Application updatesYou now receive a notification message when a new version is available. You can also manually check for the latest
version of Windows Live™ Messenger for BlackBerry® devices by doing the following:
On the sign in screen, press the Menu key > Update Check.
ConversationsMessages that you type but do not send are no longer automatically deleted when you press the Escape key. The next
time that you open the conversation, you can edit your message and send it to your contact.
Conversation historyYou can search for text in the conversation history for a contact.
Shortcut iconsTo add a shortcut icon of a contact to the Home screen of your device so that you can quickly start conversations with
the contact, do the following:
1.On the contact list screen, in a contact group, highlight a contact.
2.Press the Menu key > Show In Home Screen.
To stop displaying the contact on the Home screen, click Remove From Home Screen.
StatusYou can set your status to automatically show when you are on a call. When your call ends, your status automatically
changes back to what you last set it to.
This feature is only available when your device is connected to a 3G network or to a GPRS or EDGE network that has
Wi-Fi® coverage.
About updating your applications
Updating the applications on your BlackBerry® device can offer you the following benefits:

Fixed issues
This section lists fixed issues for Windows Live™ Messenger for BlackBerry® devices 2.5.
Conversations
If you received a message from a person not on your contact list, if you responded to the message, a new conversation was started.
After reading a new message from a contact, the new message indicator might have remained on your device, and the LED indicator might have continued
to blink.
If you have a device with BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0 or later, you might not have been able to see messages that you typed in the conversation field.
General
If you took a picture in the Camera application, you might not have been able to send the picture to a contact using the menu on the preview screen.
Invitation requests might not have displayed on your device until after you signed out and signed back in.
If you highlighted a contact, "No Name" appeared in menu items such as Email <contact's name> instead of the contact's name.
If you opened the menu on the contact list screen, the My Info option appeared twice.
If you linked a contact with the Contacts application, there was no menu option to remove the link.
In some cases, the application stopped responding after you signed in.
Known issues
This section lists known issues for Windows Live™ Messenger for BlackBerry® devices 2.5.
Conversations
If you try to invite a contact to join an existing chat, you might receive a message indicating that the person has declined the invitation even though the
person might not have received the invitation.
If you have a BlackBerry device with BlackBerry® Device Software 4.7.1 or earlier, you might not be able to see messages that you type in the conversation field.
Workaround: You can try starting a new conversation with the contact.
If you try to optimize a PDF file that has been password protected, the password prompt does not appear and you cannot view the file.

General
If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 6.0 and you rename a BlackBerry contact that is linked with Windows Live™ Messenger for BlackBerry devices,
the Windows Live™ Messenger contact might not appear in search results.
Workaround: You can remove and relink the contact with the Contacts application.
If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 6.0 and a contact that you add as a shortcut icon to the Home screen of your device changes his or her display
name, the shortcut icon might not appear in search results.
Workaround: You can remove and re-add the shortcut icon for the contact.
Your contact list might not automatically refresh when you sign in.
Workaround: To manually refresh your contact list, press the Menu key > Refresh.
If you turn on encryption for your device and you set Windows Live™ Messenger for BlackBerry devices to automatically sign in, when you unlock your device,
the application might not automatically sign in.
If you link a contact with the Contacts application, extra information that you added to the contact's details from a computer is not automatically added to
the Contacts application.
In some cases, after you unblock a contact using Windows Live™ Messenger on a computer, the contact might continue to see you as offline in Windows Live™
