Language Quick Reference Booklet
This booklet provides instructions on using a language other than English on your BlackBerry Wireless
Handheld.
Load languages on your handheld
Use the Application Loader tool to load languages onto your handheld. You can load more than one
language onto your handheld at a time.
Note: English is always loaded on your handheld.
1. Connect your handheld to your computer.
2. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
3. Double-click the Application Loader icon. The Application Loader Wizard window appears.
4. Click Next. The Handheld Application Selection window appears.
5. In the Application Name section, select the check box beside the language that you want to load
onto your handheld.
6. Click Next. The Summary screen appears.
7. Click Finish.
Select a language on your handheld
After you load one or more languages onto your handheld, you can change the language in which your
handheld operates.
1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.
2. Click Localization. The Localization screen appears.
3. In the Locale field, press the Space key until the preferred language appears.
4. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.
5. Click Save. The handheld operates in the language that you selected.
Set the date and time
You can change the time zone and the date and time format on your handheld.
Note: If you change the time zone, your handheld adjusts the time automatically.
1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.
2. Click Date/Time. The Date/Time screen appears.
3. In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears:
Field Description
Time Zone Set your time zone.
Time Set the current time.
Time Format Select a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.
Date Set the current date.

Auto Time Set Set whether your handheld time is updated automatically based on the selected time
Network Date This field displays the current date on the wireless network.
Network Time This field displays the current time on the wireless network.
4. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.
5. Click Save. The options are saved.
Tip: To copy the current date and time from the wireless network to your handheld, on the Date/Time
screen, click the trackwheel. A menu appears. Click Copy Network Time.

Type with accents
To type accented characters, hold a letter key and roll the trackwheel to scroll through the accents and
symbols that are associated with that character. Release the letter key to insert the character.
Use AutoText
The AutoText function automatically replaces text that you type with programmed text. A set of
default AutoText entries is provided for each language. You can add AutoText entries to the set for all
languages or assign your entry to a particular language.
Create an AutoText entry
1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.
2. Click AutoText. The AutoText screen appears.
3. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.
4. Click New. The AutoText: New screen appears.
5. In the following fields, type AutoText information:
Field Description
Replace Type a word or a combination of letters.
With Type the text that replaces the word.
To insert a macro (for example, the current date), click the trackwheel. A menu appears. Click
Insert Macro. The Insert macro dialog box appears. Click a macro.
6. In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears:

Using Select one of the following options:
Specified Case: The capitalization of the AutoText entry appears exactly
as you typed it.
SmartCase: The capitalization of the AutoText entry changes depending
on the context in which it is used.
Locale Set whether the AutoText entry is available in all languages that are on
your handheld or in a specific language only.
7. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.
8. Click Save. The AutoText entry is saved.

Laden von Sprachen auf das Handheld
Verwenden Sie das Programm zum Laden von Anwendungen, um Sprachen auf Ihr Handheld zu
laden. Es können mehrere Sprachen gleichzeitig auf Ihr Handheld geladen werden.
Anmerkung: Englisch ist standardmäßig auf Ihrem Handheld vorhanden.

Guida introduttiva per la selezione della lingua
In questa guida vengono fornite istruzioni per l'uso del palmare wireless BlackBerry in altre lingue,
rispetto all'inglese.
Caricamento delle lingue nel palmare
Utilizzare lo strumento Application Loader per caricare le lingue nel palmare. È possibile caricare più
di una lingua per volta.
Nota: La lingua inglese è sempre presente nel palmare.
1. Connettere il palmare al computer.
2. Aprire la schermata BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
3. Fare doppio clic sull'icona Application Loader. Viene visualizzata l'Installazione guidata di
Application Loader.
4. Fare clic su Avanti. Viene visualizzata la finestra Selezione delle applicazioni del palmare.
5. Nella sezione Nome applicazione selezionare la casella di controllo accanto alla lingua che si
desidera caricare.
6. Fare clic su Avanti. Viene visualizzata la schermata Riepilogo.

