A CAUTION

.liltrationsystem. If your filter was manufacturedafter 11/1/95,no modificationis necessary.
To effectively utilize the 1%"Top Mount Multiport Valve, the standpipe must be modified and the overdrain parts must be properly installed in the following manner.
1.Cut the standpipe to 11-112"k 118" in length, measuring from the top of the hub to the end of the PVC pipe.
2.Center the standpipe and lateral assembly in the filter tank. Place the overdrain basket into the standpipe.

Ifthe standpipe is not cut within the tolerances outlined, the valve will not seal properly or bypass will occur. An improper seal will cause leaking and bypass will affect media migration and filtration efficiency.
3.Next place the 7-718" standpipe extension (provided with valve) into the overdrain basket.
4.At this point, the filter can be filled with sand. Be sure to use the 1-?hl' adapter and the sand funnel. Follow the directions in the
filter instruction manual.
5.Place the diverter cup on the top of the basket, and then place the 1W' adapter on top of the standpipe.
6.Install the valve on the top of the filter. Be sure that the standpipe extends into the receptacle on the bottom of the Multiport valve.
7.Secure the valve with the clamp and tighten according to the filter instruction manual (PIN 99226000).Call 1-800-831-7133 for additonal free copies of these instructions.

APRECAUCION
La siguiente informacion debe leerse cuidadosamente pues en ella se esboza la modificacionadecuada de 10s componentes de 10s filtros fabricados antes del 1'de noviembre de 1995 (11/1/95),vea la Figura 1. Como resultado de apegarse a estos instructivos y realizar 10s cuidados preventivos necesarios, usted puede esperar una eficienciay rendimiento miuimos de su sistema de filtrado. Si su filtro se fabric0 despues del 1 V e noviembre de 1995, la modificacion no es necesaria.
Para utilizar en forma efectiva la valvula multipuerto de montaje por arriba de 3.8 cm (I-%"), el tub0 de soporte tiene que modificarse y las piezas del sobredrenaje tienen que instalarse en la forma correcta de la siguiente manera:

A PRECAUCION
Si el .tub0de soporte no se corta dentro de las tolerancias indicadas, la valvula podria no sellar adecuadamenteo se presentariaun sobrepaso. Un sellado inadecuado causaria un goteo y un sobrepaso afectara la migraciondel materialy por consecuenciala eficiencia del .filtrado.
3.En seguida, coloque la extensi6n del tubo de soporte de 20 cm (7-718")(queviene con la vdvula)dentrode la canastilladel sobredrenaje.
4.En este momento, el filtro se puede llenar con arena. Cerciorese de usar el adaptador de 3.8 cm (1-%") y el embudo para arena. Siga 10s linearnientos en el manual de instructivos en el manual de instructivos del filtro.
5.Coloque la copa de desvio en la parte de arriba de la canastilla, y despuks coloque el adaptador de 3.8 cm (I-%") en la parte de arriba del tubo de soporte.
6.Instale la vAlvula en la parte de arriba del filtro. Cerci6rese de que el tubo de soporte se extienda hasta el recept~culodel fondo de la valvula multipuerto.
7.Fije la valvula con la abrazadera y apriktela de acuerdo con el manual de instructivos del filtro (N6m.JPte. 99226000). Llame a1 805-523-2400 para solicitar una copia.
