Mastercycler® gradient enables
a specially developed carrier system. This allows the Mastercycler® and

covering hood. This covering hood is transparent and double-walled,
which allows access to the sample at all times and also prevents heat
loss.
The adapter is extremely easy to handle: The carrier system is positioned

Voltage
Before startup, please ensure that your power supply
corresponds to the voltage specifications on the identification
plate!
Mastercycler or Mastercycler gradient must be plugged into
a grounded socket.
Before carrying out maintenance or cleaning work or
replacing the fuses, switch off the Mastercycler,
Mastercycler gradient or
from the mains supply.
Explosive substances
Do not use explosive or highly reactive substances in the
Mastercycler® or Mastercycler® gradient or in combination
with the
in situ
Adapter! Do not operate the Mastercycler®,
Mastercycler® gradient or the
explosive environment!
Liquids
Do not allow any liquid to enter into the device!
Danger of burns
The thermoblock,
the micro test tubes and microtiter plates attain a temperature
in excess of 50 °C extremely rapidly.
Close the covering hood of the
after starting the PCR. Ensure that the covering hood remains
closed until the temperature is 30 °C or lower.
Repairs may be carried out by trained specialists only. Only use original
Eppendorf spare parts. Disconnect the mains supply before opening the
Mastercycler® or Mastercycler® gradient.

Together with a transparent plate attachment, the covering hood offers
protection during transport. The plate attachment and the covering hood
should also be used for storing the adapter.

4 Maintenance
The
in situ
Adapter does not require regular maintenance.
Contamination can be removed using water or a mild laboratory cleaning
agent. The covering hood should be wiped using a moist cloth only in
order to prevent water or other liquids from entering the lateral ventilation
slits of the double chamber.
Do not allow any parts of the
organic solvents or aggressive chemical. Do not clean the transparent
plastic parts using alcohol or acetone.
