interno
del cuscino
Non utilizzare solventi o alcol.
1. Impostare la lavatrice sul programma a caldo
utilizzando il ciclo di lavaggio più lungo e il
risciacquo in acqua fredda.
2. Prima del lavaggio, applicare sulle zone
particolarmente sporche, uno spray speciale
anti-macchia.
3. Aggiungere detergente liquido di buona qualità
nelle quantità raccomandate dal produttore.
Utilizzare esclusivamente detergente. Non aggiungere candeggina all’acqua
durante il lavaggio del rivestimento, se non diversamente disposto dal medico.
In presenza di dubbi relativi alle procedure di controllo delle infezioni, consultare
il proprio medico. Aggiungere un volume massimo di un bicchiere di candeggina
all’acqua di lavaggio (14,78 ml/litro - 1/2 oz/gallone).
4. Attivare la centrifuga nella lavatrice per due minuti prima di procedere al lavaggio
del rivestimento.
5. Inserire il carico sporco in lavatrice.
Non sovraccaricare la lavatrice. Un carico eccessivo potrebbe impedire il lavaggio
accurato.
6. Al completamento del ciclo, rimuovere il carico dalla lavatrice.
7. Eliminare l’acqua in eccesso dal rivestimento.
8. Collocare il carico nell’asciugatrice. Centrifugare a bassa temperatura.
Evitare di impostare temperature elevate.

Operazioni di pulizia per tubi e sistema SAT
I tubi e il sistema SAT devono essere puliti utilizzando un detergente generico domestico
adatto alla plastica. Dopo la pulizia, asciugare con un panno pulito e asciutto.

Programma di manutenzione preventiva
La manutenzione preventiva del cuscino di seduta AtmosAir prevede la pulizia regolare
e il controllo approfondito del sistema da effettuare periodicamente come descritto
di seguito. Per informazioni relative a lavaggio e pulizia, fare riferimento alla sezione
Manutenzione e pulizia della presente guida.
Pulizia giornaliera
Il rivestimento deve essere pulito su base giornaliera con sapone neutro e acqua.
Pulizia settimanale
Il rivestimento e la fodera interna felpata devono essere lavati almeno una volta
a settimana, secondo necessità. I tubi dell’aria e il sistema SAT devono essere puliti
ogni settimana.
Ispezione/Verica del sistema
Prima di utilizzare il cuscino di seduta AtmosAir con un nuovo paziente eseguire
i seguenti controlli:
1. Assicurarsi che sulla supercie del cuscino non siano presenti fori o fessure;
nel caso, non utilizzarlo.
2. Vericare che il rivestimento del cuscino non sia macchiato o eccessivamente
scolorito.
Risoluzione dei problemi
Prima di cercare di risolvere eventuali problemi riscontrati con il cuscino di seduta
AtmosAir, leggere attentamente tutte le sezioni del presente manuale.
Attenersi esclusivamente alla seguente guida per risolvere eventuali problemi riscontrati
e non attuare alcun tipo di intervento laddove si consiglia di rivolgersi a un responsabile
dell’assistenza tecnica ArjoHuntleigh. Interventi, modiche, alterazioni non autorizzati o
un utilizzo improprio del dispositivo possono causare lesioni gravi e/o danni allo strumento
rendendo nulla la garanzia.

