Placement

Batteries

Firmware updates

Panasonic is constantly improving the unit’s firmware to ensure that our customers are enjoying the latest technology.

Panasonic recommends updating your firmware as soon as you are notified. For details, refer to “Firmware updates” (> 8).

To dispose or transfer this unit

The unit may keep the user settings information in the unit. If you discard this unit either by disposal or transfer, then follow the procedure to return all the settings to the factory presets to delete the user settings.

1Turn the unit on.

2Press and hold [OK], the yellow button and the blue button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

– POWER LED starts to flash, and “00 RET” is displayed on the screen.

3 Press [1] (right) repeatedly on the remote control until “08 FIN” is displayed on the screen.

4Press and hold [OK] for more than 5 seconds.

≥ The operation history may be recorded in the memory of this unit.

Quick Start Guide

STEP 1 : Connecting to a TV

≥To enjoy 4K output, you need to connect this unit to a 4K compatible TV.

≥To enjoy images in 4K (50p/60p), you need an HDMI cable that supports 18 Gbps. When outputting 1080p or 24p (4K) signal, please use HDMI cables 5.0 meters or less. It is recommended that you use Panasonic’s HDMI cable.

≥If you connect this unit to a 4K-compatible TV and perform “Easy Settings”, 4K (50p/60p) will be automatically selected.

≥To view Ultra HD Blu-ray content in 4K/HDR format, connect to the HDMI terminal of a device that supports HDCP2.2, 4K (50p/60p) 4:4:4, and HDR signals that meet Ultra HD Blu-ray standards.

≥This unit consumes a small amount of AC power (> 8) even when turned off in standby mode. For the purpose of energy conservation, the unit should be disconnected if you will not be using it for extended period of time.

Select the item to play and press [OK].

Operating during playback

Following functions may not work depending on the media and contents.

			The stopping point is memorized.
	Stop	Press [∫STOP].	Resume play function
			Press [1PLAY] to restart from this point.
			≥The point is cleared if the media is removed.
	Pause	Press [;PAUSE].	Press [;PAUSE] again or [1PLAY] to restart play.
	Search	While playing, press	The speed increases up to 5 steps.
		[SEARCH6] or [SEARCH5].
			≥Press [1PLAY] to revert to normal playback
		While paused, press
	Slow motion		speed.
		[SEARCH6] or [SEARCH5].
	Skip	While playing or paused, press	Skip to the title, chapter or track.

Firmware updates

Occasionally, Panasonic may release updated firmware for this unit that may add or improve the way a feature operates. These updates are available free of charge.

This unit is capable of checking the firmware automatically when connected to the Internet via a broadband connection.*1

When a new firmware version is available, the following message is displayed.

Select “Yes” to start downloading the firmware. When the firmware update starts after the downloading is finished, a black screen is displayed and the POWER LED flashes rapidly.

You cannot operate the unit until the update is complete. Don’t remove the AC mains lead during the update. Removing the AC mains lead while the update is in progress may damage the unit.

After the firmware is installed, unit will restart and the following screen will be displayed.

When the update is complete the POWER LED will stop rapid flashings and start flashing in a repeating pattern of three flashes. Turn off and on the unit.

≥Downloading will require several minutes. It may take longer or may not work properly depending on the connection environment.

Es wird empfohlen, ein HDMI-Kabel von Panasonic zu verwenden.

≥Wenn Sie dieses Gerät mit einem 4K-kompatiblen Fernseher verbinden und “Grundeinstellung” ausführen, wird automatisch 4K (50p/60p) ausgewählt.

Pour retransmettre un signal en 1080p ou 24p (4K), veuillez utiliser des câbles HDMI mesurant 5,0 mètres au maximum.

2Tenere premuti contemporaneamente [OK], il tasto giallo e quello blu sul telecomando per più di 5 secondi.

– Il LED POWER inizia a lampeggiare, e sullo schermo viene visualizzata l'indicazione “00 RET”.

3 Premere ripetutamente [1] (destra) sul telecomando finché sullo schermo non viene visualizzato “08 FIN”.

4Tenere premuto [OK] per almeno 5 secondi.

FASE 1 : Collegamento alla TV

≥Per ottenere la riproduzione in formato 4K, è necessario collegare questa unità ad un televisore compatibile con 4K.

≥Per riprodurre immagini in formato 4K (50p/60p), è necessario un cavo HDMI che supporti 18 Gbps.

Quando viene trasmesso un segnale 1080p o 24p (4K), utilizzare cavi HDMI di lunghezza non superiore a 5,0 metri. Si raccomanda di usare un cavo HDMI Panasonic.

≥Se si collega l'unità ad un televisore compatibile con lo standard 4K e si effettua “Impostazione rapida” verrà automaticamente selezionato 4K (50p/60p).

≥Per visualizzare i contenuti Ultra HD Blu-ray in formato 4K/HDR, collegarsi al terminale HDMI di un dispositivo che supporti i segnali HDCP2.2, 4K (50p/60p) 4:4:4 e HDR conforme agli standard Ultra HD Blu-ray.

≥Questa unità consuma una piccola quantità di corrente CA (> 8) anche in modalità standby. Per risparmiare energia, se si prevede di non utilizzare questa unità per lungo tempo, è possibile scollegarla.
