Safety instructions
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
► Connect the appliance only to mains power sockets supply-
ing a mains power voltage of 220 - 240 V ~, 50/60 Hz.
► To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or power
cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or
our Customer Service Department.
► In the event of operating malfunctions, and before cleaning
the appliance, disconnect the plug from the mains power
socket.
► To disconnect the power cable, always pull the plug from
the socket, do not pull the power cable itself.
► Do not crimp or crush the power cable and lay it in such a
way as to prevent anyone from stepping on or tripping over it.
► Ensure that the power cable does not become wet or moist
during use. Place it such that it cannot be crushed or damaged.
► Should the appliance become damaged, to avoid personal
risks discontinue the use of it immediately.
► Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance and
protect it from being damaged.
► To enable you to disconnect the appliance quickly in the
event of an emergency, do not use extension cables.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
► Disconnect the appliance from the mains power source
immediately after use. The appliance is completely free of
electrical power ONLY when unplugged.
► Ensure that objects can never penetrate into the inside of the
appliance, particularly not metal hair clips, grips or hairpins.
► If the appliance is being used in the bathroom, after use
disconnect the plug from the mains power socket, because
the close proximity of water represents a hazard, even when
the appliance is switched off.
Under no circumstances should you use this appliance in
the close vicinity of baths, shower basins or other receptacles containing water. The proximity of water presents a
risk, even when the appliance is switched off. As additional
protection, the installation of a faulty-current protection unit
with an activation power rating of not more than 30 mA is
recommended for the power circuit in the bathroom. Ask
your electrician for advice.

► Do not place the appliance close to sources of heat and

► Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained a fall or

► This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8
years or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or
knowledge if they are supervised or, in regard to the safe
use of the appliance, have been instructed in its use and
have understood the potential risks. Children should not play
with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should
not be performed by children, unless they are being supervised.
► Always only use the appliance with attachments, never on
its own, as the connector for the attachments becomes hot
during operation.
► Allow the appliance to cool down before attaching or de-
taching attachments.
► Use only the supplied original accessories as these have
been optimised for interaction with the appliance. Other
parts are possibly not adequately safe.
► Keep the openings for air inlet and outlet clear so as to have
unimpaired air flow. Otherwise the appliance may overheat.
► Exercise caution when using hair spray, water atomizers etc.
It could happen that the air flow may blow these substances
directly into your eyes. On the other hand, these substances
must not enter the appliance – they may be inflammable,
agressive or conductive for electricity.

Unpacking
♦ Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the carton.
♦ Remove all packing material.

► Packaging materials should not be used as a play thing. There is a risk of
suffocation.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves raw material and
reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is
no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
► If possible, preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty
period, so that in the event of a warranty claim you can package the appliance ideally for its return.
First use
■ Before taking the appliance into use ensure that ...
– the appliance and the attachments are in good working order,
– all packaging materials have been removed.
■ Clean all of the attachments as described under "Cleaning and care".

Fitting Attachments
■ Fit the desired attachment into the attachment insertion slot and turn it
slightly so that it clicks into position.

Removing attachments
■ First switch the appliance off and allow it to cool down.
■ Pull the attachment from the attachment insertion slot .
Switching on/off / Selecting a heat level
■ When you have inserted the required attachment and connected the plug
with the mains power socket, you can now switch the appliance on with the
level switch and select the output level:
– "0" The appliance is switched off
– "C" for a cold air stream (Cool Shot)
– "1" for a warm air stream
– "2" for a hot air stream
■ You switch the appliance off by sliding the level switch to the position "0"
(= appliance off).
■ To fix the styling, you can move the level switch to "C". The styling will be
fixed by the cool air stream.
Styling
Select the desired attachment:
– for long hair and large curls the large styling brush .– for shorter hair or small curls the small styling brush .

■ Wind the slightly damp strand of hair around the selected styling brush /.
■ Switch the appliance on at level 1 or 2.
■ When the strand is dry, slide the level switch to "C". Wait until the strand
has cooled.
■ Press the roll-out button and simultaneously pull the appliance downwards
out of the strand. The styling brush / rotates with it, so that unwinding
the strand can be done easily.
■ Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Tips for the perfect hairstyle
■ Only style your hair when it is already almost dry.
■ Divide your hair into individual strands for more volume.
■ You will achieve additional volume by starting to dry your hair at the hairline
and working down towards the ends.
■ Let your hair cool down sufficiently before combing it out.
Cleaning and Care

■ Clean the air intake grill at regular intervals with a soft brush.
