WARNING: Do not rely solely on the information displayed on the Primary Flight Display (PFD) screen to maneuver the aircraft.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of unsafe operation, carefully review and understand this pilot’s guide, and practice basic operation on the ground. During flight operations, carefully compare indications from the PFD to all available navigation sources, including the information from other Navigation Aids (NAVAIDs), visual sightings, etc. For safety purposes, always resolve any discrepancies before aircraft operations and/or continuing navigation.
WARNING: The United States government operates the Global Positioning System (GPS) and is solely responsible for its accuracy and maintenance. The GPS system is subject to changes that could affect the accuracy and performance of all GPS equipment. Portions of the xVue Touch system utilize GPS as a precision electronic NAVAID. Therefore, as with all NAVAIDs, information presented by the xVue Touch system can be misused or misinterpreted and, therefore, can become unsafe.
WARNING: Using the Vertical Situation Display (VSD), maps, and charts for course guidance is not authorized. The VSD, maps, and charts are not approved sources of navigation information. The VSD, maps, and charts are an aid to other means of navigating or taxiing the airplane and must not be used as a basis for maneuvering.
WARNING: Graphical depictions of uplinked weather data (radar, satellite, etc.) could be as much as 20 minutes older than the actual weather conditions. The timestamps associated with the graphical depictions only indicate the time since the information was generated by the service provider. This delay should be considered when referencing graphical weather, as the movement and intensity of the weather could adversely affect the safety of flight.

WARNING: Do not use uplinked weather information for maneuvering in, near, or around areas of hazardous weather. Information provided may not accurately depict current weather conditions. Uplinked weather data is not a substitute for onboard weather radar.
NOTE: Interference from GPS repeaters operating inside nearby hangars can cause intermittent loss of altitude and heading information displayed in the xVue Touch system while on the ground. Moving more than 300 FT (feet) away from the source of the interference should resolve any issues.
CAUTION: The xVue Touch system display glass has an optical coating that can be easily damaged. Do not press excessively hard on the glass.
NOTE: Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) data is provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and may not be updated outside of normal business hours. Always confirm the information provided is current by cross-checking alternate sources and/or contact the local Flight Service Station for interpretation of TFR data.
CAUTION: The Infrared (IR) bar is made of polycarbonate and can be easily damaged. Use extreme care when cleaning.

The BendixKing xVue Touch integrated flight deck (xVue Touch) is a touch-controlled Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multifunction Display (MFD) system that replaces the traditional 6- and 8-pack flight instruments with solid-state display of airspeed, attitude, altitude, horizontal situation indication, turn coordinator, vertical speed indication, and course deviations, and also features Synthetic Vision System (SVS), providing better reliability and improved situational awareness.
The MFD displays lateral and vertical positioning information, including a moving map, VFR sectional and IFR charts, instrument procedures charts, traffic, weather, and Vertical Situation Display (VSD) with terrain, obstacle, and airspace awareness.

Displays primary flight data, Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI), moving map, and other related data. The display uses a light sensor to detect lighting conditions for automatic dimming of the display; the display can also be dimmed manually. The KSD 100EXP has a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port and Wireless (Wi-Fi) antenna for database uploads and maintenance functions.
Configuration module [i.e., Aircraft Personality Module (APM)] is part of the KSD 100EXP and stores configuration data.
Air Data Attitude Heading Reference System (ADAHRS) provides attitude, altitude, airspeed, air temperature, vertical speed, and heading information to the xVue Touch.
Magnetometer provides heading information to the xVue Touch.
Outside Air Temperature (OAT) probe that measures air temperature and provides the data to the xVue Touch.

BASIC OPERATION FEATURES

The xVue Touch is controlled by the KSD 100EXP, which uses a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to represent information and actions available. In addition to the touch GUI, the xVue Touch is also controlled by the KCP 100EXP (throughout this guide, referred to as “control panel”), which provides a manual interface.

TOUCHSCREEN TECHNOLOGY

The KSD 100EXP uses IR touch technology - a reflection of an object (finger, pen) is detected as a touch (i.e., a response is registered without an object actually touching the screen). T he KSD 100EXP also detects a touch when gloves are worn. However, a touch is only registered when it is completed in the same location where the touch was started.
The KSD 100EXP is controlled by the following touch gestures:

TOUCH CONTROLS AND FIELDS

The touch control dialogue boxes are displayed on the right side of the screen (both in full/split screen view). Most dialogue boxes close automatically after 9 seconds of inactivity. Only one dialogue box can be open at a time.
The Menu button is always displayed on the upper right corner of the screen. Controls accessed through the Menu button include full/split screen selection, PFD overlays and settings, MFD view and associated overlays and settings, system tools, and advisory messages.
The touch fields are identified by a white border around the control legend. When a touch is detected, the border or menu close symbol (X) “blooms” in cyan. Touching a map symbol provides more information about the selected item. Map symbols do not bloom when touched.
