Preparing the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® for Use
For safety, the laser exit hole has been covered with a protective sticker. Remove the sticker before
using the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid®.
Replacing the Batteries
The typical battery life for the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® is approximately 12 hours of
continuous use.
If the laser line becomes dim, you may want to replace the batteries. To do this:
Ensure unit is turned off.
Turn over the plumb pyramid and remove the two screws from the bottom of the unit.
Remove the base and replace the batteries.
Put the base back on and secure with the screws.
Using LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid®
Place the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® on a smooth, stable, relatively level surface (within
5° side-to-side and front-to-back).
To turn unit on, press the power switch. The red LED just above the power switch will
illuminate and a vertical laser line will be produced when the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid®
is on.
Point the unit so that the vertical laser line is projected onto the desired surface.
The LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® contains a precision self-leveling mechanism. It will
compensate for a surface tilted up to 5°. If you suspect the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® is
out of its self-leveling range and is no longer producing a plumb line, tilt the unit slightly in
each direction and observe the line on the wall to see if the line corrects to plumb. If while
tilting in one of the direction it does not correct, then the unit is out of range in that direction
and a more level surface needs to be found.
The LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® is equally sensitive to tilt front-to-back. To ensure that
your surface is within the self-leveling range in this direction, you should turn the unit 90° and
repeat the previous step. This will ensure that the unit is within range in both directions. Then
turn it back to the desired direction.
To turn unit off, press and release the power switch. When not in use, always return the unit
to its carrying case to prevent damage.
NOTE:
The LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® will not automatically turn off. Therefore, to maximize battery

life, the unit should be turned off after each use. Turning the unit off also locks the automatic
leveling mechanism inside to prevent it from being damaged.
Helpful Hints
1. To increase the length of the line, move the unit farther back.
2. Placing the unit close to the ceiling or on the floor allows you to project the plumb line on two
adjacent surfaces (i.e. floor and wall or ceiling and wall). This technique can be used, for example,
to align tile on the floor and wall.
3. For best results, always position the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® as square to the target
surface as possible. This will minimize any error caused by the wall or vertical surface being out of
plumb.
4. When using the LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® in a brightly lit area, use the accessory
enhancement glasses.
Warning
The LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® is a highly sensitive, precision tool similar to a transit or
builders level. When not in use, always keep it in its carrying case, and during use, ensure that the
LaserVision® Plumb Pyramid® is never knocked over, dropped, or otherwise handled in a rough
manner.
