Installation & User Guide

Congratulations
Congratulations on your purchase of the Jamo
LM4.6 local input module.
The LM4.6 is an in-wall module that allows you to
add a local source to the distributed ones from the
AM4.6 hub. The local sources can only be heard in
the zone (room) where it is connected as well as
the sub-zone for that zone (if a sub-zone is connected), but will not be distributed to any other
zones. The LM4.6 connects between the AM4.6 hub
and the KP4.6 keypad using Cat5 or Cat5e cables.
Each zone can support two LM4.6, which allows
you to connect two local sources in a zone.
The local source(s) can be controlled with a remote
control through the KP4.6 keypads IR pass through
to the LM4.6. The IR signal is routed, which means
that the local source will only receive the IR signal
when that local source is selected.
The LM4.6 front is made to fit the Decora™ standard faceplates (not included) available from many
manufacturers on the market.

Precautions
Do not install the KP4.6 in a double gang box that
also has electrical installation in it. If installed next
to electrical installation either a barrier-box or two
single gang boxes must be used.
Do not install the KP4.6 close to dimmer switches
as they generate noise.
Do not install the KP4.6 in areas with high humidity
or outdoors.
The LM4.6 operates on 24V DC supplied through
the CAT5e cable and can therefore often be installed in locations only permitted for Extra Low
Voltage (ELV) equipment. If in doubt, check the wiring regulation for your application in your area.
Make sure the power supply is not connected to
the AM4.6.
The maximum length of Cat5 is 100 feet (30m)
from the AM4.6 hub to the KP4.6 keypad.
After all connections are made, the power supply
can be connected to the AM4.6 hub.
