Channel
SET FREQUENCY
1. Select the VFO mode by pressing the [V/M] key if necessary. (See p. 5.).
2. Enter the frequency by pressing the number keys for the chosen frequency. (See p. 16.).
ENTERING “CTCSS” TONE (See Page 30)
3. Press the [MON F] key, then immediately press the [8] tone key.
4. Press the [Main] or [Sub] button so that "TONE" appears on the display. This activates the CTCSS Encoder, which allows repeater access.
5. When you have made your selection of the CTCSS tone mode, Rotate the DIAL one click clockwise to select Menu ("TONE SET").
6. Press the [Band] key to enable the adjustment of the CTCSS frequency.
Indicated by the flashing underscore on the tone freq display.
7. Press the [Main] or [Sub] button until the display indicates the Tone Frequency you need.
8. Press the [Band] key to end the adjustment of the CTCSS frequency and press the [PTT] key to save the new settings and exit to normal operation.
MEMORY STORAGE
8. While still in VFO mode, Press and hold in the [Mon F] key for 1/2 second. Within five seconds of releasing the key, rotate the DIAL to select the desired memory channel.
The microprocessor will automatically select the next-available “free” channel (a memory register on which no data has been stored). If you see an Asterisk (*) by any channel number, it means that the channel currently has no data written on it (i.e. the channel is “free”.)
9. Press the [Mon F] key again to enter the frequency into memory.
MEMORY LABELS
10. Enter the memory mode by pressing the [Mon F] key, then press the [0] key to enter the Set mode. Rotate the DIAL to select menu #11 ("NAME SET").
11. Press the [BAND] key momentarily to enable programming the name tag.
Press the [Main] / [Sub] key, or one of the keyboard keys, to select the first digit of the desired label.
Rotate the DIAL to move to the next character position. Repeat until up to eight characters chosen.
12. Then press the PTT key to save the label and exit.
