Installation
Place the appliance on a work surface away from water
taps and sinks.
Check that the voltage of the mains power supply corresponds to the value indicated on the appliance rating plate.
Connect the appliance to an eciently earthed electrical
socket with a minimum rating of 6A only.
The manufac turer declines all liability for any accidents
caused by the absence of an ecient earth system.
If the power socket does not match the plug on the appli-
ance, have the socket replaced with a suitable type by a qualied electrician.
How to make coee
When the ba se is plugged into the mains, the electronic control unit emits a beep. When three ashing lines appear on the display, the time can be set or coee can be made immediately.
1) Make sure the coee maker is cold, then unscrew by holding the boiler with one hand and turning the jug anticlockwise with the other (g. 1).
2) Remove the funnel lter and, to make a full coee maker, ll the boiler with fresh water up to the safety valve (visible inside the boiler), without exceeding it (Fig. 2).
To make half the coee maker, ll the boiler with water
up to the circular mark under the safety valve (g. 3 - X).
TIP: use soft cold water. Brackish or hard water will weaken the avour. The coee should ideally be up to lter level.
IMPORTANT: do not use the coee maker without water in the boiler. Do not use hot water to speed up coee making.
3) Insert the funnel lter in the boiler (g. 4).
To prepare half the coee maker, insert the adapter disc
(G) in the funnel lter (g. 5).
4) Fill the funnel lter with ground coee, without pressing down (g. 6).
Fill a little at a time to avoid the ground coee overow-
ing.
5) Distribute the ground coee uniformly and remove any excess coee from the edge of the lter.
IMPORTANT: Use good quality, medium-ground coee,
for moka coee makers. Do not use to make barley coffee.
6) Tighten the coee maker rmly but without exaggerating, holding the boiler with one hand and turning the jug clockwise with the other, without pushing on the handle.
IMPORTANT: to avoid dangerous splashes of boiling wa-

To remove the word “END”, press any button and wait for
a few minutes for the current time to be displayed again.

Auto-Start light goes o and the ON/OFF light comes on to indicate that the appliance has begun to heat the water.
When all the coee has been delivered, the word “END”

After a few minutes the ON/OFF light goes o and the
Keep Warm light remains on.
Press any button to eliminate the “END” display.
If there is no water in the boiler or if the coee maker is
not correctly positioned on the base, the display “H2O”
appears accompanied by a long beep.
If the coee maker is not positioned on the base within
one minute, the appliance goes o.
At the end of brewing
At the end of brewing, mix the coee to make it uniform
then serve.
Do not remove the coee maker from the base until END
appears on the display.
Tip: to prepare hot coee, we recommend using the quantities of water given in point 2 of the section “How to make coee”.
If using less water, you should leave the coee maker on the base for a few minutes. IMPORTANT: the rst time the coee maker is used, all the accessories and internal components should be washed with hot water. Then make and throw away a few batches of coee without drinking.
KEEP-WARM FUNCTION
By using the Keep Warm function, the coee can be drunk at just the right temperature up to half an hour after turning the appliance on. The function is activated automatically whenever the appliance is turned on. To deactivate it, press the button. The Keep Warm light goes o. At the end of brewing, if you remove the coee maker from the base for about two minutes, the Keep Warm function is automatically disabled. If coee is left in the coee maker, you can place the coee maker on the base and reactivate the Keep Warm function by pressing the button. If, however, the coee was made some time earlier and the coee maker is cold, after about one minute the appliance emits a long beep. Remember that coee loses its characteristic aroma when warmed up.
Instruction for use
Cleaning and maintenance
Before cleaning the appliance, wait until it has cooled
down after use.
Check regularly to make sure the coee slits are not
blocked. Clean using a pin (g. 9).
Over time, the gasket (E) and funnel (F) become old.
When signs of wear and deterioration become evident, they must be replaced. Use only gaskets and funnels available from authorised customer ser vice centres or identical to the originals provided.
Every so often check that the holes in the disk lter are
not blocked. If necessary, clean using a pin (g. 8).
DO NOT WASH THE COFFEE MAKER IN THE DISHWASHER.
When cleaning the boiler, safety valve and support base
do not use solvents or abrasive detergents.
Cleaning with a damp cloth is sucient, making sure wa-
ter does not penetrate the connector.
NB: when you remove the disk lter for cleaning or to replace the gasket, remember to replace it correctly before using the coee maker to avoid dangerous splashes of hot water.
Never rinse the boiler under the tap and never immerse in water.

Disposal
Important information for correct disposal of the product in accordance with EC Directive 2002/96/EC
At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority dierentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain signicant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.
Electrical connection (UK only)
A) If your appliance comes tted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13
Amp fuse. If it does not t your socket, the plug should be cut o from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug tted, as below.
WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut o plug after removing
the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorpo-
rating a fuse, the circuit must be protected by a 15 Amp fuse.
If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-tted
when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS
1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug.
B) If your appliance is not tted with a plug, please follow the instruc-
tions provided below:
WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
IMPORTANT: The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with
the following code: Green and yellow: Ear th Blue: Neutral Brown: Live As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug
marked with the letter E or the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.
