of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and
disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating

This hair straightener is intended only for the straightening of human hair. Under
no circumstances is it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of synthetic material.
This appliance is intended exclusively for private use. Pay heed to all of the information in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions. This appliance
is not intended for commercial applications.

Safety information
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
► Connect the appliance only to mains power sockets supply-
ing a mains power voltage of 110 - 240 V ~, 50/60 Hz.
► Remove the plug from the mains power socket in the event of
operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance.
► To disconnect the power cable, always pull the plug from the
socket, do not pull the power cable itself.
► Ensure that the power cable does not become wet or damp
during use. Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be
crushed or damaged.
► Should the appliance, the power cable or the plug become
damaged, arrange for them to be repaired by Customer
Services to avoid hazardous situations.
► Do not use the appliance outdoors.
► Do not use extension cables – this will make it easier to dis-
connect the appliance quickly in an emergency.
► Never take hold of the appliance, the power cable or the
power plug with wet hands.
► Do not kink or crush the power cable, and route the cable
so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.
► Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance, and pro-
tect it from being damaged. Under no circumstances should
the appliance be submersed in liquids or liquids be allowed
to penetrate the housing. Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. If liquid gets into the housing,
disconnect the appliance from the mains power socket immediately and have it repaired by a qualified technician.
► Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is
completely free of electrical power ONLY when unplugged.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Never use the appliance near water, and keep it away
from sinks, baths and other similar containers. The proximity
of water is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off.
Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket
after use. As additional protection, we recommend you
install a residual current circuit-breaker with an activation
power rating of not more than 30 mA for the power circuit
in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
► Never leave a switched-on appliance unsupervised.
► Never place the appliance close to sources of heat, and
protect the power cable from damage.
► Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained a fall or is
damaged in any way. Have the appliance checked and/or
repaired by qualified technicians if necessary.
► This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years
or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge
only if they are being supervised or have been instructed
with regard to the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks.
► Children must not play with the appliance.
► Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by
children unless they are under supervision.
► Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance
yourself. This can lead to risks and also invalidates the warranty.
Defective appliances should be repaired by authorized
specialists only.
► The appliance becomes hot during use. Always hold the ap-
pliance using the grip when it is hot.

Package contents
The appliance is supplied with the following components as standard:
1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the
carton.
2) Remove all packaging material.
3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section entitled "Cleaning".
NOTE
► Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage.
► If any items are missing or damaged as a result of defective packaging or
transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter "Service").
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease
of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging into the material cycle conserves raw materials and
reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are
no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE
► If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty period so
that the appliance can be properly packed for returning in the event of a
warranty claim.

■ The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products. The only exception
to this are special products which facilitate hair straightening.
■ Comb the hair thoroughly before straightening so that there are no knots in it.
Operation
Switching on/off
NOTE
► The appliance will only heat up if the hotplates are pulled out. The
indicator lamp will light up even if the hotplates are pushed in if the
ON/OFF switch is set to "I".
► The hotplates must be free of dirt. Clean them before use if required
(see section "Cleaning").
The appliance is secured with the catch .
Press the hotplates together and pull the catch out.
Now you can open the hair straightener.
1) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
2) Pull the two hotplates out completely.
3) Push the ON/OFF switch to the “I” (on) position. The indicator lamp
switches on. The appliance heats up. After about 3 minutes, the hair straightener has heated up.
4) When you have finished styling your hair, push the ON/OFF switch to
the “0” (off) position. Pull out the plug and allow the appliance to cool down
completely.
5) Pull the two locking buttons in the direction of the arrow, so you can push
the two hotplates back in evenly.

Straightening hair
1) Prepare the hair as described in "Before straightening". The two hotplates
are pulled out and heated.
2) Start with the lower sections of hair at the back of your head. Work around
the sides to the front: take a strand of hair about 2cm wide and hold the
end of the strand tightly between your index and middle finger of the hand
which is not holding the hair straightener.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
► Ensure that the hotplates do not touch your scalp. Risk of burns! During
operation, touch the appliance only on the handles. Risk of burns!
3) Clamp the strand near the root between the hotplates and press them
together.
4) Pull the entire strand through the hotplates by pulling the hair straightener
quickly downwards from the root to the tips.
5) Proceed in the same way for every strand.
6) Once you have straightened all the strands, pull the power plug from the
mains power socket.
7) Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
8) Pull the two locking buttons in the direction of the arrow, so you can push
the two hotplates in evenly.
Press the hotplates together and push the catch back in.

Cleaning
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!

1) Wipe the housing and the hotplates with a damp cloth.
2) For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Wipe off any detergent

Never dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive
2012/19/EU.
Dispose of the appliance via an approved waste disposal company or your
municipal waste disposal facility. Please comply with all applicable regulations.
Please contact your waste disposal facility if you are in any doubt.
This appliance is provided with a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase.
The appliance has been manufactured with care and inspected meticulously
prior to delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim,
please contact your Customer Service unit by telephone. This is the only way to
guarantee free return of your goods.
NOTE
► The warranty is valid only for material or manufacturing faults, not for

The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use
of force and modifications/repairs which have not been carried out by one of
our authorised Service centres.
Your statutory rights are not restricted by this warranty. The warranty period
is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to
replaced and repaired components.
Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking, but no later than two days after the date of purchase.
Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to charge.
