II. Inspection

a. Your SP200 unit was carefully inspected and c er tified by our Quality

Assurance Team before shipping. If any damage has occurred during
shipping, please notify Global W ater Instrumentation, Inc. and file a
claim with the carrier involved.

Use the checklist to ensure that you hav e r ec eived every thing needed
to operate the SP200.

III. Description

a. The Global Variable Speed Portable Sample Pump, SP200, is

designed specifically for the user that needs to take samples in areas
where it is not reasonable to have a permanent sampler. The sampler
has a speed adjustment knob that allows the user to determine what
the sampling rate is. The pump is also reversible, s o the pickup hose
can be purged prior to moving the pump or taking the nex t sample.

b. The Global Variable Speed Portable Sample Pum p c ons is ts of a

rugged, water resistant, lockable car r y ing enc losure. The enclosure
contains an external peristaltic s am pling pum p, a 15’ pickup hose with
strainer, and a 10’ battery cable.

IV. Using the Variable Speed Portable Sam ple Pump

Pick up hose set up

a. The pickup strainer should be submerged unde r water and should be

situated to avoid contact with the bott om.

Sampling unit

b. The sampler should be placed upright.
c. Secur e the battery cable to the battery connector on the enclosur e’s

front panel.

d. Ensure the toggle switch is in the off position. Attach the battery

cable’s leads to a 12V battery.
e. Place the sample bottle under the output spout.
f. Push the toggle switch into the forwar d pos ition to begin pumping.

Adjust the pump speed with the control knob.
g. Push the toggle switch to the off position to stop the pump or turn the

speed control knob to zero velocity. Once t he sample is taken, the

toggle switch can be used to reverse t he pum p’s direc tion to purge the

pick up hose.

a. The Global Water SP200 Variable Speed Portable Sample Pump

requires minimal maintenance. T he s ampler enclosure is rain resistant

and rugged. Avoid exposure to extremely r ough usage. R outinely

wipe down the carrying case, rinse the pic k up hose and debris s trainer

with mild soap and warm water. Additional norpr ene tubing for the

sampler pump, removable debris strainers, and pickup hose can be

purchased from Global Water (see Appendix A sect ion) .

VII. Trouble Shooting

Issue: The pump does not work
a. Test the battery voltage and ensure that it has a full charge.
b. Test the battery cables for continuity.
c. Open enc los ur e v er ify that battery and motor connections are attac hed

to circuit board.

Authorization). Do not return items without an RMA# on the outside of

the package.

Include a written statement describing the problems.

Send the package with shipping prepaid to our factory address. Insure

your shipment, as the warranty does not c ov er damage incur r ed dur ing

transit.

VIII. Warranty

a. Global Water Instrumentation, Inc. warrants that its products are free

from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and
service for a period of one year from date of shipment from factory.
Global Water’s obligations under this w ar r anty are limited to, at Global
Water’s option: (I) replacing or (II) repairing; any products determined
to be defective. In no case shall Global Water ’s liability exceed the
products original purchase price. This w ar r anty does not apply to any
equipment that has been repaired or altered, ex c ept by Global Water
Instrumentation, Inc., or which has been s ubjec t to misuse, negligence
or accident. It is expressly agreed that this warranty will be in lieu of
all warranties of fitness and in lieu of the warr anty of merchantability.
