► This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and above and
by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision
or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of
the potential risks. Children must not use the appliance as a plaything.
Cleaning and user maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children
unless they are supervised.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
► Ensure that no liquids can get into the scales or into the display.
► Do not place the scales in the immediate vicinity of heat sources. The
scales and the display may only be operated at temperatures between
10° and 40°C. Higher or lower temperatures can lead to malfunctions
or to permanent damage.
► Do not place any weight of more than 180 kg / 396 lb / 28.35 st
on the scales! This could irreparably damage the scales.
► Avoid electrostatic charging and discharging. These can cause erroneous
displays and/or the sudden deactivation of the scales.

INFORMATION ON USING BATTERIES
This appliance uses a battery. When handling batteries, please observe
the following:
► Do not throw batteries into a fi re. Do not recharge batteries.
Risk of explosion!
► Never open batteries and never solder or weld batteries. Risk of
explosions and injuries!
► Check the condition of the battery regularly. Leaking batteries can
cause damage to the appliance.
► Remove the battery if you do not intend to use the appliance for an
extended period of time.
► If the batteries have leaked, use protective gloves. Clean the battery
compartment and the battery contacts with a dry cloth.
► In the event of skin contact with spilled battery acid, immediately wash
the aff ected area with plenty of water.
► Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children can put batteries
into their mouth and swallow them. If a battery is swallowed, medical
assistance must be sought immediately.

Initial operation
1) Open the battery compartment 2 by sliding
the cover in the direction of the arrow and then
removing it.
2) Insert the battery into the battery compartment 2 according to its polarity.
3) Slide the cover back on to the battery compartment 2 until it clicks into place.
4) Place the scales on a fl at, fi rm surface and tap
the centre of the scales with your foot to switch
it on.
5) Pick up the scales and set the desired unit of
measurement (kg, lb or st) by pressing the
UNIT button 1 on the rear of the scales
NOTE
► The unit of measurement must only be set on
rst use.

6) Place the scales on a fl at and stable surface.
Ensure that neither the fl oor at the location of
the scales nor the upper surface of the scales
are wet, otherwise there is a risk of slipping!

Never use the scales if they are wet
or moist. Never step onto the scales
with wet or moist feet. There would
be a serious risk of slipping and
personal injury!
Never put weight onto only one
side of the scales. Always step onto
the scales in the middle and with
both feet. Otherwise, the scales
could tip and become irreparably
damaged. There is also a risk of
falling over!

► Never jump onto glass scales! This could

1) Tap your foot on the middle of the scales to
switch them on.
2) Stand with both feet on the scales. Stand as
still as possible and without displacing your
weight.
3) During the weighing process, the indicated
weight increases until your weight is shown.
4) Once your weight has been determined, the
result blinks three times on the display 3.
NOTE
If the display 3 switches off
the scales cannot measure the weight correctly.
In this case, step down from the scales, wait
a few seconds and then try again. Make sure
you stand still and do not interrupt the weighing
procedure.

■ If the weight exceeds the maximum weighing
capacity of 180 kg / 396 lb / 28.35 st, “0_Ld“
is shown in the display 3. You should immediately step down from the scales, otherwise they
could be damaged.
■ If “Lo” appears in the display 3 you need to
replace the battery.
Replacing the battery
1) Open the battery compartment 2 by sliding
the cover in the direction of the arrow and then
removing it.
2) Press the battery against the small spring in the
battery compartment 2 and remove the old
battery.
3) Insert a new 3 V battery, type CR 2032, into
the battery compartment 2. Ensure the polarity
is correct. This is indicated in the battery compartment 2.
4) Slide the cover back on to the battery compartment 2 until it clicks into place.

■ Avoid unnecessary battery discharge.

WSKAZÓWKI ODNOŚNIE
DO POSTĘPOWANIA Z BATERIAMI
Urządzenie jest zasilane jedną baterią. Podczas obchodzenia się z

bateriami należy przestrzegać następujących zasad:
► Baterii nie wolno wrzucać do ognia. Nie wolno ładować rozładowanych
baterii. Niebezpieczeństwo wybuchu!
► Baterii nie wolno otwierać, lutować ani spawać. Istnieje niebezpieczeństwo
wybuchu i odniesienia obrażeń!
► Regularnie sprawdzaj baterię. Rozlane baterie mogą spowodować
uszkodzenia urządzenia.
► Podczas dłuższej przerwy w użytkowaniu urządzenia, należy wyjąć
baterie.
► W celu wyjęcia z urządzenia wylanych baterii zakładaj zawsze
rękawice ochronne. Komorę baterii i styki baterii należy czyścić tylko
suchą szmatką.
► W razie kontaktu cieczy wyciekającej z baterii ze skórą natychmiast
przepłukać skażone miejsca dużą ilością czystej wody.
► Baterie nigdy nie powinny trafi ć w ręce dzieci. Dziecko może połknąć
baterię. W razie połknięcia baterii należy natychmiast skorzystać z
pomocy medycznej.

Uruchomienie
1) Otwórz komorę baterii 2, przesuwając po-
krywkę komory baterii w kierunku strzałki i
zdejmij ją.
2) Włóż baterię zgodnie z oznaczeniem biegunowości do komory baterii 2.
3) Wsuń pokrywkę komory baterii 2, aż się
zatrzaśnie.
4) Ustaw wagę na płaskim, stabilnym podłożu
i naciśnij ją stopą pośrodku, co spowoduje
włączenie wagi.
5) Podnieś wagę i ustaw żądaną jednostkę miary
(kg, lb lub st), naciskając przycisk UNIT 1
z tyłu wagi.
WSKAZÓWKA
► Jednostkę miary należy ustawić tylko przy
wszym użyciu.
