The D8132 Battery Charger modules work with
external batteries to increase standby time and
provide additional power to the auxiliary output of
compatible control panels.
Notice
The modules are UL rated as battery charger
modules. They can also be used as standalone
power supplies (not UL rated for this purpose).
System overview
The modules use a 16.5 VAC, 40 VA plug‑in
transformer (D1640) to supply 1.2 A of battery
charging current. A green LED lights to indicate the
presence of AC voltage.
Functions
Provide additional standby time
In applications where the control panel cannot
recharge its secondary batteries or when additional
power is needed for auxiliary outputs, the module can
provide up to 27 Ah at 12 V.
u Suitable as a standalone 12 VDC, 1 A power supply
(not UL rated for this application)
Standalone Power Supply
The modules can work as standalone, 12 VDC 1 A
power supplies for ancillary devices in non‑critical
applications that do not require battery supervision,
load shed capability, or UL Listing.

Application Considerations
Two additional 12 V, 7 Ah batteries or up to two 12 V,
13.5 Ah batteries can be installed with the module.
The module is ideal for systems requiring extended
battery standby time, such as UL Bank Safe and Vault
applications, and systems requiring additional auxiliary
current output. The module can also be installed as a
non‑UL Listed 12 V, 1 A stand‑alone power supply.
Wiring Considerations
Installers can use a four‑wire harness to connect one
or two batteries to the module.
Mounting Considerations
Installers can mount the battery charger module and
batteries inside a separate approved Bosch Security
Systems, Inc. enclosure such as the D8103, D8108A,
or D8109. These enclosures have a rectangular
knockout on the door, allowing installers to view the
green AC power LED on the battery charger module.
The D137 Mounting Bracket allows installers to mount
a battery charger module into enclosures from other
manufacturers.

The cables connect the D8132 to the transformer, one
or two batteries, and the control panel. Additional
hardware is provided for connecting larger batteries.
This hardware is not required when connecting
12 VDC, 7 Ah batteries.
