Technical Service Bulletin # 4
Product: Babytherm 8000 WB / OC Date: November 30, 1999 Re: Mattress Heating, noise on the ECG signal, new Power PCB Reference Doc: IDM no. 5 / 01.98 Reason: 1.Introduction of new Power PCB with P/N 82 90 771 and
2.Faults caused by old Power (PCB P/N 82 90 641) in conjunction with certain ECG monitor models take the form of superimposed noise on the ECG signal. These ECG monitor models are not adequately shielded against electric interference. It is unlikely that the user would interpret this noise as an ECG signal. This noise can also cause interruptions of the ECG signal.
Solution: Re 1:
Installation of the new Power PCB P/N 82 90 771. This installation requires mechanical modification as described in the conversion instructions 2M 21 923 "New Power PCB for units up to ARLN-
0999". The twin temperature sensor (P/N 2M 20 859) must be
replaced in addition by a new one when replacing the old Power PCB (P/N 82 90 641) with the new one (P/N 82 90 771).
Re 2: The ECG monitor manufacturers may remedy this problem by way of appropriate measures (filter, other cable, different routing of cable etc.). The problem can also be rectified by replacing the old Power PCB (P/N 82 90 641) with the new one (P/N 82 90 771). This installation requires mechanical modification as described in the conversion instructions 2M 21 923 "New Power PCB for units up to ARLN-
