2. Intended purpose

The Electric Hard Skin Remover is intended for the removal of callus formation. It is designed solely for use on humans. It has been developed for private use and is unsuitable for commercial purposes.

Foreseeable misuse

DANGER! Risk of injury!

~ The device may not be used on reddened, injured or burnt

skin. Similarly, healthy skin without calluses may not be treated with this device. Birth marks, warts and other protrusions (except calluses) must not be treated with this device. In all of these cases, this could lead to injuries of the skin and deeper tissue layers.

~ Diabetics and persons with high blood pressure

may only use this device after consultation with their general practitioner.

3. Safety information

Instructions for safe operation

This device can be used by children from the

age of 8 and people with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or people without adequate experience and/or understanding, if they are supervised or instructed on how to use this device safely and if they are aware of the resulting risks. Children should not be allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children.

DANGER as small parts may be swallowed

~ The cleaning brush is a small part that could be swallowed.

Keep these away from children under the age of 36 months.

DANGER for children

~ Packing materials are not children's toys. Children should not

be allowed to play with the plastic bags. There is a risk of suffocation.

~ Keep the device out of the reach of children.

DANGER! Risk of injury!

~ Do not use the device if there is visible damage. ~ To avoid any risk, do not make modifications to the product.

Repairs must be carried out by a specialist workshop or the Service Centre.

DANGER from batteries

~ Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the

batteries. Replace only with the same or an equivalent type.

~ Batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore you

should store batteries out of the reach of young children. If a battery has been swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately.

~ DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Batteries must not be charged

or reactivated by other means, nor must they be dismantled, thrown into a fire or short-circuited.

~ Always remove used batteries from the device immediately,

since these may leak and therefore cause damage.

~ Remove the batteries from the device if you intend not to use

it for an extended period of time. The batteries may leak and damage the device.

~ Do not subject batteries to extreme conditions, place them on

radiators or expose them to direct sunlight. Otherwise, there is an increased danger of batteries leaking.

~ Always replace all batteries at the same time. ~ If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with the skin, eyes

and mucous membranes. In case of contact with the acid, rinse the affected area at once with plenty of clean water and seek medical assistance immediately.

~ Batteries must be properly disposed of after use.

~ Do not use the device if the roller shows damages. ~ Do not file over previously damaged skin areas (e.g. through

eczema or wounds), or over raised skin areas (such as e.g. birth marks or warts).

~ Only use the original accessories. ~ Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents. ~ Protect your device from shocks and prevent it from falling

down.

~ Use this device on human callused skin only. Other surfaces

could damage the rollers.

~ Only clean the roller with the brush.

5. General information about calluses

Calloused skin is normal, especially on the feet. However, it should not become too thick or hard. Both of these conditions can cause pain.

Causes

An increase in calloused skin can be caused by the wrong shoes, obesity, an incorrect gait, bone deformations or extremely dry skin. Should you suffer from an increase in calloused skin, you should search for the causes and try to eliminate them. Also ask your doctor.

Prevention

• Regular foot baths refresh and relax your feet.

• Moisturise your feet regularly (especially after every foot

bath).

• Make sure that your shoes fit well and, if possible, change

your shoes daily.

6. How to use

• Remove all packing material.

• Check that the delivery is complete.

6.1 Power supply

WARNING! Risk of material damage! Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

1. Slide the battery compartment lid 7 off the housing 5.

2. If necessary, replace the old batteries with new ones.

3. Slide the battery compartment lid 7 back on to the housing5.

6.2 Removal and attachment of roller

holder

Removal

• Press the button 6 and remove the roller holder 2 upwards.

Attachment

1. Figure A: place the roller holder 2 on the top of the device in such a way, that the cog wheels of the roller and the device are above one another.

2. Press the roller holder 2 on to the device until it engages audibly.

3. Check that it is secure.

7. Operation

Two complete rollers 1/8 with roller holders 2 are supplied. They have different grains.

• The coarser grain (turquoise roller 8) is for use on thick cal-

luses.

• The finer grain (purple roller 1) also removes calluses, but

also smoothes them. This roller is especially suitable for smoothing after having used the coarser roller 8.

WARNING! Exert only light pressure. Do not treat one spot longer than 2-3seconds. If too much pressure is exerted or if the treatment duration is too long, this can lead to skin injuries.

7.1 Application

• Make sure the skin is dry.

• It is imperative that the skin is taut.

• Stop the treatment immediately in case of pain.

• Lay a blanket or towel down, on which the removed calloused skin can fall.

