5. Mounting a 2.5” HDD
6. Connect to / Disconnect from PC
Connect device to PC’s USB port using enclosed USB cable.
When disconnecting, please use “Hardware Safety Removal” on tray.
7. Button Description
LED Indicator
Backup Button
1. Press “Backup” button to run backup application.
2. Press “Backup” button more than 5 sec to run “Safety Removal”
3. When 10min are passed without data access, it goes to “Sleep mode*”.
4. In case of USB2.0 connection to PC, White color LED is shown
5. In case of USB3.0 connection to PC, Blue color LED is shown

8. Function description
Public Disk and CD-ROM disk image will appeared when
connected to PC.
Start the Secure Tool by clicking on the application program.
This program will run automatically if the PC supports Autorun
CD-ROM function.
Password tool
You can type or click in your password and the password hint.

After setting the password, user can set encryption time which
locks the secured disk automatically.
According to user’s preference, encryption options can be set.
When user clicks Lock / Unlock button on the left, it goes to the
menu shown below, and the device will be locked manually.

After it is locked, PC will only show the public area.
Secure disk will appear after inputting the password.

Separate Partition
User can set the size of the hard disk capacity by typing exact
size or moving the size bar.
And this could be done only in no-password status, as the
warning picture shown below:

When the password is lost, the user has to “Reset” encrypt
production, and all the data will be destroyed.
Because it is AES encrypt and there is no back-door left; as
picture shown below:
Disk formatter
There are more functions on the Disk formatting and Renaming,
User can choose target disk to format and give a new volume
label.

Reset Device
Used encrypted device will be reset to a new one as Factory
default.
All the data will be gone.
Then set a new password to use this device securely
Backup tool
Right click on the Secure Tool, and you will see the ies as
shown below.

Then double click on “Zalman Backup Utility V6.14.exe to
install the backup program, and run the program at the “Start”
When the installation is done, you will see the backup main
window as shown below.

: select source directory to backup
After selecting the folder, click “Add” button to save the path,
and the source directory can be deleted with “Delete” button.
Automatic Backup :
If it is checked ON, Backup will proceed with Backup button on
the device.
Windows start auto run: If it is checked ON, this program is
launched when Windows is on.
It is used for safe removal
