2 Product description

Dispensing tools for epMotion dispensing systems are piston-stroke pipettes which
operate according to the air cushion principle. If the piston in the dispensing tool moves
upwards the liquid is aspirated into the pipette tip. If the piston in the dispensing tool
moves downwards, the liquid is dispensed from the pipette tip. In multi-channel
dispensing tools the pistons move simultaneously in all channels.

• Tool for the removal of worn O-rings

• Mounting aid for O-rings

• 8 replacement O-rings

4Operation

NOTICE! Any contamination of the gold contacts will have an impact on the
performance of the dispensing tools.

 Do not touch the gold contacts.

 Use the dispensing tools in accordance with the descriptions in the corresponding

epMotion operating manual.

5Cleaning

Cleaning single-channel dispensing tools

1. Remove ejector for cleaning.

2. Wipe off contaminations on the tip cones and the surfaces with a damp cloth.

Cleaning multi-channel dispensing tools

 Wipe off contaminations on the tip cones and the surfaces with a damp cloth.
 Replace o-rings on the tip cones once per year or more often if required.

Observe the notes in chapter Decontamination before shipment in the operating
manual of your epMotion.

6 Maintenance

After 200 000 strokes or 100 000 full strokes the dispensing tool must be serviced. The
epMotion counts the strokes and indicates that service is required.

 Have the dispensing tool serviced only by a service technician that has been

authorized by Eppendorf AG.
