Black Burst Generators

Introduction

Burst Electronics manufactures a series of NTSC
(and PAL) Black Burst, Sync and Tone
generators. Models are available that range from
single output Black Burst (SG -2) up to five output
Black Burst (SG-5).

SG-2 1 Video Y/C, PAL
SG-4 4 Video, 1 Tone Y/C, PAL

SG-5 5 Video Y/C, PAL, Tone

Single Output Black Burst Generator

The SG -2 Black Burst Generator is a single
output unit. The output, which contains composite
sync, color
burst and 7.5
IRE setup (0
IRE in PAL) is
a standard 1
Volt video
signal. The
SG-2 is used
to drive Genlock inputs, laydown “black” on tape,
or feed a video DA to distribute house black.

Multi-Output B/B & 4V Sync Generator

The SG -4 Black
Burst Generator
has 4 stable black
burst outputs
suitable to drive
Genlock inputs of
the equipment in
an edit suite.
These is also a 1
kHz tone output.
Each output is
jumper selectable as either black burst of 4 Volt
Sync.

The SG -5 Black
Burst Generator
has 5 black burst
outputs. 1 kHz
tone is an optional
addition.
The SG -4 and
SG-5 can be rack
mounted into any
of the following
rack mounts; RM­4, RM -334, or
RM-344
