Section 4
ERRATA SHEET
Page 4-1 is amended to ADD the following: Reading Codes/Read Pending Codes
Pending Codes, also referred to as Continuous Tests or Maturing DTCs, obtain test results from continuously monitored emission-related powertrain components and systems. Certain OBD II monitors are run continuously as the car is operated under normal driving conditions. This function reports test results to the PCM after a single drive cycle. The Pending Codes function is useful after a vehicle repair or after clearing PCM diagnostic data. Test results reported by this function do not necessarily indicate a faulty component or system. The READ key retrieves Codes and Pending Codes.
NOTE
On some vehicles, Read Codes, retrieve Pending Codes and Erasing Codes can take approximately 20 seconds to complete.
Change the Indication after pressing the READ key as follows:
All four Code Type Indicators will light individually in a clockwise rotation to indicate the tester is working.
 Codes set in the PCM memory will be indicated by a STEADY LED
Code Type indicator (Powertrain, Body, Chassis or Uart).
 Pending Codes that are retrieved are indicated by a FLASHING LED
Code Type indicator.
NOTE
All retrieved Codes will be displayed first, followed by Pending Codes.
When scrolling through Read Codes/Pending Codes, be sure to wait a few seconds between codes whether the LED is FLASHING or STEADY ON.
Page 4-2 is amended to ADD the following:
Change the Indication after pressing and holding the ERASE key
as follows:
 Press and hold the ERASE key for approximately 3 seconds. The
four LEDs will alternately FLASH 2 at a time (Powertrain/Chassis, then Body/Uart) indicating an Erase command has been requested.