Garanzia
Garanzia 5/2 anni (applicabile solo ai modelli con rivestimento cucito)
In relazione all’acquisto effettuato del cuscino di seduta AtmosAir (solo il modello con rivestimento cucito), ArjoHuntleigh,
Inc. (di seguito “ArjoHuntleigh”) garantisce all’acquirente originale che il cuscino di seduta AtmosAir è esente da difetti
di produzione dei materiali e/o di lavorazione; la garanzia è valida per un periodo di cinque (5) anni a partire dalla data
di acquisto del cuscino di seduta e purché vengano osservate tutte le procedure applicabili.**
Condizioni e limitazioni
Nei limiti della suddetta garanzia, con ragionevole preavviso, ArjoHuntleigh si impegna, a sua unica discrezione,
a sostituire o riparare eventuali parti o intere unità difettose coperte dalla garanzia. Senza l’autorizzazione di
ArjoHuntleigh non sono consentite restituzioni o sostituzioni. La presente garanzia è applicabile esclusivamente
ai costi di sostituzione di materiali/parti e ai costi di manodopera e non include la copertura dei costi di spedizione
e movimentazione, né le spese di smaltimento.
La garanzia non si estende a, né copre, quanto indicato di seguito:
• Accessori di ricambio del paziente, quali, a titolo esemplicativo ma non esaustivo, teli di rivestimento non integrati
e materiali monouso, utilizzati con il materasso; o
• Normale usura; o
• Danni, inclusi ruggine, corrosione o malfunzionamenti del prodotto causati da eventi non controllabili da
ArjoHuntleigh, quali, a titolo esemplicativo ma non esaustivo, errato utilizzo, furto, incendio, inondazione, bufera,
fulmini, congelamenti, interruzione dell’alimentazione, riduzione di potenza, otturazione dei pori del materasso
causata dal fumo di tabacco, condizioni atmosferiche insolite, deterioramento della schiuma dovuto a esposizione
all’umidità o altre cause di forza maggiore; o
• Danni al materasso o alle maniglie durante l’utilizzo del materasso per il trasferimento o il trasporto del paziente.
ArjoHuntleigh si riserva il diritto di apportare modiche sostanziali al prodotto predeterminato in base alla disponibilità
di materie prime di pari qualità.
Qualsiasi intervento di assistenza diverso da quelli descritti nel manuale utente deve essere effettuato da ArjoHuntleigh
o da altre società autorizzate per iscritto da ArjoHuntleigh.
La presente garanzia è PRIVA DI VALIDITÀ qualora:
• L’acquirente originale non sia in grado di presentare una prova di acquisto
• Eventuali operazioni di regolazione, modica, manutenzione e/o riparazione diverse da quelle descritte nel
manuale utente, vengano effettuate da società non autorizzate per iscritto da ArjoHuntleigh
• Gli impianti elettrici dei locali utilizzati non siano conformi alle norme nazionali vigenti in materia
• L’attrezzatura non sia utilizzata in conformità alle istruzioni e alle note di avvertenza contenute nel
presente manuale
La presente garanzia non potrà essere interpretata in alcun modo come estensione di eventuali contratti
di manutenzione periodica o preventiva, come estensione del contratto di assistenza o come contratto in-service
concluso tra le parti.

ESSERE CONSIDERATA RESPONSABILE PER EVENTUALI SPESE E DANNI ACCIDENTALI O SECONDARI,
IVI INCLUSI DANNI A PERSONE O BENI, CAUSATI INTERAMENTE O IN PARTE DA UN USO DEL PRODOTTO
DIVERSO DA QUANTO CONCORDATO O PREVISTO PER LEGGE.

Se recomienda leer todas las secciones de esta guía antes de utilizar el producto.
Lea atentamente las Indicaciones, los Riesgos y las Precauciones, así como la
Información sobre seguridad antes de sentar a un paciente en un Cojín AtmosAir™ 300
o 300P con tecnología SAT™ (Self Adjusting Technology™, por sus siglas en inglés).
Los cuidadores deberán explicar la Información de seguridad, los Riesgos, las
Precauciones y las Contraindicaciones al paciente (o a los tutores legales del paciente)
y a sus familiares.
El Cojín AtmosAir es un sistema único con desplazamiento dinámico de la presión que
utiliza como fuente de energía la presión atmosférica y la gravedad. Dentro de cada cojín
se incluyen tres celdas con tecnología SAT patentada que gestionan la presión dinámica
mediante un sistema de colectores y válvulas de alivio de la presión preconguradas.
De este modo, el cojín se vuelve a congurar automáticamente por sí mismo para
acomodarse a los cambios de elevación o temperatura y a los movimientos del paciente.
El modelo 300P incluye una opción de posicionamiento integrado que utiliza una bomba
neumática de accionamiento manual para ajustar el cojín de modo que compense las
oblicuidades pélvicas.

