Engineered to outperform demanding expectations, Canon’s XF305

and XF300 are impressive, professional tapeless HD camcorders

that feature a Genuine Canon 18x L-Series lens which works together

with three Canon-developed-and-designed native 1920 x 1080 CMOS image sensors and the

advanced Canon XF Codec to capture and record exceptional MPEG-2 4:2:2 50Mbps 1920 x

1080 video to universally available Compact Flash (CF) cards. The XF305 and XF300 camcorders’

advanced Canon XF Codec also provides full

compatibility with today’s leading nonlinear

editing systems for efficient digital

production workflows, as well as 4:2:2

color space for extreme color detail for

accurate chroma-keying, color-grading and

digital compositing. The XF305 features

industry-standard HD-SDI output, genlock,

and SMPTE time code (in/out) terminals for

broadcast and multi-camera productions,

plus a unique 3D Assist Function that allows

two units to be easily set up for 3D HD video.

18x HD L-Series Lens

Inspired by the same high level of optical precision used in Canon’s
professional broadcast and photographic lenses, the Canon XF305 and
XF300 Professional Tapeless HD Camcorders incorporate a Genuine
Canon 18x HD L-Series lens that features a wide and impressive zoom
range of 29.3 – 527.4mm (35mm equivalent), and Canon’s SuperRange
Optical Image Stabilization. The lens incorporates High Index – Ultra­Low Dispersion (HI-UD) and aspherical elements to minimize chromatic
aberration while delivering a resolution of 1,000 TV lines. For pulling
focus, this outstanding lens also includes a Full Manual Focus Mode
with Mechanical Hard Stops and focus distance markers for easy and
repeatable results.
