Instructions for Packing and Shipping
the A750DD2 Mechanical Assembly
for a Parr 1271 Calorimeter
If it becomes necessary to return a Parr 1271
Calorimeter to the factory, the A750DD2
mechanical unit (the tower) must be packed
carefully to prevent shipping damage. For
best protection, Parr will furnish a heavy-duty
shipping carton and a set of foamed plastic
“traps” (spacers) which will align and hold the
tower firmly in place within the carton. Using
these supplies, the shipper should pack the
unit as described below.

5. Tilt and lift the tower and set into the
trap which fits the side; then place the
matching trap on the other side as
shown.
6. Set shipping carton on end next to the
tower, then slide the unit into the
carton with side traps in place. Close
and tape the carton.
7. Attach a readable shipping address
and, if shipping to the factory, be sure
to show RMA No. (Return Material
Authorization Number) provided by
Parr.
If an A750DD2 shipping carton and traps are
not available, prepare the tower for shipment
as described in steps 1-3 and ship it in a
sturdy box which will provide 3 or 4 inches
clearance at the bottom and top and 6 inches
clearance around the sides of the unit. Place
the tower in a large plastic bag. Close the
bag and set the unit on a 3 or 4 inch layer of
plastic peanuts or other dense, shock
absorbing material in the bottom of the box.
Then fill all remaining space with the packing
material. Close the box and mark it as stated
above. Apply arrows to identify the top of the
shipment and strap the box firmly to a wood
pallet, if available.
