BRINGING 1080p FULL HD TO THE HOME

NEC Display Solutions’ New MultiSync SC40 and SC46 Combine

CHICAGO – September 6, 2007 – NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading stand­alone provider of plasma displays, LCD desktop and commercial large-screen LCDs,
and projectors, announced today a new line of LCD flat panel displays for home theater
and home-entertainment environments. The MultiSync Residential Series offers
superior image quality and performance, and an unparalleled feature set designed for
custom installations.

Unlike consumer-grade LCD TVs, the MultiSync Residential Series features a
proprietary ASIC chip set for superb video quality and crisp, clear graphics. The 40-inch
MultiSync SC40 and 46-inch MultiSync SC46 include connectivity features for every
home application, as well as the ability to be configured with a state-of-the-art ATSC HD
tuner. The MultiSync Residential Series is also engineered with a ruggedized expansion
slot for functional upgradeability, giving consumers peace of mind.

The Residential Series offers full HD 1080p resolution at 1920 x 1080 and a 16:9 aspect
ratio for superior video performance. The professional-grade, high-quality components

The new NEC MultiSync SC40 and SC46 include the following features:

• HDCP (High Definition Content Protection), which can be used with future Hi-Def
components

• HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) – all-digital audio/visual interface
transmits uncompressed streams

• Auto-adjust color scheme for even-looking, true-color pictures with multiple
gamma curves, designed specifically for different applications

• OSM lockout, which gives users ability to lock out all functions, including power,
limiting non-users from adjusting preset adjustments