1. Expose the parts from which the calluses are to be removed.

2. Press the safety button 4 down and then press the slide

switch 3 up. The roller 1/8 starts to rotate.

3. Apply the rotating roller slowly and carefully to the callus,

which is to be removed.

4. Apply the roller 1/8 to the callus with only a little pressure.

5. To switch off the device, slide the button 3 down.

7.2 Skin care after application

• Apply body lotion, oil or cream to the skin.

• Do not apply any substances (e.g. deodorant) to the treated areas, which could irritate the skin.

8. Cleaning and maintenance of the

device

WARNING!

~ Do not switch the device on if the roller unit has been re-

moved.

~ Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents. ~ None of the parts may be cleaned under water.

After every application

• Clean the roller holder 2 and the roller 1/8 after every application.

1. Switch off the device.

2. Clean the roller holder and the rollers with the brush 10

after every application.

3. Place the protective lid 9 on the roller holder 2.

From time to time

• Wipe down the housing of the device with a damp cloth when necessary.

• Check whether the surface of the roller 1/8 is undamaged. To do so, turn the roller and check the surface carefully.

9. Storage

DANGER! Keep the device out of the reach of children.

NOTE: to prevent soiling, store the device with attached roller

and protective lid.

• When the device is not being used, place the protective lid 9 on the roller holder 2.

• If you are not going to be using the device for a longer period of time, remove the batteries.

10. Replacing the roller

WARNING! Do not use the device if the surface of the roller is

damaged. NOTE: replacement rollers can be ordered at:

- on www.hoyerhandel.com

- or at the service centre hotline, which is listed in the chapter "Warranty of the HOYER HandelGmbH" on page 15.

When must the roller be replaced?

• When you can see signs of damage.

• If you need an increasing amount of time for the same result.

• Depending on the intensity of use, but generally after one year.

Removal

Press the button 6 and remove the roller holder 2 upwards.

Attachment

1. Figure A: place the roller holder 2 on the top of the device

2. Press the roller holder 2 on to the device until it engages

audibly.

3. Check that it is secure.

11. Troubleshooting

If your device fails to function as required, please try this checklist first. Perhaps there is only a minor problem, and you can solve it yourself.

DANGER! Do not attempt to repair the device yourself under any circumstances.

13. Disposal

This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EC. The symbol showing a wheelie bin crossed through indicates that the product requires separate refuse collection in the European Union. This applies to the product and all accessories marked with this symbol. Products identified with this symbol may not be discarded with normal household waste, but must be taken to a collection point for recycling electric and electronic appliances. Recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and protect the environment.

Batteries must not be discarded with your household waste. Spent batteries must be disposed of properly. Special containers are available for this purpose in shops selling batteries and at municipal collection points.

14. Warranty of the HOYER HandelGmbH

Dear Customer, your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase. If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our discretion – free of charge to you. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred. If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a

charge.

Warranty coverage

The device was produced carefully according to strict quality guidelines and tested diligently prior to delivery. The warranty applies to material or factory defects. This warranty does not include product parts that are subject to standard wear and therefore can be considered wear parts; the same applies to damages at fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or parts made of glass. This warranty expires if the product is damaged, not used as intended or not serviced. For the proper operation of the product, all instructions listed in the operating instructions must be observed carefully. Any form of use and handling that is advised against in the operating instructions or warned against must always be avoided. The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incorrect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our authorised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.

2. Määräystenmukainen käyttö

Elektroninen kovettumien poistaja on tarkoitettu ihokovettumien poistamiseen. Laite soveltuu käytettäväksi ainoastaan ihmisille. Laite on tarkoitettu ainoastaan yksityiskäyttöön eikä sitä saa käyttää kaupallisiin tarkoituksiin.

Ennakoitava väärinkäyttö

VAARA loukkaantumisesta!

~ Laitetta ei saa käyttää punoittavalla, loukkaantuneella tai pa-

laneella iholla. Laitteella ei saa käsitellä tervettäkään ihoa, jos siinä ei ole kovettumia. Luomia, syyliä ja muita kohoutumia (ihokovettumia lukuunottamatta) ei saa käsitellä tällä laitteella. Kaikissa tapauksissa seurauksena saattaa olla ihon ja sen alaisten kudoskerrosten vaurioita.

~ Diabeetikot ja korkeaa verenpainetta sairastavat

henkilöt saavat käyttää laitetta vasta neuvoteltuaan lääkärinsä kanssa.

