Quick start guide
CVA 30xx
These short instructions are not a substitute for the Operating instruction booklet supplied with your coffee machine.
Please read the Operating instruction booklet supplied with your machine before using it for the first time and take note of the Warning and Safety instructions as well as the full descriptions on how to use your machine.

Using the coffee machine - first steps
Controls
s On/Off sensor < Left arrow sensor, for scrolling through the various programme options OK Sensor for confirming the selection of a programme option and for saving
a setting > Right arrow sensor, for scrolling through the various programme options / Drinks selection sensor (coffee or espresso)
Display
Drinks selection sensor: K = Coffee type, L= Steam, o = Hot water
User profile: n for up to 9 different users
Maintenance programmes: G = Maintenance, k = Descaling Settings: C = For customising your machine
Filling the water container
^ Fill the water
container with fresh, cold tap water up to the "Max." marker.
Filling the capsule carousel
^
Pull the carousel runners a out as far as possible.
Making coffee / espresso
^
Use the drinks selection sensor to select coffee or espresso.
^
Use an arrow sensor to select the coffee type and touch the OK sensor.
^
Fill the chambers c in the capsule carousel b with capsules. Make sure you put them in correctly with the foil facing downwards.
^
Double portion
Wait until "Double portion?" appears in the display and touch the OK sensor.
Notes on operation
Programming the amount: Setting the portion size for coffee and espresso
Use the drinks
^
sensor / to select the type of coffee you want (coffee or espresso).
Chamber symbols in the display
K1 = A type of coffee has been allocated to the chamber;
the chamber has been filled
K, = A type of coffee has been allocated to the chamber; the chamber is empty K? = The chamber has not been allocated with a type of coffee
Allocating a type of coffee
^ Select Settings
C and touch the
OK sensor.
Place a cup
^
under the spout.
^ Select "Allocate
type" and touch the OK sensor.
Touch the OK
^
sensor until "Prog. the amount" appears in the display.
^ Select the
chamber you want (1-5) and touch the OK sensor.
Touch the OK
^
sensor again as soon as the cup is filled to the level you want and "Save" appears in the display.
^ Select "Select".
Then select the type of coffee from those availĀ­able and touch the OK sensor.
Renaming a type of coffee
^
Use one of the arrow sensors to select the letters you want and touch the OK sensor when appropriate.
Selecting or creating a User profile
^
Use one of the arrow sensors to select User profile n and touch the OK sensor when appropriate.
Made a mistake?
Select the bin and touch the OK sensor = the last letter will be deleted.
^
Proceed as described in "Allocating a type of coffee" and "Renaming a type of coffee".
Save?
Select OK and touch the OK sensor.
Do not save?
Select "Back" and touch the OK sensor.
Important care tips
All parts except the capsule plate and the plastic grille are dishwasher safe.
Before use:
It is very important to programme the water hardness level into the machine to
^
prevent limescale building up too quickly. See "Settings: Water hardness" in the Operating instruction booklet.
Regular maintenance:
Follow all maintenance instructions that appear in the display.
^
^ The machine
door - follow the "Cleaning and care" instructions in the Operating instruction booklet carefully.
^
Clean the capsule carousel and the carousel runners in the dishwasher.
^ Clean all parts of
the drip tray.
^ Wipe the small
drip tray inside the door.
^
Wipe the area underneath the carousel runners, especially the sensor and the recess.
^ Wipe the interior
with a damp cloth.
^
Clean the cover of the coffee spout in the dishwasher.
In addition, clean the capsule plate approx. once a month using a cleaning tablet (make sure you use the correct tablet):
Fill a tumbler with
^
hot water and dissolve a clean ing tablet (approx. 1 cm diameter, pack of
10) in it.
-
Remove the capsule plate.
^
Place the capsule plate in the
^
cleaning solution and leave for approx. one hour. After an hour, remove the capsule plate, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
Descaling the machine (approx. 30 mins)
Important: Only use the descaling tablets supplied (approx. 5 cm diameter, pack
of 6) and wipe up any spills immediately to avoid damage to the front of the machine.
^ Select "Descale"
k and touch the OK sensor.
^ Remove the
capsule plate and fit the coloured descaling funnel.
^ Follow the
instructions in the display.
