Congratulations
Congratulations on your purchase of the Jamo LM4.6 local input module.
The LM4.6 is an in-wall module that allows you to add a local source to the distributed ones from the AM4.6 hub. The local sources can only be heard in the zone (room) where it is connected as well as the sub-zone for that zone (if a sub-zone is connected), but will not be distributed to any other zones. The LM4.6 connects between the AM4.6 hub and the KP4.6 keypad using Cat5 or Cat5e cables.
Each zone can support two LM4.6, which allows you to connect two local sources in a zone.
The local source(s) can be controlled with a remote control through the KP4.6 keypads IR pass through to the LM4.6. The IR signal is routed, which means that the local source will only receive the IR signal when that local source is selected.
The LM4.6 front is made to fit the Decora™ standard faceplates (not included) available from many manufacturers on the market.

Precautions
Do not install the KP4.6 in a double gang box that also has electrical installation in it. If installed next to electrical installation either a barrier-box or two single gang boxes must be used.
Do not install the KP4.6 close to dimmer switches as they generate noise.
Do not install the KP4.6 in areas with high humidity or outdoors.
The LM4.6 operates on 24V DC supplied through the CAT5e cable and can therefore often be installed in locations only permitted for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) equipment. If in doubt, check the wiring regulation for your application in your area.
Make sure the power supply is not connected to the AM4.6.
The maximum length of Cat5 is 100 feet (30m) from the AM4.6 hub to the KP4.6 keypad.
After all connections are made, the power supply can be connected to the AM4.6 hub.
Installation
The LM4.6 should be installed close to the local source location to avoid running long RCA cables between the two. Check all connections before mounting the LM4.6 into a standard UL/CSA approved single gang J-box.
The LM4.6 is “electrically” located between the AM4.6 hub and the KP4.6 keypad (fig. 1). Therefore for zones (rooms) where an LM4.6 or two LM4.6s are installed, the Cat5 cable runs from the AM4.6 through the LM4.6(s) to the KP4.6. See pages 6 - 9 for further details.

Cat5 Connections
Use a Cat5 or Cat5e cable to connect the LM4.6 to the AM4.6 keypad output. For the connection to the AM4.6 the Cat5 should be terminated in the RJ45 plug as per T568A standard. Fig. 2.

The LM4.6 has 110 punch-down connectors for connecting the Cat5 cable. Be sure to use the correct in and out connectors (fig. 3) and pay attention to the color coding on the connectors.
If using shielded Cat5 cable, connect the shields to the green terminal blocks as shown on fig. 3 (dotted arrows).

Source Rotation on KP4.6
To be able to select the local input(s) with the SELECT button on the KP4.6 it must be set to rotate through the LM4.6(s). Press the volume DOWN and UP buttons simultaneously. After 4 seconds the LED will turn off and start flashing green. Release the buttons when the desired setting is reached.
One flash: Rotates through 6 sources from AM4.6. Two flashes: Rotates through 6 sources from AM4.6 + Local 1. Three flashes: Rotates through 6 sources from AM4.6 + Local 1 & Local 2. Four flashes: No rotation (sources can not be selected from KP4.6.

Operation
The source(s) connected to the LM4.6(s) can be selected the following three ways:
1. From the KP4.6 keypad with the SELECT button (see Source Rotation page 9).
2. From LRC4.6 learning remote control. The LRC4.6 is pre-coded for LM4.6(s) selection.
3. From RC4.6 system remote control (local 1 only).