Dopo avere caricato una o più lingue nel palmare, è possibile cambiare la lingua visualizzata nel

Impostazione della data e dell'ora
Nel palmare è possibile impostare il fuso orario, nonché il formato di data e ora.

Utilisation de la fonction Insertion automatique
La fonction Insertion automatique remplace automatiquement le texte tapé par un texte programmé.
Un jeu d'insertions automatiques par défaut est fourni pour chaque langue. Vous pouvez ajouter des
insertions automatiques à la liste par défaut de toutes les langues ou d'une langue spécifique.
Création d'une insertion automatique

Carga de idiomas en el dispositivo de bolsillo
Para cargar idiomas en el dispositivo de bolsillo, utilice la herramienta Cargador de aplicaciones.

1. En la pantalla de inicio, haga clic en el icono Opciones. Aparecerá la pantalla correspondiente.
2. Haga clic en Configuración regional. Aparecerá la pantalla correspondiente.
3. En el campo Idioma, pulse la tecla Space hasta que aparezca el idioma que desee.
4. Haga clic con la rueda de desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú.
5. Haga clic en Guardar. De este modo, establecerá el idioma que desee del dispositivo de bolsillo.
Configuración de fecha y hora
Puede modificar la zona horaria y el formato de fecha y hora del dispositivo de bolsillo.
Nota: Si modifica la zona horaria, el dispositivo de bolsillo ajusta la hora de forma automática.
1. En la pantalla de inicio, haga clic en el icono Opciones. Aparecerá la pantalla Opciones.
2. Haga clic en Fecha/Hora. Aparecerá la pantalla Fecha/hora.
3. En los campos siguientes, pulse la tecla Space hasta que aparezca la opción que desee:

Zona horaria Defina la franja horaria adecuada.
Hora Defina la hora actual.
Formato de hora Elija entre un reloj de 12 horas o de 24 horas.
Fecha Defina la fecha actual.

4. Haga clic con la rueda de desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú.
5. Seleccione Guardar. Las opciones se guardarán.
Sugerencia: Para copiar la fecha y hora actuales de la red inalámbrica al dispositivo de bolsillo, haga
clic con la rueda de desplazamiento en la pantalla Fecha/Hora. Aparecerá un menú. Haga clic en
Copiar hora de la red.
Establezca si la hora del dispositivo de bolsillo se actualizará automáticamente en
función de la franja horaria seleccionada.
Escritura con acentos
Para introducir caracteres acentuados, mantenga pulsada una tecla de letra y gire la rueda de
desplazamiento para desplazarse por los acentos y símbolos asignados a cada carácter. Suelte la tecla
de letra para introducir el carácter que desee.
Uso de la función Texto automático
La función Texto automático sustituye de forma automática texto introducido por el texto que se haya
programado. Con cada idioma se incluye un conjunto predeterminado de entradas de texto
automático. Puede agregar entradas de texto automático al conjunto de idiomas o asignar la entrada a
un idioma determinado.
Creación de una entrada de texto automático
1. En la pantalla de inicio, haga clic en el icono Opciones. Aparecerá la pantalla correspondiente.
2. Seleccione Texto automático. Aparecerá la pantalla correspondiente.
3. Haga clic con la rueda de desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú.
4. Haga clic en Nuevo. Aparecerá la pantalla Texto automático: Nuevo.
5. En los campos siguientes, introduzca la información de texto automático:
Campo Descripción
Reemplazar Introduzca una palabra o una combinación de letras.
Con Introduzca el texto que reemplace la palabra.
Para insertar una macro (por ejemplo, la fecha actual), haga clic con la rueda de
desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú. Haga clic en Insertar macro. Aparecerá el cuadro de
diálogo correspondiente. Seleccione una macro.

7. Haga clic con la rueda de desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú.
8. Seleccione Guardar. Se guardará la entrada de texto automático.
