INTRODUCTION

Before attempting to use this product, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully. In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase giving you long and satisfactory service.

GUARANTEE

This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt which will be required as proof of purchase.
This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended.
Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can be returned to us without prior permission.
This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
• Wear eye protection (standard spectacles are not adequate), a full range of safety equipment is available from your Clarke dealer.
• Do not wear jewellery and tie long hair back.
• Keep the tools clean and in good condition.
• Do not use the tools if they are damaged in any way.
• Make sure that the vehicle is supported on suitable axle stands if working underneath the vehicle.
• Do not leave any tools in or around the engine bay, account for all tools before you restart the vehicle.

OPERATION

1. Establish the current thread size of the damaged plug and select a tap slightly larger.
2. Mount the tap in a tap wrench (not supplied), and apply a small amount of oil to the tap.
3. Introduce the tap into the drian plug threaded hole.
• Make sure that the tap is in line with the hole and not being introduced
at an angle.
4. Turn the tap until it starts to bite, then turn a 1/2 turn clockwise.
5. Back it out 1/4 of a turn.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 as required.
• As the cutting of a new thread progresses, periodically remove the tap
completely and clean away any shavings to prevent any debris entering the sump.
7. When the tap is running freely, fit a new washer and plug and tighten.
8. Before you use the vehicle, check the washer and plug to make sure that it is oil tight.
