Circuit Change
PROBLEM: Resistor is overheating.
CAUSE: Resistor R227 is underrated.
SOLUTION: Change R227 from 560R 1/2W fusible resistor to a 560R 2W
fusible resistor.

MODIFICATION
PROBLEM:
You may receive a complaint about the unit being totally unresponsive to commands and not coming out
off protection.
CAUSE:
A power surge during switch on may cause two fusible resistors to blow.
SOLUTION:
• Change R401 and R402 from 2.2 Ohm/2W to a jumper wire.
It’s advisable to perform this modification whenever a unit comes in for service.

MODIFICATION
PROBLEM:
You may receive the complaint that the Left and Right channel are not switched on at the same time.
This is only noticeable if you switch on the unit with signal already applied to it.
CAUSE:
The muting circuit in the pre-amplifier may not release both channels at exactly the same time.
SOLUTION:
• Change D309 and D310 from 1N4148 to 10M Ohm 1/6W 5% Metal Film Resistor
It’s advisable to perform this modification whenever a unit comes in for service.

PROBLEM: The standby transformer voltage is dropping or unit won’t turn
on from standby mode.
CAUSE: Capacitors C511,C512 and C513 are shorting.
SOLUTION: Change C511,C512 and C513 from 100nF/100v ceramic disc to
100nF/100v metallized polyester film.
