Installation Procedures:
The STEELCAGE assembly can be lowered and placed directly on the floor of the wet well/lift station. No stilling well is necessary. The cable should be routed into the logger or control panel for connection. The assembly does not need to be suspended; it can be placed directly on the wet well floor. The cable should be snug with minimal slack to prevent the assembly from “traveling” about in any turbulence in the wet well. Any excess cable can be coiled with a tie wrap and hung on the wall. This will work fine as long as there is no sharp bend in the cable that could cause it to kink.
DO NOT kink the cable, as this will cause blockage to the breather tube inside.
Electrical Installation:
There are two wires, a vent tube and ground inside the cable.
TURN OFF POWER BEFORE CONNECTING THE WIRES!
1. Connect the ground wire first (shield to earth ground to appropriate controller ground).
2. Then connect the red wire to a 13-30 VDC (24 VDC nominal) power supply. Note: An external power supply with a minimum current capability of 40 mA per transmitter, is required.
3. Connect the black lead to the 4-20mA input on the logger or other equipment that will be monitoring the sensor.
