Zircon’s Repeater® 25 combines the rugged durability of a professional tape measure with a simple-to-operate digital voice recorder, allowing do-it-yourselfers and professionals to easily record multiple measurements as they work. Recordings can then be played back in sequential order whenever and wherever needed.

The Repeater can hold up to 20 seconds of messages.

LIMITED 1 YEAR WARRANTY

Zircon Corporation, (“Zircon”) warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Any in-warranty defective product returned to Zircon*, freight prepaid with proof of purchase date and $5.00 to cover postage and handling, will be repaired or replaced at Zircon’s option. This warranty is limited to the electronic circuitry and original case of the product and specifically excludes damage caused by abuse, unreasonable use or neglect. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied,

and no other representations or claims of any nature shall bind or obligate Zircon. Any implied warranties applicable to this product

are limited to the one year period following its purchase.

IN NO EVENT WILL ZIRCON BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM POSSESSION, USE OR MALFUNCTION OF THIS PRODUCT.

In accordance with government regulations, you are advised that:

(i) some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential

damages, so the above limitations and/or exclusions may not apply to you, and further (ii) this warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES

Note: Removing the batteries will not erase any previously recorded messages.

1To remove the batteries, first remove the screw in the battery compartment door.

Then slide the door in the direction of the arrow and open it.

2Replace the batteries as shown on the bottom of the battery compartment door.

Close and latch the door and replace the screw.

3Before using the Repeater for the first time, reset the message memory by pressing the REW button.

4 To record your first message, press and hold the REC button while you speak into the microphone. The LED will light while the unit is recording. When you have finished speaking, release the REC button.

Note: When recording in low noise conditions, the distance from your mouth to the microphone does not have much effect on how loud the message will be played back. In high noise conditions, hold the Repeater close to your mouth to reduce the background noise.

5To record more messages, just repeat Step 4. If the REW button has been pushed before recording, it will go back to the beginning and record over

the first messages.

Note: When the unit reaches the end of the message memory, the LED will go out and the unit will stop recording even though the REC button is still depressed. At that point, if you want to record any new messages, you will have to press the REW button, keeping in mind that when this is done, previous messages will be overwritten.

PLAYING MESSAGES

6 To hear the previously recorded messages, press and release the

PLAY button. It will play one message each time the button is pressed, starting with the first message that was recorded.

7To play the next message, press the PLAY button again. The Repeater will keep playing messages until it reaches the end of the message memory. At that point, if you want to hear the messages again, or if you want to record new messages, you must press the REW button.

REWINDING MESSAGES

8	Pressing the REW button resets the Repeater to the beginning
	of the message memory. This allows you to record over previously
	recorded messages. It also allows you to replay messages
	whenever you like.
LOCKING THE TAPE
9	The repeater contains a standard tape measure. To lock the tape’s

position, slide the tape lock into the down position. To retract the tape, slide the tape lock into the up position.

Caution: The tape can retract very quickly. To avoid injury, you may want to keep constant pressure on the tape to prevent it from

retracting too quickly with the tape lock in an intermediate position.

INSTALACION Y CAMBIO DE LAS BATERIAS

Nota: El cambio de baterias no borra ningún mensaje grabado anteriormente.

1Para quitar las baterias, primero se debe sacar el tornillo de la puerta del compartimiento de baterias.

Luego se corre la puerta en la dirección de la flecha y se abre.

2Se cambian las baterias tal como se muestra en la parte inferior de la puerta del compartimiento de baterias.

Se cierra y asegura la puerta y se vuelve a colocar el tornillo.

GRABACION DE MENSAJES

3	Antes de usar el Repeater por primera vez, restablezca la
	memoria oprimiendo una vez el botón REW.
4	Para grabar su primer mensaje, mantenga oprimido el botón

REC cuando habla en el micrófono. La luz LED se iluminará mientras la unidad esté grabando. Cuando haya terminado de hablar, suelte el botón REC.

Nota: Cuando esté grabando en ambientes con poco ruido, la distancia entre su boca y el micrófono tiene muy poco efecto sobre el volúmen al que escuchará después el mensaje. En condiciones ruidosas, sostenga el Repeater cerca de la boca para reducir el ruido de fondo.

5Para grabar más mensajes, repita el paso #4. Si se ha oprimido el botón REW antes de grabar el segundo mensaje, este segundo mensaje se grabará sobre el primero. Si no oprimió el botón REW se grabará despues del primer mensaje..

Nota: Cuando la unidad llegue al final de la memoria, se apagará la luz LED y la unidad dejará de grabar aunque el botón REC continúe oprimido. En este momento, si desea grabar otro mensaje, tendrá que oprimir el botón REW teniendo en cuenta que, cuando así lo haga, las grabaciones se harán sobre los mensajes anteriores.

PARA ESCUCHAR LOS MENSAJES

6	Para escuchar los mensajes que ha grabado, oprima y suelte el botón
	PLAY. Escuchará un mensaje cada vez que lo oprima comenzando

por el primer mensaje que grabó.

7Para escuchar el siguiente mensaje, oprima otra vez el botón PLAY. El Repeater continuara reproduciendo mensajes hasta que llegue al final de la memoria. Si, en ese momento, usted desea escuchar los mensajes otra vez, presione el botón REW.

BOTON DE RETROCEDER

8	Al oprimir el botón REW, se recalibra el Repeater al comienzo
	de la memoria de mensajes. Esto le permite grabar sobre los
	mensajes anteriores; también le permite escuchar mensajes
	anteriores cuando lo desee.
SEGURO DE LA CINTA
9	El Repeater contiene una cinta de medir estándar. Para que la cinta
	quede en una posición fija, lleve el seguro de la cinta hacia abajo.
	Para retraer la cinta, lleve el seguro hacia arriba.
	Atención: La cinta se puede retraer con mucha rapidez. Para evitar
	lesiones, puede mantener una presión constante sobre la cinta colocando
	el seguro en una posición intermedia para evitar que se retraiga demasiado rápido.