Ohjeita turvallista käyttöä varten

Tätä laitetta voivat käyttää vähintään 8 vuotta täyttäneet lapset ja sellaiset henkilöt, joiden fyysiset, sensoriset tai henkiset kyvyt tai kokemus ja/ tai tiedot ovat riittämättömät, jos heitä valvotaan tai mikäli heidät on opastettu käyttämään laitetta turvallisesti ja ymmärtämään sen käyttöön liittyvät vaarat. ~ Puhdistusharja on nieltävä pieni osa. Pidä se loitolla 36 kuu-

kautta nuoremmista lapsista.

~ Pakkausmateriaali ei kuulu lasten leikkeihin. Lasten ei pidä

antaa leikkiä muovipusseilla. Niistä voi aiheutua tukehtumisvaara.

~ Säilytä laitetta lasten ulottumattomissa.

VAARA loukkaantumisesta

~ Laitetta ei pidä käyttää, jos laitteessa on näkyviä vaurioita. ~ Turvateknisistä syistä tuotteen rakenteeseen ei saa tehdä

muutoksia. Vie laite kunnostettavaksi aina ammattitaitoiseen korjaamoon tai valmistajan huoltokeskukseen.

VAARA paristoista

~ Huomioi oikea polaarisuus paristoja asettaessasi. Pariston

voi korvata vain samanlaisella tai vastaavalla tyypillä.

~ Paristot voivat olla hengenvaarallisia nieltäessä. Säilytä tä-

män takia paristoja poissa pikkulasten ulottuvilta. Jos paristo on nielty, on välittömästi hakeuduttava lääkärin hoitoon.

~ RÄJÄHDYSVAARA! Paristoja ei saa ladata eikä aktivoida

muulla tavoin, niitä ei saa purkaa, heittää tuleen eikä kytkeä oikosulkuun.

~ Käytetyt paristot on aina heti poistettava laitteesta, koska ne

voivat vuotaa ja aiheuttaa siten vahinkoja.

~ Poista paristot laitteesta, jos et käytä laitetta pitempään ai-

kaan. Paristot saattavat vuotaa ja aiheuttaa laitteen vioittumisen.

~ Älä aseta paristoja alttiiksi äärimmäisille olosuhteille, älä lai-

ta niitä lämmityslaitteiden päälle äläkä suoraan auringonpaisteeseen. Muutoin on olemassa suurempi vuotovaara.

~ Vaihda aina kaikki paristot samanaikaisesti. ~ Jos pariston happoa on päässyt vuotamaan, vältä kosketusta

ihoon, silmiin ja limakalvoihin. Huuhtele hapon kanssa kosketuksiin joutuneet kohdat heti runsaalla määrällä puhdasta vettä ja hakeudu välittömästi lääkärin hoitoon.

~ Paristot on käytön jälkeen hävitettävä asianmukaisella taval-

la.

VAROITUS ihon vaurioista ja ärsytyksestä

~ Älä käytä laitetta vaurioituneen rullan kanssa. ~ Älä hio vahingoittuneiden ihoalueiden yli (esim. rohtumien

tai haavojen) tai koholla olevia ihoalueita (kuten esim. luomet tai syylät).

VAROITUS aineellisista vahingoista

~ Käytä vain alkuperäisiä varusteita. ~ Väkeviä tai hankaavia puhdistusaineita ei saa käyttää. ~ Suojaa laitetta iskuilta äläkä päästä sitä putoamaan. ~ Käsittele laitteella vain ihmisihon kovettumia. Muut pinnat

voivat vahingoittaa rullia.

~ Puhdista rullat vain harjalla.

5. Yleistä kovettumista

Kovettumien esiintyminen on etenkin jaloissa normaalia. Niistä ei saisi tulla liian paksuja tai erityisen kovia. Tämä voi olla kivuliasta.

Syyt

Kovettumat saattavat aiheutua vääristä kengistä, liiallisesta ylipainosta, vääränlaisesta kävelytyylistä, luiden epämuodostumista tai erittäin kuivasta ihosta. Jos kärsit kovettumien lisääntymisestä, yritä etsiä mahdollisia syitä ja poistaa ne. Kysy myös neuvoa lääkäriltäsi.

Ennaltaehkäisy

• Säännölliset jalkakylvyt virkistävät ja rauhoittavat jalkoja.

• Rasvaa jalat säännöllisesti (erityisesti aina jalkakylvyn jälkeen).

• Käytä hyvin sopivia jalkineita ja vaihda kengät mahdollisuuksien mukaan päivittäin.

6. Käyttöönotto

• Poista kaikki pakkausmateriaalit laitteesta.

• Tarkasta, että toimitus on täydellinen.

