1.Remove the cover on the back of the Remote Transmitter to expose the code switches. Slide the code switches to your choice of ON or OFF positions. FACTORY SETTING IS ALL “OFF”. See figure 7

2.Make sure that the child proof pin is in the OFF Position.

3.Make sure the slide switch on the Remote Receiver is at OFF Position.

4.Take the Remote Transmitter close to the fireplace or the Remote Receiver (less than 5 feet from the fireplace or Remote Receiver is recommended.)

5.Slide the slide switch on the Remote Receiver to REMOTE position.

6.Install supplied AAA alkaline batteries into the Remote Receiver. The LCD on the Remote Transmitter will blink.

7.Press and hold the down button on the Remote Transmitter. The Remote Receiver will produce a “BEEP” sound when it receives the code from the Remote Transmitter.

8.If you DO NOT hear a “BEEP” sound from the Remote Receiver, remove batteries from the Remote Transmitter and slide the slide switch on the remote receiver to OFF position, wait for 1 minute, and repeat steps 3 to 7.

9.Replace the cover of the Remote Transmitter and the Receiver. The system is now ready to operate.

They cannot be calibrated. The TX is designed to allow a variance of + or - 2 degrees. This prevents the fireplace from constantly cycling ON and OFF. It also allows the fireplace to build up a certain amount of radiant heat before turning it off.

If the TX batteries are dead or the TX is removed from the location, and the TX cannot send a signal, the RX will assume control Of itself.

In AUTO mode, every time the RX receives a signal, a two-hour timer is activated within the RX. If the RX does not receive another signal within the two-hour window the RX assumes control and the six-hour manual timer will take control. The RX will then cycle ON and OFF every twenty minuets for six hours before shutting itself down. In case the set temperature is not reached, the TX is designed to send a new signal every half hour and restart the two-hour clock.

In manual mode, the maximum operating time is six hours. If the RX receives no signal, it will continue to operate for six hours before shutting itself down.

There is no constant connection between the TX* and RX*.

The TX should not be placed on a metal object. RF transmission will be scattered.

The TX should be away from drafts, lighting, windows or any outside source of high or low temperatures and should be between 15 and 20 feet from the RX for best operation. The TX is measuring the ambient room temperature at it’s location.
