II. Inspection

a. Your RG333 unit was carefully inspected and certified by our Quality

Assurance Team before shipping. If any signific ant damage has
occurred during shipping, please not ify Global Water Instrumentation,
Inc. and file a claim with the carrier inv olv ed.

Use the checklist to ensure that you hav e r ec eived every thing needed
to operate the RG333.

III. Auto-Drain Rain Gauge Installation

a. The Auto-Drain Rain Gauge requires a clear an unobstructed

mounting location to obtain accurate r ainfall readings. There are two
holes drilled through the backing plate t hat may be used to mount the
Rain Gauge to a post.

IV. Auto-Drain Rain Gauge Set Up and Use

a. The Hours knob can be used to change how often the rain gauge

empties. Set the knob to your specific applicat ion. (Usually 24 hours)

b. The Functions knob has 3 settings:

1. Off: When not in use

2. Drain: Manually Empty

3. Auto: Drains per the Hours settings

c. Once the Hours and Function knobs hav e been set, verify the RG333

is mounted vertically, and there is no obst r uc tion above the opening.

V. Maintenance

a. The funnel and Auto-Drain Rain Gauge mechanism should be cleaned

periodically. An accumulation of dirt , bugs, etc. in the Auto-Drain Rain
Gauge funnel will adversely affec t t he r eadings . If necessary use a
bristle brush and flush with fresh water.

b. Replace the unit’s batteries annually. The Rain Gauge comes with two

AA size alkaline batteries. To access t he batteries, unscrew the
Phillips head screw, located at the bot tom of the unit. Remove cover
and replace batteries.

WARNING: Removing the batteries will reset the Rain G auge’s A uto
function.

VI. Trouble Shooting

a. Repeat set up procedure.
b. Check battery voltage.

Be prepared to describe the problem you are experiencing including
specific details of the application and installation and any additional
pertinent information.

d. In the event that the equipment needs to be returned to the factory for

any reason, please call to obtain a RMA # (Return Material
Authorization). Do not return items without a RMA # displayed on the
outside of the package.

Clean and decontaminate the RG 333 w hen necessar y .
Include a written statement describing the problems.
Send the package with shipping prepaid to our factory address. Insure

your shipment, as the warranty does not c ov er damage incur r ed dur ing
transit.

e. When calling for tech support, please have the following information

ready;

1. Model #.

2. Unit serial number.

3. P.O.# the equipment was purchased on.

4. Our sales number or the invoice number.

5. Repair instructions and/or specific problems relating to the
product.

VII. Warranty

a. Global Water Instrumentation, Inc. warrants that its produc ts are free

from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and
service for a period of one year from date of shipment from factory.
Global Water’s obligations under this w ar r anty are limited to, at Global
Water’s option: (I) replacing or (II) repairing; any products determined
to be defective. In no case shall Global Water ’s liability exceed the
products original purchase price. This w ar r anty does not apply to any
equipment that has been repaired or altered, ex c ept by Global Water
Instrumentation, Inc., or which has been s ubjec t to misuse, negligence
or accident. It is expressly agreed that this warranty will be in lieu of
all warranties of fitness and in lieu of the warr anty of merchantability.

b. The warranty begins on the date of your invoice.