6.1 Virtaliitäntä

VAROITUS aineellisista vahingoista! Huomioi oikea polaarisuus paristoja asettaessasi.

1. Työnnä paristolokeron kansi 7 pois rungolta5.

2. Vaihda vanhat paristot tarvittaessa uusiin.

3. Työnnä paristolokeron kansi 7 takaisin rungolle5.

6.2 Rullanpidikkeen irrotus ja kiinnitys

Irrotus

Paina painiketta 6 ja irrota rullanpidike2 ylöspäin.

Kiinnitys

1. Kuva A: aseta rullanpidike 2 laitteen päähän siten, että

rullan ja laitteen hammaspyörät ovat päälletysten.

2. Paina rullanpidikettä 2 laitteeseen, kunnes se kiinnittyy kuu-

luvasti.

3. Tarkasta tukeva asento.

7. Toimintaohjeet

Toimitukseen sisältyy kaksi kokonaista rullaa 1/8 rullanpidikkeineen 2. Ne eroavat toisistaan vain rakeisuutensa puolesta.

• Karkeampaa rakeisuutta (turkoosi rulla 8) käytetään paksumpien kovettumien käsittelyyn.

• Hienompi rakeisuus (liila rulla 1) poistaa myös kovettumia sekä tasoittaa niitä. Tämä rulla soveltuu käytettäväksi viimeistelyyn karkeamman rullan 8 jälkeen.

VAROITUS! Paina vain kevyesti. Älä käsittele yhtä kohtaa 2 - 3 sekuntia kauempaa. Liiallinen painaminen tai liian pitkäaikainen käsittely voi aiheuttaa ihovaurioita.

7.1 Käyttö

• Huomioi, että ihon on oltava kuiva.

• On erittäin tärkeää, että ihoa kiristetään hyvin.

• Lopeta käsittely heti, jos tunnet kipua.

• Aseta alle peite tai pyyheliina, jolle sarveismassa voi pudota.

1. Riisu ne kohdat, joilta kovettumia käsitellään.

2. Paina turvapainike 4 alas ja työnnä sitten liukukytkin 3 ylös.

Rulla 1/8 alkaa pyörimään.

3. Aseta pyörivä rulla hitaasti ja varovasti kovettumalle, jonka

haluat poistaa.

4. Pidä rullaa 1/8 vain kevyesti painamalla kovettumaa vas-

ten.

5. Sammuta laite työntämällä kytkin 3 alas.

7.2 Ihonhoito käytön jälkeen

• Hoida ihoa kosteusvoiteella, öljyllä tai rasvalla.

• Älä laita käsiteltyihin kohtiin mitään aineita (esim. deodoranttia), jotka voivat ärsyttää ihoa.

8. Laitteen puhdistus ja huolto

VAROITUS!

~ Älä kytke laitetta päälle, kun rullayksikkö ei ole paikallaan. ~ Väkeviä tai hankaavia puhdistusaineita ei saa käyttää. ~ Mitään osaa ei saa puhdistaa vedessä.

Jokaisen käytön jälkeen

• Puhdista rullanpidike 2 ja rullat 1/8 jokaisen käytön jälkeen.

1. Kytke laite pois päältä.

2. Puhdista rullanpidike ja rullat jokaisen käytön jälkeen har-

jalla 10.

3. Aseta suojus 9 rullanpidikkeelle 2.

Ajoittain

• Pyyhi laite tarvittaessa kevyesti kostutetulla liinalla.

• Tarkasta, ettei rullan 1/8 pinnassa ole vaurioita. Pyöritä tätä varten rullaa ja tarkasta pinta huolellisesti.

9. Säilytys

VAARA! Säilytä laitetta lasten ulottumattomissa.

OHJE: säilytä laitetta vain kiinnitetyllä rullalla ja suojuksella

likaantumisen välttämiseksi.

• Kun laite ei ole käytössä, aseta suojus 9 rullanpidikkeelle 2.

• Poista paristot laitteesta, jos et käytä laitetta pitempään aikaan.

10. Rullien vaihtaminen

VAROITUS! Älä käytä laitetta, jos rullan pinta on vaurioitunut. OHJE: lisää rullia on tilattavissa:

- tai palvelukeskukselta, jonka yhteystiedot löytyvät kohdasta luku "Takuun antaja on HOYER Handel GmbH" sivulla 31.

Milloin rulla on vaihdettava?

• Jos rullassa on näkyvä vaurio.

• Jos saman tuloksen saavuttaminen kestää aina kauemman aikaa.

• Käyttömäärästä riippuen, tavallisesti kuitenkin viimeistään vuoden kuluttua.
