D-Link expands our line of managed switches and introduces a VPN Router. Details on these exciting new
products follow:
DI-804V - The D-Link DI-804V is a powerful VPN router with four (4) auto-
negotiating 10/100 Ethernet ports, Network Address Translation (NAT) and an
integrated Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server that permits users
to create up to eight (8) IP Security (IPSec) VPN tunnels. Additionally, the DI-804V
includes support for the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) standard that allows
computers running Windows ME or Windows XP to automatically recognize, setup
and configure the VPN Router for opening and closing ports necessary for full
functionality in programs such as NetMeeting without compromising security.
DES-3226 –D-Link's DES-3226 is a high-performance managed Layer 2 Switch that
provides an ideal solution for workgroups and departments. The DES-3226 has (24)
10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet ports with support for optional Gigabit and 100FX
modules for fast connection speeds and flexibility. The DES-3226 is the successor
to the DES-3225G and builds on it’s outstanding performance and incorporates the
following enhancements:
Enhanced QoS (4) priority queues
Improved Expandability
Expanded Network Management Support

COMPUTER RESELLER NEWS (CRN) COVERS NEW D-LINK CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
D-Link’s plans to roll out a D-Link Certified Network Engineer program were recently covered by CRN - the
leading publication for builders of technology solutions.
"Most of the high-end networking training is skewed to a particular vendor," said D-Link Vice President of
Channel Sales, Greg Avera. "We want to educate people on alternatives in the departmental workgroup
solutions market."
He also said vendors are not doing as much training in the wake of the more difficult business environment.
"It costs a lot of money to get people trained," he said. "This is a good opportunity."