Riesgos y precauciones
Traslado: deberán tomarse las precauciones habituales durante el traslado del paciente.
Desplazamiento del paciente: las supercies especializadas tienen características de
rotura y soporte diferentes a las de las supercies convencionales y pueden aumentar el
riesgo de movimiento, hundimiento o desplazamiento del paciente a posiciones peligrosas
de atrapamiento o caída inadvertida. Vigile a los pacientes a menudo para evitar
atrapamientos.

Información sobre seguridad
Tamaño del cojín: elija siempre el cojín del tamaño adecuado para el asiento de
la silla de ruedas y asegúrese de que está colocado en la posición correcta
y adecuadamente sujeto.
Eliminación: al nal de su vida útil, deseche los residuos de acuerdo con los requisitos
locales.
Protocolos generales
• Cualquier perforación, corte o rasgado evitará que el funcionamiento sea correcto.
Evite el contacto del Cojín AtmosAir 300 o 300P con SAT con instrumentos cortantes.
• Siga todas las reglas sobre seguridad y los protocolos del centro aplicables en
relación con la seguridad de los pacientes y de los cuidadores.
Peso del paciente: el peso máximo del paciente que soporta este dispositivo es de
227 kg (500 lb). Consulte también las especicaciones de la silla utilizada. Pueden existir
otras limitaciones de peso.
Cuidados de la piel: vigile las afecciones de la piel de forma regular y considere la
posibilidad de aplicar tratamientos complementarios o alternativos en los pacientes muy
agudos. Preste especial atención a cualquier otro posible punto de presión y a las zonas
en la que pueda producirse incontinencia y generarse o acumularse humedad. Una
intervención precoz puede ser esencial para prevenir el deterioro de la integridad cutánea.

Instalación del Cojín AtmosAir 300/300P
1. Saque el Cojín AtmosAir de la bolsa protectora de plástico.
La funda del cojín podría estar arrugada al desembalarla. Para eliminar las
arrugas, deje que transcurran 24 horas para que el cojín se aclimate. consulte
la tabla Solución de problemas de la página 96 para obtener más información.
Las arrugas no afectan al inado ni a la funcionalidad del cojín, por lo que puede
utilizarse inmediatamente en caso necesario.
2. Examine la supercie del cojín para comprobar si presenta desgarros o grietas.
no lo utilice si detecta estos defectos.
3. Si está reinstalando el cojín en una silla nueva o para otro paciente distinto,
examine la supercie del cojín para comprobar que no presenta manchas ni
suciedad; límpielo y desinféctelo si es necesario (consulte la sección Cuidados
y limpieza en la página 95).
4. Bloquee los frenos de la silla de ruedas.
5. Retire cualquier otro cojín que haya en la silla de ruedas.
6. Coloque el Cojín AtmosAir en la silla de ruedas asegurándose de que está
orientado correctamente. Compruebe que no quedan resquicios a los lados
o detrás del cojín. Asegúrese de que el cojín está bien sujeto para evitar
deslizamientos o desplazamientos.
Transferencia del paciente al Cojín

1. Compruebe que los frenos están accionados.
2. Transera al paciente siguiendo todas las reglas de seguridad y protocolos
aplicables del centro.

El cojín contiene tres secciones que se pueden inar por separado o en cualquier
combinación. Las tres secciones son las correspondientes al área del muslo/nalga
izquierdos, el área del muslo/nalga derechos y el área frontal del cojín.

del reloj hasta colocarla en la posición de desbloqueo.
3. Una vez logrado el desinado deseado, vuelva a colocar la válvula de la bomba
manual en la posición de bloqueo.
4. Desconecte la bomba manual como se describe en el paso 4 anterior.
